Isaiah 7
1 And it cometh to pass in the days of Ahaz, son of Jotham, son of Uzziah, king of Judah, gone up hath Rezin king of Aram, and Pekah, son of Remaliah, king of Israel, to Jerusalem, to battle against it, and he is not able to fight against it.
| در زمانی که آحاز (پسر یوتام و نوهٔ عزیا) بر یهودا سلطنت می‌کرد، رصین، پادشاه سوریه و فقح (پسر رملیا)، پادشاه اسرائیل به اورشلیم حمله کردند، ولی نتوانستند آن را تصرف کنند. |
2 And it is declared to the house of David, saying, 'Aram hath been led towards Ephraim,' And his heart and the heart of his people is moved, like the moving of trees of a forest by the presence of wind.
| وقتی به خاندان داوود خبر رسید که سوریه و اسرائیل با هم متحد شده‌اند تا با یهودا بجنگند، دل پادشاه یهودا و قوم او از ترس لرزید، همان‌طور که درختان جنگل در برابر طوفان می‌لرزند. |
3 And Jehovah saith unto Isaiah, 'Go forth, I pray thee, to meet Ahaz, thou, and Shear-Jashub thy son, unto the end of the conduit of the upper pool, unto the highway of the fuller's field,
| سپس خداوند به اشعیا فرمود: «تو با پسرت شاریاشوب به دیدن آحاز پادشاه برو. او را در جاده‌ای که رختشویها در آن کار می‌کنند، در انتهای قنات حوض بالایی پیدا خواهی کرد. |
4 and thou hast said unto him: 'Take heed, and be quiet, fear not, And let not thy heart be timid, Because of these two tails of smoking brands, For the fierceness of the anger of Rezin and Aram, And the son of Remaliah.
| به او بگو که نگران نباشد، فقط آماده باشد و آرام بنشیند. آتش خشم رصین پادشاه سوریه و فقح پسر رملیا مانند دودی است که از دو تکه هیزم بلند می‌شود؛ بگو از آنها نترسد. |
5 Because that Aram counselled against thee evil, Ephraim and the son of Remaliah, saying:
| بله، پادشاهان سوریه و اسرائیل بر ضد یهودا با هم تبانی کرده، می‌گویند: |
6 We go up into Judah, and we vex it, And we rend it unto ourselves, And we cause a king to reign in its midst — The son of Tabeal.
| ”بیایید به یهودا لشکرکشی کنیم و مردمانش را به وحشت اندازیم و آن را تسخیر کرده، پسر طبئیل را بر تخت پادشاهی بنشانیم.“ |
7 Thus said the Lord Jehovah: It doth not stand, nor shall it be!
| «اما من که خداوند هستم می‌گویم که این نقشه عملی نخواهد شد، |
8 For the head of Aram [is] Damascus, And the head of Damascus [is] Rezin, And within sixty and five years Is Ephraim broken from [being] a people.
| زیرا قدرت سوریه محدود است به پایتختش دمشق و قدرت دمشق نیز محدود است به پادشاهش رصین. همچنین اسرائیل نیز قدرتی بیش از پایتختش سامره و سامره نیز قدرتی بیش از پادشاهش فقح ندارد. بدانید که پادشاهی اسرائیل در عرض شصت و پنج سال از بین خواهد رفت. آیا این را باور می‌کنید؟ اگر سخنان مرا باور نکنید شما نیز از بین خواهید رفت.» |
9 And the head of Ephraim [is] Samaria, And the head of Samaria [is] the son of Remaliah. If ye do not give credence, Surely ye are not stedfast.'
10 And Jehovah addeth to speak unto Ahaz, saying:
| سپس خداوند پیام دیگری برای آحاز پادشاه فرستاد: |
11 'Ask for thee a sign from Jehovah thy God, Make deep the request, or make [it] high upwards.' (Sheol h7585)
| «ای آحاز، از من علامتی بخواه تا مطمئن شوی که دشمنانت را شکست خواهم داد. هر علامتی که بخواهی، چه در زمین باشد چه در آسمان، برایت انجام خواهد شد.» (Sheol h7585) |
12 And Ahaz saith, 'I do not ask nor try Jehovah.'
| اما پادشاه قبول نکرد و گفت: «این کار را نخواهم کرد و خداوند را امتحان نخواهم نمود.» |
13 And he saith, 'Hear, I pray you, O house of David, Is it a little thing for you to weary men, That ye weary also my God?
| پس اشعیا گفت: «ای خاندان داوود، آیا این کافی نیست که مردم را از خود بیزار کرده‌اید؟ اینک می‌خواهید خدای مرا نیز از خود بیزار کنید؟ |
14 Therefore the Lord Himself giveth to you a sign, Lo, the Virgin is conceiving, And is bringing forth a son, And hath called his name Immanuel,
| حال که چنین است خداوند خودش علامتی به شما خواهد داد. آن علامت این است که باکره آبستن شده، پسری به دنیا خواهد آورد و نامش را عمانوئیل خواهد گذاشت. |
15 Butter and honey he doth eat, When he knoweth to refuse evil, and to fix on good.
| قبل از اینکه این پسر از شیر گرفته شود و خوب و بد را تشخیص دهد، سرزمین این دو پادشاه که اینقدر از آنها وحشت دارید، متروک خواهد شد. |
16 For before the youth doth know To refuse evil, and to fix on good, Forsaken is the land thou art vexed with, because of her two kings.
17 Jehovah bringeth on thee, and on thy people, And on the house of thy father, Days that have not come, Even from the day of the turning aside of Ephraim from Judah, By the king of Asshur.
| «اما پس از آن خداوند، تو و قومت و خاندانت را به آنچنان بلایی دچار خواهد ساخت که از زمانی که پادشاهی سلیمان به دو مملکت اسرائیل و یهودا تقسیم شد، تاکنون نظیرش دیده نشده است. بله، او پادشاه آشور را به سرزمینت خواهد فرستاد.» |
18 And it hath come to pass, in that day, Jehovah doth hiss for a fly that [is] in the extremity of the brooks of Egypt, And for a bee that [is] in the land of Asshur.
| خداوند سپاهیان مصر را فرا خواهد خواند و آنها مانند مگس بر شما هجوم خواهند آورد و سربازان آشور را احضار خواهد کرد و ایشان مثل زنبور بر سر شما خواهند ریخت. |
19 And they have come, and rested all of them in the desolate valleys, And in holes of the rocks, and on all the thorns, And on all the commendable things.
| آنها در دسته‌های بزرگ آمده، در سراسر مملکتتان پخش خواهند شد. آنها نه فقط در زمینهای حاصلخیزتان ساکن خواهند گردید، بلکه حتی دره‌های بایر، غارها و زمینهای پر از خار را نیز اشغال خواهند کرد. |
20 In that day doth the Lord shave, By a razor that is hired beyond the river, By the king of Asshur, The head, and the hair of the feet, Yea, also the beard it consumeth.
| در آن روز، خداوند تیغی از ماورای رود فرات اجیر خواهد کرد، یعنی پادشاه آشور را، تا به‌وسیلۀ او هر چه را که دارید بتراشد: سرزمینتان، محصولاتتان و مردمانتان. |
21 And it hath come to pass, in that day, A man keepeth alive a heifer of the herd, And two of the flock,
| «پس از این غارت و کشتار، تمام سرزمینتان به چراگاه تبدیل خواهد شد. همهٔ گله‌ها و رمه‌ها از بین خواهند رفت. کسی بیش از یک گاو و دو گوسفند نخواهد داشت. ولی فراوانی چراگاه باعث خواهد شد که شیر زیاد شود. کسانی که در این سرزمین باقی مانده باشند خوراکشان کره و عسل صحرائی خواهد بود. |
22 And it hath come to pass, From the abundance of the yielding of milk he eateth butter, For butter and honey doth every one eat Who is left in the heart of the land.
23 And it hath come to pass, in that day, Every place where there are a thousand vines, At a thousand silverlings, Is for briers and for thorns.
| در آن زمان تاکستانهای آباد و پرثمر به زمینهای بایر و پر از خار تبدیل خواهند شد. |
24 With arrows and with bow he cometh thither, Because all the land is brier and thorn.
| مردم با تیر و کمان از آنجا عبور خواهند کرد، زیرا تمام زمین به صحرای حیوانات وحشی تبدیل خواهد شد. |
25 And all the hills that with a mattock are kept in order, Thither cometh not the fear of brier and thorn, And it hath been for the sending forth of ox, And for the treading of sheep!'
| دیگر کسی به دامنهٔ تپه‌ها که زمانی آباد بودند نخواهد رفت، چون این تپه‌ها را خار و خس خواهد پوشاند و فقط گاوان و گوسفندان در آنجا خواهند چرید.» |
