< Samuel 2 23 >

1 David ƒe nya mamlɛtɔwoe nye esiawo: “David, Yese ƒe vi le nu ƒom, David, ame si Yehowa, do ɖe dzi, David, Yakob ƒe Mawu ƒe amesiamina, David, Israel ƒe Psalmo viviwo kpala.
Now these be the last words of David. David the son of Jesse saith, and the man who was raised on high saith, the anointed of the God of Jacob, and the sweet psalmist of Israel:
2 “Yehowa ƒe Gbɔgbɔ ƒo nu to dzinye eye eƒe nya le nye aɖe dzi.
The spirit of the LORD spake by me, and his word was upon my tongue.
3 Israel ƒe Agakpe la gblɔ nam be, ‘Ame si ɖua dzi kple dzɔdzɔenyenye le mawuvɔvɔ̃ me la,
The God of Israel said, the Rock of Israel spake to me: One that ruleth over men righteously, that ruleth in the fear of God,
4 anɔ abe ŋdikekeli ene, ɣe keklẽ si ŋgɔ lilikpo mexe o si naa gbe mumu dona tso anyigba me le ɣe keklẽ kple tsidzadza megbe ene.’
[He shall be] as the light of the morning, when the sun riseth, a morning without clouds; [when] the tender grass [springeth] out of the earth, through clear shining after rain.
Verily my house is not so with God; yet he hath made with me an everlasting covenant, ordered in all things, and sure: for it is all my salvation, and all [my] desire, although he maketh it not to grow.
6 Ke woaɖe ame vɔ̃ɖiwo katã ɖe aga abe ŋutiwo wonye ene. Ŋuti si womefɔna kple asi o.
But the ungodly shall be all of them as thorns to be thrust away, for they cannot be taken with the hand:
7 Ame si di be yeafɔ ŋuti la tsɔa nu lénɛ, ƒoa ƒui, tɔa dzoe le afi si wòƒo ƒui ɖo.”
But the man that toucheth them must be armed with iron and the staff of a spear; and they shall be utterly burned with fire in [their] place.
8 Kalẽtɔ xɔŋkɔ etɔ̃ siwo nɔ David ƒe aʋakɔ la me woe nye esiawo: Gbãtɔe nye Yoseb Basebet, tso Tahkemɔn, si wogayɔna be Adino, Eznitɔ la, ame si nye ame etɔ̃awo ƒe tatɔ. Ewu ame alafa enyi kpɔ le aʋakpekpe ɖeka me.
These be the names of the mighty men whom David had: Josheb-basshebeth a Tahchemonite, chief of the captains; the same was Adino the Eznite, against eight hundred slain at one time.
9 Ame Sesẽ Etɔ̃awo dometɔ eveliae nye Eleazar, Dodai ƒe vi, ame si nye Ahohitɔ.
And after him was Eleazar the son of Dodai the son of an Ahohite, one of the three mighty men with David, when they defied the Philistines that were there gathered together to battle, and the men of Israel were gone away:
10 Ewu Filistitɔwo va se ɖe esime ɖeɖi te eƒe asi ŋu eye magate ŋu alé yi o; Yehowa na dziɖuɖu gã aɖee. Aʋawɔla mamlɛawo megatrɔ gbɔ o va se ɖe esime ɣeyiɣi ɖo hena afunyinuwo haha!
He arose, and smote the Philistines until his hand was weary, and his hand clave unto the sword: and the LORD wrought a great victory that day; and the people returned after him only to spoil.
11 Ame si kplɔe ɖo lae nye Sama, Agee ƒe vi, tso Harar. Gbe ɖeka le aʋakpekpe aɖe kple Filistitɔwo me le teƒe aɖe si bli le fũu eye Israel ƒe aʋawɔlawo katã si la,
And after him was Shammah the son of Agce a Hararite. And the Philistines were gathered together into a troop, where was a plot of ground full of lentils; and the people fled from the Philistines.
12 Sama ɖeka tɔ ɖe bligble la titina eye wòxɔe hewu Filistitɔwo. Yehowa na wòɖu dzi gã aɖe.
But he stood in the midst of the plot, and defended it, and slew the Philistines: and the LORD wrought a great victory.
13 Gbe ɖeka, esime David nɔ agado me le Adulam eye Filistitɔwo ƒe aʋawɔlawo nɔ Refaim balime la, ame etɔ̃ tso Israelviwo ƒe aʋafia xɔŋkɔtɔ blaetɔ̃ me yi ɖakpɔe ɖa le nuŋeɣi.
And three of the thirty chief went down, and came to David in the harvest time unto the cave of Adullam; and the troop of the Philistines were encamped in the valley of Rephaim.
14 David nɔ mɔ la me eye Filistitɔwo ƒe aʋakɔ ɖo Betlehem le ɣe ma ɣi.
And David was then in the hold, and the garrison of the Philistines was then in Beth-lehem.
15 David gblɔ kple didi be, “Tsikɔ le wunyem vevie. Oo, ne ame aɖe aku tsi tso vudo si le Betlehem ƒe agbo nu la me vɛ nam la, anyo ŋutɔ.”
And David longed and said, Oh that one would give me water to drink of the well of Beth-lehem which is by the gate!
16 Ale aʋafia etɔ̃ siawo to Filistitɔwo dome, ku tsi tso vudo si te ɖe Betlehem ƒe agbo ŋu me yi na David. Ke David gbe meno tsi la o, ke boŋ etrɔe kɔ ɖi le Yehowa ƒe ŋkume,
And the three mighty men brake through the host of the Philistines, and drew water out of the well of Beth-lehem, that was by the gate, and took it, and brought it to David: but he would not drink thereof, but poured it out unto the LORD.
17 hegblɔ be, “Yehowa, nyemate ŋu awɔ esia gbeɖe o!” “Esiae nye ame etɔ̃ siwo tsɔ woƒe agbe ke la ƒe ʋu.”
And he said, Be it far from me, O LORD, that I should do this: [shall I drink] the blood of the men that went in jeopardy of their lives? therefore he would not drink it. These things did the three mighty men.

Ezu woƒe kplɔla togbɔ be womebui ɖe wo dome o hã.
Was he not most honourable of the three? therefore he was made their captain: howbeit he attained not unto the [first] three.
20 Benaya Yehoiada ƒe vi, ame si fofo nye aʋawɔla kalẽtɔ aɖe tso Kabzeel la wu ame dzɔtsu xɔŋkɔ eve siwo nɔ Moab nyigba dzi. Emegbe la, egawu dzata le do aɖe me gbe si gbe sno dza.
And Benaiah the son of Jehoiada, the son of a valiant man of Kabzeel, who had done mighty deeds, he slew the two [sons of] Ariel of Moab: he went down also and slew a lion in the midst of a pit in time of snow:
21 Le ɣeyiɣi bubu hã la, ewu Egiptetɔ aɖe. Togbɔ be Egiptetɔ la lé akplɔ ɖe asi hã la, Benaya lũ ɖe edzi kple kpo, dui le esi eye wòtsɔ Egiptetɔ la ŋutɔ ƒe akplɔ wui.
And he slew an Egyptian, a goodly man: and the Egyptian had a spear in his hand; but he went down to him with a staff, and plucked the spear out of the Egyptian’s hand, and slew him with his own spear.
22 Nu siawoe Benaya, Yehoiada ƒe vi wɔ. Eya hã xɔ ŋkɔ abe ame sesẽ etɔ̃awo ene.
These things did Benaiah the son of Jehoiada, and had a name among the three mighty men.
23 Wobunɛ wu ame xɔŋkɔ Blaetɔ̃awo dometɔ ɖe sia ɖe gake womedee ame Etɔ̃awo dome o. Ke David tsɔe ɖo eŋudzɔlawo nu.
