1 Esi Yakob se be bli nɔ Egipte la, egblɔ na viawo be, “Nu ka ta miele afi sia le mia nɔewo kpɔm ɖo?
When Iacob sawe that there was corne to be solde in Egipte he sayde vnto his sones: why are ye negligent?
2 Mese be bli le Egipte. Miyi afi ma miaƒle bli vɛ hafi dɔ nawu mí míaku.”
beholde I haue hearde that there is corne to be solde in Egipte. Gete you thither and bye vs corne fro thece that we maye lyue and not dye.
3 Ale Yosef nɔviŋutsu ewo yi Egipte be yewoaƒle bli.
So went Iosephs ten brethern doune to bye corne in Egipte
4 Ke Yakob mena Yosef nɔvi suetɔ Benyamin yi kpli wo o, elabena evɔ̃ be nya aɖe ava adzɔ ɖe edzi abe ale si wòdzɔ ɖe Yosef dzi ene.
for Ben Iamin Iosephs brother wold not Iacob sende with his other brethren: for he sayde: some mysfortune myght happen him
5 Ale Israel ƒe viwo kple ame bubuwo tso anyigba geɖewo dzi va ɖo Egipte be yewoaƒle bli, elabena dɔwuame la nu sesẽ le Kanaan abe teƒe ɖe sia ɖe ene.
And the sonnes of Israell came to bye corne amonge other that came for there was derth also in the lande of Canaan.
6 Esi wònye Yosef tututue nye dziɖula le Egipte katã, eye wònye eyae le blia dzi kpɔm ta la, eya gbɔe nɔviawo yi, eye wodze klo, de ta agu nɛ.
And Ioseph was gouerner in the londe and solde corne to all the people of the londe. And his brethren came and fell flatt on the grounde before him.
7 Yosef dze si wo enumake, gake ewɔ abe ɖe menya wo kura o ene. Eblu ɖe wo ta kple biabia sia be, “Afi ka mietso?” Woɖo eŋu be, “Míetso Kanaanyigba dzi; míeva bli ƒle ge.”
When Ioseph sawe his brethern he knewe them: But made straunge vnto them and spake rughly vnto them saynge: Whence come ye? and they sayde: out of the lande of Canaan to bye vitayle.
8 Togbɔ be Yosef kpɔ nɔviawo dze sii hã la, woawo ya mekpɔe dze sii o.
Ioseph knewe his brethern but they knewe not him.
9 Tete wòɖo ŋku eƒe drɔ̃e siwo wòku tso wo ŋu la dzi, eye wògblɔ na wo be, “Ŋkutsalawoe mienye! Ɖe mieva be yewoakpɔ afi si toƒe le le anyigba la ŋu.”
And Ioseph remembred his dreames which he dreamed of them and sayde vnto them: ye are spies and to se where the lande is weake is youre comynge.
10 Wogblɔ be, “Kpao! Amegã, nuɖuɖu ƒle ge ko míeva;
And they sayde vnto him: nay my lorde: but to bye vitayle thy seruauntes are come.
11 nɔviwo mí katã míenye. Nuteƒewɔlawo míenye. Menye ŋkutsalawoe míenye o!”
We are all one mans sonnes and meane truely and thy seruauntes are no spies.
12 Etee ɖe wo dzi be, “Ɛ̃, ŋkutsalawoe mienye. Mieva be yewoakpɔ ale si nu te mía ŋui la ɖa.”
And he sayde vnto them: nay verely but euen to se where the land is weake is youre comynge.
13 Woɖe wo ɖokuiwo nu be, “Amegã, míele nɔviŋutsu wuieve; mía fofo le Kanaan. Mía nɔviŋutsu suetɔ le afi ma le mía fofo gbɔ, eye mía nɔviŋutsu ɖeka ku.”
And they sayde: we thi seruauntes are. xij. brethern the sonnes of one man in the lande of Canaan. The yongest is yet with oure father and one no man woteth where he is.
14 Yosef yi edzi be, “Nenema? Nu ka esia fia? Efia be ŋkutsalawoe mienye.
Ioseph sayde vnto them that is it that I sayde vnto you that ye are surelye spies.
15 Mɔ si dzi mato ado miaƒe nya la ƒe nyateƒenyenye kpɔe nye esi: meta Farao ƒe agbe na mi be miadzo le Egipte akpɔ o va se ɖe esime mia nɔvi suetɔ nava afi sia.
Here by ye shall be proued. For by the lyfe of Pharao ye shall not goo hence vntyll youre yongest brother be come hither.
16 Mia dometɔ ɖeka neyi wòakplɔ mia nɔvia vɛ! Made mi ame mamlɛawo gaxɔ me. Ekema míanya ne miaƒe nya la nye nyateƒe alo aʋatso. Ne eva eme be nɔviŋutsu suetɔ aɖeke mele mia si o la, ekema manya be ŋkutsalawoe mienye.”
Sende therfore one off you and lett him fett youre brother and ye shalbe in preason in the meane season. And thereby shall youre wordes be proued whether there be any trueth in you: or els by the lyfe of Pharao ye are but spies.
17 Ale wode wo gaxɔ me ŋkeke etɔ̃.
And he put them in warde thre dayes.
18 Le ŋkeke etɔ̃a gbe la, Yosef gblɔ na wo be, “Mawuvɔ̃lae menye. Mana mɔnukpɔkpɔ mi be miana nyateƒe la nadze.
And Ioseph sayde vnto the the thryd daye: This doo and lyue for I feare Gode
19 Metsɔe be mienye nuteƒewɔlawo; mia dometɔ ɖeka koe atsi gaxɔ me le afi sia; ame bubuawo atsɔ bli ayi mia de na miaƒe ƒometɔwo.
Yf ye meane no hurte let one of youre brethern be bounde in the preason and goo ye and brynge the necessarie foode vnto youre housholdes
20 Ke ele be miakplɔ mia nɔvi suetɔ vɛ nam be manya nenye nyateƒe tom miele, eye makpɔ nublanui na mi.” Wolɔ̃ ɖe ɖoɖo sia dzi.
and brynge youre yongest brother vnto me: that youre wordes maye be beleved ad that ye dye not And they did so.
21 Wogblɔ na wo nɔewo be, “Vavãe wole to hem na mí ɖe nu si míewɔ ɖe mía nɔvia ŋuti la ta. Míekpɔ ale si wòxaxae esi wònɔ kuku ɖem na mí ɖe eƒe agbe ta, gake míedo tokui, eya tae xaxa sia va mía dzi ɖo.”
Than they sayde one to a nother: we haue verely synned agaynst oure brother in that we sawe the anguysh of his soull when he besought us and wold not heare him: therfore is this troubyll come apon us.
22 Ruben gblɔ be, “Nyemegblɔe na mi be migawɔe oa? Miegbe toɖoɖom. Azɔ la, míele kuku ge, elabena míewui.”
Ruben answered the saynge: sayde I not vnto you that ye shulde not synne agaynst the lad? but ye wolde not heare And now verely see his bloude is requyred.
23 Womenya be Yosef se nya siwo gblɔm yewole le esime wòtsi tsitre ɖe wo gbɔ la gɔme o, elabena eƒoa nu na wo to nyagɔmeɖela aɖe dzi.
They were not aware that Ioseph vnderstode them for he spake vnto them by an interpreter.
24 Edzo le wo gbɔ yi teƒe aɖe, afi si wòate ŋu afa avi le. Esi wòtrɔ gbɔ la, etɔ asi Simeon dzi, eye wòna woblae le eŋkume.
And he turned from them and wepte and than turned to them agayne ad comened with them and toke out Simeon from amonge the and bownde him before their eyes
25 Emegbe la, Yosef ɖe gbe na eƒe subɔlawo be woade bli ameawo ƒe kotokuwo me, ke egagblɔ na wo le adzame be woatsɔ fe si wo dometɔ ɖe sia ɖe xe la ade eƒe nuɖuɖu dzi le kotokua me! Etsɔ nu si woaɖu le mɔa dzi la hã na wo.
ad commaunded to fyll their saekes wyth corne and to put euery mans money in his sacke and to geue them vitayle to spende by the waye. And so it was done to them.
26 Ale wodo agba na woƒe tedziwo, eye wodze aƒemɔ dzi.
And they laded their asses with the corne and departed thence.
27 Ke esi wotɔ ɖe afi aɖe, eye wo dometɔ ɖeka ʋu eƒe kotoku be yeaɖe blia ƒe ɖe na tedziawo la, ekpɔ eƒe ga le eƒe kotokua me!
And as one of them opened his sacke for to geue his asse prauender in the Inne he spied his money in his sacks mouth
28 Edo ɣli gblɔ na nɔviawo be, “Mikpɔ nam ɖa! Nye gae nye esi le kotokua me!” Vɔvɔ̃ ɖo wo. Wode asi dzodzo me nyanyanya, eye wogblɔ na wo nɔewo be, “Nu kae nye esi Mawu wɔ na mí?”
And he sayde vnto his brethren: my money is restored me agayne and is eue in my sackes mouth Than their hartes fayled them and were astoynyed and sayde one to a nother: how cometh it that God dealeth thus with us?
29 Ale wova ɖo wo fofo, Yakob gbɔ le Kanaan, eye wogblɔ nu siwo katã dzɔ la nɛ.
And they came vnto Iacob their father vnto the lande of Canaan and tolde him all that had happened them saynge.
30 Wogblɔ nɛ be, “Fia la ƒe kpeɖeŋutɔ blu ɖe mía ta, eye wòtsɔ mí abe ŋkutsalawo ene.
The lorde of the lade spake rughly to us and toke us for spyes to serche the countte.
31 Míegblɔ nɛ be, ‘Gbeɖe, nuteƒewɔlawo míenye, menye ŋkutsalawo míenye o.
And we sayde vnto him: we meane truely and are no spies.
32 Míegagblɔ nɛ hã be nɔviŋutsu wuievee míenye, fofo ɖeka ƒe viwo; ɖeka ku, eye suetɔ le mía fofo gbɔ le Kanaanyigba dzi.’
We be. xij. bretren sones of oure father one is awaye and the yongest is now with oure father in the lande of Canaan.
33 Ŋutsu la gblɔ na mi be, ‘Mɔ si dzi mato anya ne mienye nu si miebe yewonye le nyateƒe me lae nye esi: Migblẽ mia nɔvi ɖeka ɖe gbɔnye le afi sia, eye miatsɔ bli ayi aƒee na miaƒe ƒometɔwo,
And the lorde of the countre sayde vnto us: here by shall I knowe yf ye meane truely: leaue one of youre brethern here with me and take foode necessary for youre housholdes and get you awaye
34 gake mikplɔ mia nɔvi suetɔ vɛ nam. Ekema manya nenye ŋkutsalawo mienye loo alo nuteƒewɔlawo mienye. Ne miete ŋu ɖe nu si miebe yewonye fia la, ekema maɖe asi le mia nɔvia ŋu na mi, eye miate ŋu ava aƒle bli le afi sia ɣe sia ɣi si mielɔ̃ la.’”
and brynge youre yongest brother vnto me And thereby shall I knowe that ye are no spyes but meane truely: So will I delyuer you youre brother agayne and ye shall occupie in the lande.
35 Esi wotrɔ bli la le kotokuawo me la, wokpɔ ga si woxe ɖe blia ta le kotokuawo me! Vɔvɔ̃ ɖo wo kple wo fofo siaa.
And as they emptied their sackes beholde: euery mans bundell of money was in his sacke And when both they and their father sawe the bundells of money they were afrayde.
36 Tete Yakob do ɣli be, “Miena vinyewo le bubum ɖem. Yosef metrɔ gbɔ o; Simeon hã yi, eye azɔ miedi be yewoakplɔ Benyamin hã ayii! Nu sia nu tsi tsitre ɖe ŋunye!”
And Iacob their father sayde vnto them: Me haue ye robbed of my childern: Ioseph is away and Simeon is awaye and ye will take Ben Iamin awaye. All these thinges fall vpon me.
37 Ruben gblɔ na fofoa be, “Ne nyemekplɔ Benyamin gbɔe o la, ekema, wu vinye ŋutsuvi eveawo. Makpɔ Benyamin dzi wòanɔ dedie.”
Ruben answered his father saynge: Slee my two sonnes yf I bringe him not to the agayne. Delyuer him therfore to my honde and I will brynge him to the agayne:
38 Ke Yakob ɖo eŋu be, “Vinye Benyamin mayi kpli mi o, elabena nɔvia Yosef ku, eye Benyamin koe nye dadaa ƒe vi si susɔ. Ne nane wɔe la, ku ko maku.” (Sheol h7585)
And he sayde: my sonne shall not go downe with you. For his brother is dead and he is left alone Moreouer some mysfortune myght happen vpon him by the waye which ye goo. And so shuld ye brynge my gray head with sorowe vnto the graue. (Sheol h7585)
