< Hezekiel 36 >
1 “Ame vi, gblɔ nya ɖi ɖe Israel towo ŋu, eye nàgblɔ be, ‘O! Israel towo, mise Yehowa ƒe nya.
And thou, son of man, prophesy unto the mountains of Israel, and say, Mountains of Israel, hear the word of Jehovah.
2 Aƒetɔ Yehowa be, futɔ la gblɔ tso ŋuwò be, “Ahã! Gbe aɖe gbe ƒe towo zu mía tɔ.”’
Thus saith the Lord Jehovah: Because the enemy hath said against you, Aha! and, The ancient high places are become ours in possession;
3 Eya ta gblɔ nya ɖi be, ‘Nya si Aƒetɔ Yehowa gblɔe nye be, esi wogblẽ mi, eye woɖe aɖutame ɖe mia ŋu le goawo katã me be miazu dukɔ mamlɛawo tɔ kple woƒe alɔmeɖenu kple ɖiŋudonu ta la,
therefore prophesy and say, Thus saith the Lord Jehovah: Because, yea, because they have made [you] desolate, and have swallowed you up on every side, that ye might be a possession unto the remnant of the nations, and ye are taken up in the lips of talkers, and in the defaming of the people:
4 eya ta, O! Israel towo, mise Aƒetɔ Yehowa ƒe nyawo. Nya si Aƒetɔ Yehowa gblɔ na towo kple togbɛwo, gbadzaƒewo kple balimewo, gbegbewo kple aƒedo duwo, teƒe siwo dukɔ siwo ƒo xlã mi ha, eye wodo vlo mi la,’
therefore, ye mountains of Israel, hear the word of the Lord Jehovah. Thus saith the Lord Jehovah to the mountains and to the hills, to the water-courses and to the valleys, to the desolate wastes and to the cities that are forsaken, which are become a prey and a derision to the remnant of the nations that are round about,
5 Aƒetɔ Yehowa be, ‘Metsɔ nye ŋuʋaʋã ƒe dzo bibi ƒo nu ɖe dukɔ mamlɛawo kple Edom ŋu, elabena wotsɔ dzidzɔ kple ta me vɔ̃ ɖoɖo wɔ nye anyigba wo tɔe, ale be woaha eƒe lãnyiƒewo.
— therefore thus saith the Lord Jehovah: Surely in the fire of my jealousy have I spoken against the remnant of the nations, and against the whole of Edom, which have appointed my land unto themselves for a possession with the joy of all [their] heart, with despite of soul, to plunder it by pillage.
6 Eya ta gblɔ nya ɖi tso Israelnyigba ŋuti, eye nàgblɔ na towo kple togbɛwo, gbadzaƒewo kple balimewo be, “Aƒetɔ Yehowa be, mele nu ƒom le nye ŋuʋaʋã ƒe dziku me, elabena miekpe fu le dukɔwo ƒe fewuɖuɖu me.
Prophesy therefore concerning the land of Israel, and say to the mountains and to the hills, to the water-courses and to the valleys, Thus saith the Lord Jehovah: Behold, I have spoken in my jealousy and in my fury, because ye have borne the ignominy of the nations;
7 Eya ta aleae Aƒetɔ Yehowa gblɔe nye si. Mekɔ nye asi dzi heka atam be woaɖu fewu le dukɔ siwo ƒo xlã mi la hã ŋu.”’
therefore thus saith the Lord Jehovah: I have lifted up my hand, [saying, ] Verily the nations that are about you, they shall bear their shame.
8 “Ke miawo, O! Israel towo, miatse ku geɖewo na nye dukɔ Israel, elabena woƒe gbɔgbɔɣi tu aƒe.
And ye mountains of Israel shall shoot forth your branches, and yield your fruit to my people Israel: for they are at hand to come.
9 Metsi dzi ɖe mia ŋu, eye makpɔ nublanui na mi. Woaŋlɔ mi, woaƒã nukuwo ɖe mia dzi,
For behold, I am for you, and I will turn unto you, and ye shall be tilled and sown.
10 eye mana amewo nasɔ gbɔ ɖe mia dzi, Israel ƒe aƒe blibo la gɔ̃ hã. Amewo anɔ duawo me, eye woagbugbɔ du gbagbãwo atu.
And I will multiply men upon you, all the house of Israel, the whole of it; and the cities shall be inhabited, and the waste places shall be builded.
11 Madzi amewo kple lãwo ƒe agbɔsɔsɔ ɖe edzi le mia dzi, woadzi, eye woasɔ gbɔ. Mana amewo nanɔ mia dzi abe tsã ene, eye nuwo anyo na mi wu tsã. Ekema mianya be, nyee nye Yehowa.
And I will multiply upon you man and beast, and they shall increase and bring forth fruit; and I will cause you to be inhabited as [in] your former times, yea, I will make it better than at your beginnings: and ye shall know that I [am] Jehovah.
12 Mana nye dukɔ, nye dukɔ, Israel, nazɔ le dziwò. Woaxɔ wò, eye nànye woƒe domenyinu; miagaxɔ wò viwo le wo si azɔ o.
And I will cause men to walk upon you, even my people Israel; and they shall possess thee, and thou shalt be their inheritance, and thou shalt no more henceforth bereave them of children.
13 “Aleae Aƒetɔ Yehowa gblɔe nye esi, ‘Esi amewo gblɔna na mi be mieɖua amelã, eye mieɖea vi ɖa le miaƒe dukɔ ŋuti ta la,
Thus saith the Lord Jehovah: Because they say unto you, Thou devourest men, and hast bereaved thy nation,
14 miagaɖu amelã azɔ o, eye miagatsrɔ̃ ɖeviwo na dukɔa azɔ o. Aƒetɔ Yehowae gblɔe.
therefore thou shalt devour men no more, neither bereave thy nation any more, saith the Lord Jehovah;
15 Nyemagana miase dukɔwo ƒe fewuɖuɖu le mia ŋu o, eye dukɔwo magado vlo mi alo ana miaƒe dukɔ la nadze anyi o. Aƒetɔ Yehowae gblɔe.’”
neither will I cause thee to hear the ignominy of the nations any more, and thou shalt not bear the reproach of the peoples any more, neither shalt thou cause thy nation to fall any more, saith the Lord Jehovah.
16 Aƒetɔ Yehowa ƒe nya gava nam be,
And the word of Jehovah came unto me, saying,
17 “Ame vi, esime Israelviwo nɔ woawo ŋutɔ ƒe anyigba dzi la, wodo gui to woƒe nɔnɔme kple wɔnawo me. Woƒe nɔnɔme le abe nyɔnu ƒe dzinukpɔkpɔ ene le nye ŋkume.
Son of man, when the house of Israel dwelt in their own land, they defiled it by their way and by their doings: their way was before me as the uncleanness of a woman in her separation.
18 Eya ta metrɔ nye dziku kɔ ɖe wo dzi, elabena wokɔ ʋu ɖe anyigba la dzi, eye wogblẽ kɔ ɖo nɛ kple woƒe legbawo.
And I poured out my fury upon them for the blood that they had shed upon the land, and because they had defiled it with their idols.
19 Mekaka wo ɖe dukɔwo dome, eye wokaka wo hlẽ ɖe anyigbawo dzi. Medrɔ̃ ʋɔnu wo ɖe woƒe nɔnɔme kple wɔnawo nu.
And I scattered them among the nations, and they were dispersed through the countries: according to their way and according to their doings I judged them.
20 Eye afi sia afi si woyi le dukɔwo dome la, wodoa gu nye ŋkɔ kɔkɔe la, elabena wogblɔ tso wo ŋu be, ‘Ame siawo nye Yehowa ƒe amewo, ke ele na wo be woadzo le anyigba la dzi.’
And when they came to the nations whither they went, they profaned my holy name, when it was said of them, These are the people of Jehovah, and they are gone forth out of his land.
21 Metsi dzi ɖe nye ŋkɔ kɔkɔe la ŋu, ŋkɔ si Israel ƒe aƒe la do gui le dukɔ siwo me woyi la ŋkume.”
But I had pity for my holy name, which the house of Israel had profaned among the nations whither they went.
22 Eya ta gblɔ na Israel ƒe aƒe la be, ale Aƒetɔ Yehowa gblɔe nye esi, “O! Israel ƒe aƒe, menye miawo tae mele nu siawo wɔ ge o, ke nye ŋkɔ kɔkɔe si miedo gui le dukɔ siwo me mieyi la tae.
Therefore say unto the house of Israel, Thus saith the Lord Jehovah: I do not this for your sakes, O house of Israel, but for my holy name, which ye have profaned among the nations whither ye went.
23 Mafia nye ŋkɔ gã la ƒe kɔkɔenyenye si wodo gui le dukɔwo dome, ŋkɔ si miedo gui le wo dome. Ekema dukɔawo anya be nyee nye Yehowa, Aƒetɔ Yehowae gblɔe, ne mefia ɖokuinye kɔkɔe to mia dzi le woƒe ŋkume.
And I will hallow my great name, which was profaned among the nations, which ye have profaned in the midst of them; and the nations shall know that I [am] Jehovah, saith the Lord Jehovah, when I shall be hallowed in you before their eyes.
24 “Elabena maɖe mi le dukɔawo dome, maƒo mia nu ƒu tso anyigbawo katã dzi, eye makplɔ mi ava miawo ŋutɔ ƒe anyigba dzi.
And I will take you from among the nations, and gather you out of all the countries, and will bring you into your own land.
And I will sprinkle clean water upon you, and ye shall be clean: from all your uncleannesses and from all your idols will I cleanse you.
26 Mana dzi yeye mi, eye made gbɔgbɔ yeye mia me; maɖe miaƒe kpedzi ɖa le mia me, eye mana lãkusidzi mi.
And I will give you a new heart, and I will put a new spirit within you; and I will take away the stony heart out of your flesh, and I will give you a heart of flesh.
27 Made nye Gbɔgbɔ mia me, mana miawɔ nye ɖoɖowo dzi, eye mialé nye seawo me ɖe asi.
And I will put my Spirit within you, and cause you to walk in my statutes and keep mine ordinances, and ye shall do them.
28 Mianɔ anyigba si metsɔ na mia tɔgbuiwo la dzi; mianye nye amewo, eye manye miaƒe Mawu.
And ye shall dwell in the land that I gave to your fathers, and ye shall be my people, and I will be your God.
29 Maɖe mi tso miaƒe nu makɔmakɔwo katã me. Mana bli nasɔ gbɔ na mi, eye nyemana dɔwuame nava mia dzi o.
And I will save you from all your uncleannesses; and I will call for the corn and will multiply it, and lay no famine upon you.
30 Madzi atikutsetsewo kple miaƒe agblemenukuwo ɖe edzi, ale be miagaɖu ŋukpe le dukɔwo dome le dɔwuame ta o.
And I will multiply the fruit of the trees and the increase of the field, so that ye may receive no more the reproach of famine among the nations.
31 Ekema miaɖo ŋku miaƒe mɔ vɔ̃wo kple miaƒe ŋutasẽnuwɔwɔwo dzi, eye miaƒe nu anyɔ ŋu na miawo ŋutɔ le miaƒe nu vɔ̃wo kple nuwɔna vlowo ta.
And ye shall remember your evil ways, and your doings which were not good, and shall loathe yourselves for your iniquities and for your abominations.
32 Medi be mianya be nyemele nu siawo wɔm le mia ta o; Aƒetɔ Yehowae gblɔe. Mina ŋu nakpe mi, eye miaɖi gbɔ̃ mia ɖokui le miaƒe wɔnawo ta, O! Israel ƒe aƒe.”
Not for your sakes do I this, saith the Lord Jehovah, be it known unto you: be ashamed and confounded for your ways, O house of Israel.
Thus saith the Lord Jehovah: In the day that I shall cleanse you from all your iniquities I will also cause the cities to be inhabited, and the waste places shall be builded.
34 Woade agble ɖe gbegbewo, eye womaganye gbegbe le emetsolawo ŋkume o.
And the desolate land shall be tilled, whereas it was a desolation in the sight of all that passed by.
35 Woagblɔ be anyigba si nye gbegbe tsã la, va ɖi Edenbɔ azɔ. Du siwo gbã, eye wozu aƒedo tsã la, woglã wo, eye amewo le wo me.
And they shall say, This land that was desolate is become like the garden of Eden; and the waste and desolate and ruined cities [are] fortified [and] inhabited.
36 Ekema dukɔ siwo susɔ ƒo xlã mi la anya be, nye Yehowae gbugbɔ du siwo wogbã la tu, eye medo nukuwo ɖe gbegbewo. Nye Yehowae gblɔe, eye mawɔe hã.”
And the nations that shall be left round about you shall know that I Jehovah build the ruined places [and] plant that which was desolate: I Jehovah have spoken, and I will do [it].
37 “Ale Aƒetɔ Yehowa gblɔe nye esi: ‘Magaɖo to Israel ƒe aƒe ƒe kokoƒoƒo, eye mawɔ nu sia na wo. Mana eƒe amewo nasɔ gbɔ abe alẽwo ene,
Thus saith the Lord Jehovah: I will yet for this be inquired of by the house of Israel, to do it unto them; I will increase them with men like a flock.
38 abe alẽ siwo woatsɔ asa vɔwoe le Yerusalem le ŋkekenyuiɖuɣiwo ene. Nenemae amewo ayɔ du siwo gbã la me. Ekema woanya be, nyee nye Yehowa.’”
As the holy flock, as the flock of Jerusalem in her set feasts, so shall the waste cities be filled with flocks of men: and they shall know that I [am] Jehovah.
