The leaders of the people lived in Jerusalem, and the rest of the people cast lots to bring one of ten to live in Jerusalem, the holy city, and the other nine remained in other towns.
2 Ame aɖewo ʋu va Yerusalem le wo ɖokui si, eye wode bubu gã aɖe wo ŋu.
Then the people blessed all those who willingly offered to live in Jerusalem.
3 Kplɔla aɖewo tso du bubuwo me va Yerusalem, ke Israelvi aɖewo, nunɔlawo, Levitɔwo, gbedoxɔmedɔwɔlawo kple Solomo ƒe dɔwɔlawo ƒe dzidzimeviwo dometɔ geɖewo ganɔ woawo ŋutɔ ƒe aƒewo me le du vovovowo me le Yuda,
These are the provincial officials who lived in Jerusalem. However, in the towns of Judah everyone lived on his own land, including some Israelites, priests, Levites, temple servants, and descendants of Solomon's servants.
4 le esime ame aɖewo tso Yuda kple Benyamin nɔ Yerusalem. Yuda ƒe dzidzimeviwo ƒe kplɔlawoe nye: Ataya, Uzia ƒe vi. Uzia fofoe nye Zekaria, ame si fofoe nye Amaria, ame si fofoe nye Sefatia, ame si fofoe nye Mahalalel, ame si nye Perez ƒe dzidzimevi;
In Jerusalem lived some of the descendants of Judah and some of the descendants of Benjamin. The people from Judah included: Athaiah son of Uzziah son of Zechariah son of Amariah son of Shephatiah son of Mahalalel, a descendant of Perez.
5 Maaseya, Baruk ƒe vi, Baruk fofoe nye Kol Hoze, ame si fofoe nye Hazaya, ame si fofoe nye Adaya, ame si fofoe nye Yoyarib, ame si fofoe nye Zekaria, Silonitɔ la ƒe vi.
There was Maaseiah son of Baruch son of Kol-Hozeh son of Hazaiah son of Adaiah son of Joiarib son of Zechariah, the son of the Shilonite.
6 Ame siawo nye Perez ƒe dzidzimevi dzɔatsu alafa ene kple blaade-vɔ-enyi siwo nɔ Yerusalem.
All the sons of Perez who lived in Jerusalem were 468. They were outstanding men.
7 Benyamin ƒe to la ƒe kplɔlawoe nye: Salu, Mesulam ƒe vi. Mesulam fofoe nye Yoed, ame si fofoe nye Pedaya, Kolaya ƒe vi, ame si fofoe nye Maaseya, ame si fofoe nye Itiel, Yesaya ƒe vi.
These are the descendants of Benjamin: Sallu son of Meshullam son of Joed son of Pedaiah son of Kolaiah son of Maaseiah son of Ithiel son of Jeshaiah,
8 Gabai kple Salai ƒe dzidzimevi nye alafa asieke kple blaeve-vɔ-enyi.
and those following him, Gabbai and Sallai, 928 men.
9 Woƒe fiae nye Yoel, Zikri ƒe vi, ame si ƒe kpeɖeŋutɔe nye Yuda, Hasenua ƒe vi. Hasenua nye kplɔla ƒe kpeɖeŋutɔ.
Joel son of Zichri was their overseer, and Judah son of Hassenuah was second in command over the city.

Seraiah son of Hilkiah son of Meshullam son of Zadok son of Meraioth son of Ahitub, the chief official of the house of God,
12 Nunɔla alafa enyi kple blaeve-vɔ-eve nɔ dɔ wɔm le gbedoxɔ la me le ame siawo ƒe dzikpɔkpɔ te. Adaya, Yeroham vi, ame si nye Pelalya vi, ame si nye Amzi vi, ame si nye Zaharia vi, ame si nye Pasur vi, ame si nye Malkiya vi.
and their associates who did the work for the house, 822 men, along with Adaiah son of Jeroham son of Pelaliah son of Amzi son of Zechariah son of Pashhur son of Malchijah.
13 Malkiya ƒe kpeɖeŋutɔwo nye ŋutsu kako alafa eve kple blaene-vɔ-eve; Amasai, Azarel ƒe vi, Ahzai ƒe vi, Mesilemɔt ƒe vi, Imer ƒe vi
His brothers were heads of clans, 242 men; and Amashsai son of Azarel son of Ahzai son of Meshillemoth son of Immer,
14 si ƒe kpeɖeŋutɔwo nye ŋutsu kako alafa ɖeka kple blaeve-vɔ-enyi. Woƒe amegãe nye Zabdiel, Hagedolim ƒe vi.
and their brothers, 128 courageous fighting men; their overseer was Zabdiel son of Haggedolim.
15 Levitɔwo ƒe kplɔlawoe nye: Semaya, Hashub ƒe vi. Hashub fofoe nye Azrikam, ame si fofoe nye Hasabia, Buni ƒe vi;
From the Levites: Shemaiah son of Hasshub son of Azrikam son of Hashabiah son of Bunni,
16 Sabetai kple Yozabad, ame siwo kpɔa dɔwɔlawo le gbedoxɔa godo dzi;
and Shabbethai and Jozabad, who were from the leaders of the Levites and were in charge of the outside work of the house of God.
17 Matania, Mika ƒe vi. Mika fofoe nye Zabdi, Asaf ƒe vi. Mataniae nye ame si dzea akpedasɔlemewo gɔme kple gbedodoɖa. Bakbukia kple Abda, Sanua ƒe vi nye eƒe kpeɖeŋutɔwo. Samua fofoe nye Galal, Yedutun ƒe vi.
There was Mattaniah son of Mika son of Zabdi, a descendant of Asaph, who was the director who began the thanksgiving in prayer, and Bakbukiah, the second among his brothers, and Abda son of Shammua son of Galal son of Jeduthun.
18 Levitɔ siwo nɔ Yerusalem la nɔ ame alafa eve kple blaenyi-vɔ-ene.
All the Levites in the holy city numbered 284.
19 Agbonudzɔlawo: Akub, Talmon kple woƒe kpeɖeŋutɔwo, ame siwo dzɔa agboawo nu le ŋutsu alafa ɖeka kple blaadre-vɔ-eve.
The gatekeepers: Akkub, Talmon, and their associates, who kept watch at the gates, 172 men.
20 Israelvi mamlɛawo, nunɔlawo kple Levitɔwo kaka ɖe Yuda duwo me, ame sia ame nɔ eƒe ƒomenyigba dzi.
The remainder of Israel and of the priests and the Levites were in all the towns of Judah. Everyone lived on his own inherited property.
21 Ke gbedoxɔmedɔwɔlawo katã, ame siwo ƒe kplɔlawoe nye Ziha kple Gispa la nɔ Ofel.
The temple workers lived in Ophel, and Ziha and Gishpa were in charge of them.
22 Levitɔ siwo nɔ Yerusalem la ƒe amegãe nye Uzi, Bani ƒe vi, Hasabia ƒe vi, Matania ƒe vi, Mika ƒe vi. Uzi nye Asaf ƒe dzidzimeviwo dometɔ ɖeka. Dzidzimevi siawoe nye hadzilawo na subɔsubɔ le gbedoxɔ me.
The chief officer over the Levites in Jerusalem was Uzzi son of Bani son of Hashabiah son of Mattaniah son of Mika, of the descendants of Asaph, singers over the work in the house of God.
23 Hadzila siawo nɔ fia la ƒe kpɔkplɔ te, ame si wɔa ɖoɖo ɖe woƒe gbe sia gbe ƒe wɔnawo ŋu.
They were under orders from the king, and firm orders were given for the singers as every day required.
24 Petahia, Mesezabel ƒe vi, ame si dzɔ tso Zera, Yuda ƒe vi me la naa kpekpeɖeŋu le dua dzi ɖuɖu ƒe nyawo katã me.
Then Pethahiah son of Meshezabel, a descendant of Zerah son of Judah, was at the king's side in all matters concerning the people.
25 Yuda ƒe vi siwo nɔ kɔƒewo me le agblewo me la nɔ Kiriat Arba, Dibon kple Yekabzeel kple kɔƒe siwo ƒo xlã wo la.
As for the villages and their fields, some of the people of Judah lived in Kiriath Arba and its villages, and in Dibon and its villages, and in Jekabzeel and its villages,
26 Yesua, Molada, Bet Pelet,
and in Jeshua, Moladah, Beth Pelet,
27 Hazar Sual, Beerseba kple kɔƒe siwo ƒo xlã wo,
Hazar Shual, and Beersheba and its villages.
28 Ziklag; Mekona kple woƒe kɔƒewo,
Some of the people of Judah lived in Ziklag, Mekonah and its villages,
29 Enrimɔn, Zora, Yarmut,
Enrimmon, Zorah, Jarmuth,
30 Zanoa, Adulam kple woƒe kɔƒewo, Lakis kple eƒe agblewo kpakple Azeka kple eƒe duwo. Ale ameawo ƒe nɔƒe tso Beerseba va yi Hinom balime la to.
Zanoah, Adullam, and their villages, and in Lachish its fields and Azekah and its villages. So they lived from Beersheba to the Valley of Hinnom.
31 Benyamin ƒe dzidzimeviwo tso Geba nɔ Mikmas, Aya, Betel kple eƒe kɔƒewo,
The people of Benjamin also lived from Geba onward, at Mikmash and Aija, at Bethel and its villages,
at Anathoth, Nob, Ananiah,
34 Hadid, Zeboim, Nebalat,
Hadid, Zeboim, Neballat,
35 Lod, Ono kple Aɖaŋudɔwɔlawo ƒe Balime.
Lod, and Ono, the valley of craftsmen.
36 Woɖo Levitɔ aɖewo, ame siwo nɔ Yuda la ɖa be woanɔ Benyamin ƒe viwo gbɔ.
Some of the Levites who lived in Judah were assigned to the people of Benjamin.
