1 Azɔ la Eliya, Tisbitɔ si tso Tisbi le Gilead la va gblɔ na Ahab be, “Meta Yehowa, Israel ƒe Mawu la ƒe agbe, ame si mesubɔna la be zãmu loo alo tsi madza le ƒe siwo gbɔna la me o negbe le nye nya nu ko.”
And Elias the Thesbite of the inhabitants of Galaad said to Achab: As the Lord liveth the God of Israel, in whose sight I stand, there shall not be dew nor rain these years, but according to the words of my mouth.
2 Yehowa gblɔ na Eliya bena,
And the word of the Lord came to him, saying:
3 “Yi ɣedzeƒe eye nàbe ɖe Kerit tɔʋu la to, le afi si tɔʋu sia de nu Yɔdan tɔsisi la me le la ƒe ɣedzeƒe lɔƒo.
Get thee hence, and go towards the east and hide thyself by the torrent of Carith, which is over against the Jordan,

And there thou shalt drink of the torrent: and I have commanded the ravens to feed thee there.
5 Ale Eliya wɔ nu si Yehowa ɖo nɛ eye wònɔ tɔʋu la to.
So he went, and did according to the word of the Lord: and going, he dwelt by the torrent Carith, which is over against the Jordan.
6 Akpaviãwo tsɔa abolo kple lã vanɛ nɛ gbe sia gbe, ŋdi kple fiẽ eye wònoa tsi le tɔʋu la me.
And the ravens brought him bread and flesh in the morning, and bread and flesh in the evening, and he drank of tile torrent.
7 Ke le ɣeyiɣi aɖe megbe la, tɔʋu la mie elabena tsi megadza ɖe anyigba la dzi kpɔ o.
But after some time the torrent was dried up, for it had not rained upon the earth.
8 Yehowa ƒe nya va na Eliya bena,
Then the word of the Lord came to him, saying:
9 “Yi Sidon ƒe Zarefat enumake eye nànɔ afi ma. Megblɔ na ahosi aɖe le afi ma be wòana nuɖuɖu wò.”
Arise, and go to Sarephta of the Sidonians, and dwell there: for I have commanded a widow woman there to feed thee.
10 Ale wòyi ɖe Zarefat. Esi wòva ɖo Zarefat ƒe agbo nu la, ahosi aɖe nɔ afi ma, nɔ nake fɔm. Eyɔe eye wòbiae be, “Àku tsi vi aɖe ɖe kplu me vɛ nam manoa?”
He arose, and went to Sarephta. And when he was come to the gate of the city, he saw the widow woman gathering sticks, and he called her, and said to her: Give me a little water in a vessel, that I may drink.
11 Esi ahosi la trɔ yina be yeaku tsi la vɛ nɛ la, Eliya yɔe, gblɔ nɛ be, “Nyo dɔ me nàtsɔ abolo aɖe hã kpe ɖe tsi la ŋu vɛ nam.”
And when she was going to fetch it he called after her, saying: Bring me also, I beseech thee, a morsel of bread in thy hand.
12 Ahosi la ɖo eŋu nɛ be, “Meta Yehowa, wò Mawu la ƒe agbe be, abolo aɖeke mele asinye o negbe wɔ asiʋlo ɖeka si le wɔze me kple ami sue aɖe si le amigoe me ko. Mele nake ʋɛ siawo fɔm atsɔ ayi aƒe mee ne maɖa nu nye kple vinye ŋutsu míaɖu eye míaku.”
And she answered: As the Lord thy God liveth, I have no bread, but only a handful of meal in a pot, and a little oil in a cruse: behold I am gathering two sticks that I may go in and dress it, for me and my son, that we may eat it, and die.
13 Eliya gblɔ nɛ be, “Mègavɔ̃ o; yi aƒe me eye nàwɔ abe ale si nègblɔ ene gake gbã la, ƒo abolo sue aɖe kple wɔ la ƒe ɖe eye nàtsɔe vɛ nam. Emegbe nàɖa nane na wò ŋutɔ kple viwò ŋutsu la
And Elias said to her: Fear not, but go, and do as thou hast said: but first make for me of the same meal a little hearth cake, and bring it to me: and after make for thyself and thy son.
14 elabena ale Yehowa, Israel ƒe Mawu la gblɔe nye si, ‘Wɔ mavɔ le wò wɔze me o eye ami hã mavɔ le wò amigoe me o va se ɖe esime Yehowa nana tsi nadza ɖe anyigba dzi.’”
For thus saith the Lord the God of Israel: The pot of meal shall not waste, nor the cruse of oil be diminished, until the day wherein the Lord will give rain upon the face of the earth.
15 Ale ahosi la wɔ nu si Eliya gblɔ nɛ eye Eliya kple eya kple via siaa kpɔa nuɖuɖu tso wɔ la kple ami la me ŋkeke ale si wohiã wo.
She went and did according to the word of Elias: and he ate, and she, and her house: and from that day
16 Elabena wɔ mevɔ le wɔze la me eye ami hã mevɔ le amigoe la me o le nya si Yehowa gblɔ to Eliya dzi la nu.
The pot of meal wasted not, and the cruse of oil was not diminished, according to the word of the Lord, which he spoke in the hand of Elias.
17 Le ɣeyiɣi aɖewo megbe la, nyɔnu si nye aƒea nɔ la ƒe viŋutsu dze dɔ. Dɔ la sesẽ nɛ tso ŋkeke me yi ŋkeke me eye mlɔeba la, eƒe gbɔgbɔ nu tso.
And it came to pass after this that the son of the woman, the mistress of the house, fell sick, and the sickness was very grievous, so that there was no breath left in him.
18 Egblɔ na Eliya be, “Oo Mawu ƒe ame, nya kae le asiwò ɖe ŋutinye? Ɖe nèva be yeaɖo ŋku nye nu vɔ̃wo dzi nam eye nàwu vinyeŋutsua?”
And she said to Elias: What have I to do with thee, thou man of God? art thou come to me that my iniquities should be remembered, and that thou shouldst kill my son?
19 Eliya ɖo eŋu nɛ be, “Tsɔ viwò ŋutsuvi la nam.” Exɔe le eƒe abɔwo dome hetsɔe yi eƒe xɔ me le dziƒoxɔ dzi eye wòtsɔe mlɔ eƒe aba dzi.
And Elias said to her: Give me thy son. And he took him out of her bosom, and carried him into the upper chamber where he abode, and laid him upon his own bed.
20 Tete wòdo ɣli na Yehowa be, “Oo Yehowa, nye Mawu, ɖe nèhe dzɔgbevɔ̃e va ahosi si gbɔ mele la hã dzi eye nèna via ŋutsuvi la kua?”
And he cried to the Lord, and said: O Lord my God, hast thou afflicted also the widow, with whom I am after a so maintained, so as to kill her son?
21 Eliya dra ɖe ɖevi la dzi zi etɔ̃ eye wòdo ɣli na Yehowa, be, “Oo, Yehowa, nye Mawu, na be ɖevi sia ƒe agbe natrɔ ava eme!”
And he stretched, and measured himself upon the child three times, and cried to the Lord, and said: O Lord my God, let the soul of this child, I beseech thee, return into his body.
22 Yehowa se Eliya ƒe gbedodoɖa, ale ɖevi la ƒe gbɔgbɔ gbugbɔ va eme eye wòtsi agbe.
And the Lord heard the voice of Elias: and the soul of the child returned into him, and he revived.

And Elias took the child, and brought him down from the upper chamber to the house below, and delivered him to his mother, and said to her: Behold thy son liveth.
24 Ahosi la gblɔ nɛ be, “Azɔ la, menya be Mawu ƒe amee nènye eye Yehowa ƒe nya si do tso wò nu me la nye nyateƒe.”
And the woman said to Elias: Now, by this I know that thou art a man of God, and the word of the Lord in thy mouth is true.
