< Psalmowo 22 >
1 David ƒe ha na hɛnɔ la, ne woadzi ɖe “Zinɔ le ŋdi kanyaa” ƒe gbeɖiɖi nu. Nye Mawu, nye Mawu, nu ka ŋuti nègblẽm ɖi? Nu ka ta nèle adzɔge ʋĩi na xɔxɔ nam, eye nète ɖa xaa tso nye hũɖeɖe gbɔ?
My God, my God, why have you forsaken me? Why are you so far from yishu'ah ·delivering· me, and from the words of my groaning?
2 O! Nye Mawu, medo ɣli na wò le ŋkeke kple zã me; megale edzi ko, gake mètɔ nam o.
My God, I cry in the daytime, but you don’t answer; in the night season, and am not silent.
But you are holy, you who inhabit the tehilahot ·praise songs· of Israel [God prevails].
4 Mewòe mía fofowo tsɔ woƒe xɔse dee, woka ɖe dziwò, eye nèɖe wo.
Our fathers trusted in you. They trusted, and you delivered them.
5 Wodo ɣli na wò, eye nèɖe wo, dziwòe woka ɖo, eye ŋu mekpe wo o.
They cried to you, and were delivered. They trusted in you, and were not disappointed.
But I am a worm, and no man; a reproach of men, and despised by the people.
7 Ame siwo katã kpɔm la ɖe alɔme le ŋunye; woflɔa dzu ɖe dzinye, eye woʋuʋua ta ɖe ŋunye gblɔna be:
All who see me jeer at me. They insult me and shake their heads:
8 “Eka ɖe Yehowa dzi, Yehowa neɖee míakpɔ. Yehowa neɖee, elabena eƒe nu nyo eŋu.”
“He trusts in Adonai; so let him set him free! Let him rescue him, since he delights in him.”
9 Ke wòe hem tso vidzidɔ me, eye le danye ƒe no nu ke, èna meka ɖe dziwò.
But you brought me out of the womb. You made me trust while at my mother’s breasts.
10 Wòe nye nye Mawu tso danye ƒe dɔ me ke, eye tso ɖevime wotsɔm de asi na wò.
I was thrown on you from my mother’s womb. You are my God since my mother bore me.
11 Mèganɔ adzɔge tso gbɔnye o, elabena xaxa tum, eye ame aɖeke meli axɔ nam o.
Don’t be far from me, for trouble is near. For there is no one to help.
12 Nyitsu geɖewo ɖe to ɖem; Basan nyitsu sesẽwo ƒo xlãm.
Many bulls have surrounded me. Strong bulls of Bashan have encircled me.
They open their mouths wide against me, lions tearing prey and roaring.

My strength is dried up like a potsherd. My tongue sticks to the roof of my mouth. You have brought me into the dust of death.
16 Avuwo ƒo xlãm, ame vɔ̃ɖiwo ƒe ha ɖe to ɖem, eye wotsɔ nu ŋɔ nye asiwo kple afɔwo.
For dogs have surrounded me. A company of villains have enclosed me. They have pierced my hands and feet.

They divide my garments among them. They cast lots for my clothing.
19 Ke wò, O! Yehowa, mèganɔ adzɔge o; O! Nye ŋusẽ, va kaba nàɖem.
But don’t be far off, Adonai. You are my help: hurry to help me.
20 Ɖe nye agbe tso yi ƒe asi me, eye ɖe nye agbe xɔasi la tso avuwo ƒe ŋusẽ me.
Deliver my soul from the sword, my precious life from the power of the dog.
21 Ɖem le dzatawo ƒe nu me, eye nàɖem le towo ƒe dzowo nu.
Save me from the lion’s mouth! Yes, from the horns of the wild oxen, you have answered me.
I will declare your name to my brothers. Among the assembly, I will praise you.
23 Mi ame siwo vɔ̃a Yehowa, mikafui! Mi, Yakob ƒe dzidzimeviwo, mide bubu eŋuti! Misroe ɖa, mi Israel ƒe dzidzimeviwo!
You who fear Adonai, praise him! All you descendants of Jacob [Supplanter], glorify him! Stand in awe of him, all you descendants of Israel [God prevails]!

Of you comes my tehilah ·praise song· in the great assembly. I will pay my vows before those who fear him.

They shall come and shall declare his righteousness to a people that shall be born, for he has done it.
