Joshua 24
1 And Josue gaderide alle the lynagis of Israel in to Sechem; and he clepide the grettere men in birthe, and the princes, and iugis, and maistris; and thei stoden in the siyt of the Lord.
१फिर यहोशू ने इस्राएल के सब गोत्रों को शेकेम में इकट्ठा किया, और इस्राएल के वृद्ध लोगों, और मुख्य पुरुषों, और न्यायियों, और सरदारों को बुलवाया; और वे परमेश्वर के सामने उपस्थित हुए।
2 And he spak thus to the puple, The Lord God of Israel seith these thingis, Youre fadris dwelliden at the bigynnyng biyende the flood Eufrates, Thare, the fadir of Abraham, and Nachor, and thei serueden alien goddis.
२तब यहोशू ने उन सब लोगों से कहा, “इस्राएल का परमेश्वर यहोवा इस प्रकार कहता है, कि ‘प्राचीनकाल में अब्राहम और नाहोर का पिता तेरह आदि, तुम्हारे पुरखा फरात महानद के उस पार रहते हुए दूसरे देवताओं की उपासना करते थे।
3 Therfor Y took youre fadir Abraham fro the coostis of Mesopotanye, and Y brouyte hym in to the lond of Canaan; and Y multipliede `the seed of hym,
३और मैंने तुम्हारे मूलपुरुष अब्राहम को फरात के उस पार से ले आकर कनान देश के सब स्थानों में फिराया, और उसका वंश बढ़ाया। और उसे इसहाक को दिया;
4 and Y yaf Isaac to hym; and eft Y yaf to Isaac, Jacob, and Esau, of whiche Y yaf to Esau the hil of Seir, to `haue in possessioun; forsothe Jacob and hise sones yeden doun in to Egipt.
४फिर मैंने इसहाक को याकूब और एसाव दिया। और एसाव को मैंने सेईर नामक पहाड़ी देश दिया कि वह उसका अधिकारी हो, परन्तु याकूब बेटों-पोतों समेत मिस्र को गया।
5 And Y sente Moises and Aaron, and Y smoot Egipt with many signes and wondris,
५फिर मैंने मूसा और हारून को भेजकर उन सब कामों के द्वारा जो मैंने मिस्र में किए उस देश को मारा; और उसके बाद तुम को निकाल लाया।
6 and Y ledde you and youre fadris out of Egipt. And ye camen to the see, and Egipcians pursueden youre fadris with charis, and multitude of knyytis, `til to the Reed See.
६और मैं तुम्हारे पुरखाओं को मिस्र में से निकाल लाया, और तुम समुद्र के पास पहुँचे; और मिस्रियों ने रथ और सवारों को संग लेकर लाल समुद्र तक तुम्हारा पीछा किया।
7 Forsothe the sones of Israel crieden to the Lord, and he settide derknessis bitwixe you and Egipcians; and he brouyte the see on hem, and hilide hem. Youre iyen sien alle thingis, whiche Y dide in Egipt. And ye dwelliden in wildirnesse in myche tyme.
७और जब तुम ने यहोवा की दुहाई दी तब उसने तुम्हारे और मिस्रियों के बीच में अंधियारा कर दिया, और उन पर समुद्र को बहाकर उनको डुबा दिया; और जो कुछ मैंने मिस्र में किया उसे तुम लोगों ने अपनी आँखों से देखा; फिर तुम बहुत दिन तक जंगल में रहे।
8 And Y brouyte you in to the lond of Ammorrei, that dwellide biyende Jordan; and whanne thei fouyten ayens you, Y bitook hem in to youre hondis, and ye hadden in possessioun `the lond of hem, and ye killiden hem.
८तब मैं तुम को उन एमोरियों के देश में ले आया, जो यरदन के उस पार बसे थे; और वे तुम से लड़े और मैंने उन्हें तुम्हारे वश में कर दिया, और तुम उनके देश के अधिकारी हो गए, और मैंने उनका तुम्हारे सामने से सत्यानाश कर डाला।
9 Sotheli Balach, the sone of Sephor, the king of Moab, roos, and fauyt ayens Israel; and he sente, and clepide Balaam, the sone of Beor, that he schulde curse you.
९फिर मोआब के राजा सिप्पोर का पुत्र बालाक उठकर इस्राएल से लड़ा; और तुम्हें श्राप देने के लिये बोर के पुत्र बिलाम को बुलवा भेजा,
10 And Y nolde here hym, but ayenward bi hym Y blesside you, and delyuerede you fro hise hondis.
१०परन्तु मैंने बिलाम की नहीं सुनी; वह तुम को आशीष ही आशीष देता गया; इस प्रकार मैंने तुम को उसके हाथ से बचाया।
11 And ye passiden Jordan, and camen to Jerico; and men of that citee fouyten ayens you, Ammorrei, and Feresei, and Cananei, Ethei, and Gergesei, and Euei, and Jebusei; and Y bitook hem in to youre hondis.
११तब तुम यरदन पार होकर यरीहो के पास आए, और जब यरीहो के लोग, और एमोरी, परिज्जी, कनानी, हित्ती, गिर्गाशी, हिब्बी, और यबूसी तुम से लड़े, तब मैंने उन्हें तुम्हारे वश में कर दिया।
12 And Y sente flies with venemouse tongis bifor you, and Y castide hem out of her places; Y kyllide twei kyngis of Ammorreis, not in thi swerd and bowe.
१२और मैंने तुम्हारे आगे बर्रों को भेजा, और उन्होंने एमोरियों के दोनों राजाओं को तुम्हारे सामने से भगा दिया; देखो, यह तुम्हारी तलवार या धनुष का काम नहीं हुआ।
13 And Y yaf to you the lond in which ye traueiliden not, and citees whiche ye bildiden not, that ye schulden dwelle in tho, and vyneris, and places of olyue trees, whiche ye plauntiden not.
१३फिर मैंने तुम्हें ऐसा देश दिया जिसमें तुम ने परिश्रम न किया था, और ऐसे नगर भी दिए हैं जिन्हें तुम ने न बसाया था, और तुम उनमें बसे हो; और जिन दाख और जैतून के बगीचों के फल तुम खाते हो उन्हें तुम ने नहीं लगाया था।’
14 Now therfor drede ye the Lord, and serue ye hym with perfite herte and moost trewe; and do ye awei the goddis, to whiche youre fadris seruyden in Mesopotanye, and in Egipt; and serue ye the Lord.
१४“इसलिए अब यहोवा का भय मानकर उसकी सेवा खराई और सच्चाई से करो; और जिन देवताओं की सेवा तुम्हारे पुरखा फरात के उस पार और मिस्र में करते थे, उन्हें दूर करके यहोवा की सेवा करो।
15 But if it semeth yuel to you, `that ye serue the Lord, chesyng is youun to you; chese ye to you to dai that, that plesith, whom ye owen most to serue; whether to goddis, whiche youre fadris serueden in Mesopotanye, whether to the goddis of Ammorreis, in whose lond ye dwellen; forsothe Y, and myn hows schulen serue the Lord.
१५और यदि यहोवा की सेवा करनी तुम्हें बुरी लगे, तो आज चुन लो कि तुम किसकी सेवा करोगे, चाहे उन देवताओं की जिनकी सेवा तुम्हारे पुरखा महानद के उस पार करते थे, और चाहे एमोरियों के देवताओं की सेवा करो जिनके देश में तुम रहते हो; परन्तु मैं तो अपने घराने समेत यहोवा ही की सेवा नित करूँगा।”
16 And al the puple answeride and seide, Fer be it fro vs that we forsake the Lord, and serue alien goddis.
१६तब लोगों ने उत्तर दिया, “यहोवा को त्याग कर दूसरे देवताओं की सेवा करनी हम से दूर रहे;
17 `Oure Lord God hym silf ledde vs and oure fadris out of the lond of Egipt, fro the hows of seruage, and dide grete signes in oure siyt; and he kepte vs in al the weie, bi which we yeden, and in alle puplis, bi whiche we passiden; and he castide out alle folkis,
१७क्योंकि हमारा परमेश्वर यहोवा वही है जो हमको और हमारे पुरखाओं को दासत्व के घर, अर्थात् मिस्र देश से निकाल ले आया, और हमारे देखते बड़े-बड़े आश्चर्यकर्म किए, और जिस मार्ग पर और जितनी जातियों के मध्य में से हम चले आते थे उनमें हमारी रक्षा की;
18 Ammorrei, the dwellere of the lond, in to which we entriden. Therfor we schulen serue the Lord, for he is `oure Lord God.
१८और हमारे सामने से इस देश में रहनेवाली एमोरी आदि सब जातियों को निकाल दिया है; इसलिए हम भी यहोवा की सेवा करेंगे, क्योंकि हमारा परमेश्वर वही है।”
19 And Josue seide to the puple, Ye moun not serue the Lord; for God is hooli, and a strong feruent louyere, and he foryyueth not youre trespassis and synnes.
१९यहोशू ने लोगों से कहा, “तुम से यहोवा की सेवा नहीं हो सकती; क्योंकि वह पवित्र परमेश्वर है; वह जलन रखनेवाला परमेश्वर है; वह तुम्हारे अपराध और पाप क्षमा न करेगा।
20 If ye forsaken the Lord, and seruen alien goddis, the Lord schal turne `hym silf, and schal turment you, and schal distrie, after that he hath youe goodis to you.
२०यदि तुम यहोवा को त्याग कर पराए देवताओं की सेवा करने लगोगे, तो यद्यपि वह तुम्हारा भला करता आया है तो भी वह फिरकर तुम्हारी हानि करेगा और तुम्हारा अन्त भी कर डालेगा।”
21 And the puple seide to Josue, It schal not be so, as thou spekist, but we schulen serue the Lord.
२१लोगों ने यहोशू से कहा, “नहीं; हम यहोवा ही की सेवा करेंगे।”
22 And Josue seide to the puple, Ye ben witnessis, that ye han chose the Lord to you, that ye serue him. And thei answeriden, We ben witnessis.
२२यहोशू ने लोगों से कहा, “तुम आप ही अपने साक्षी हो कि तुम ने यहोवा की सेवा करनी चुन ली है।” उन्होंने कहा, “हाँ, हम साक्षी हैं।”
23 Therfor, he seide, Now do ye awei alien goddis fro the myddis of you, and bowe ye youre hertis to the Lord God of Israel.
२३यहोशू ने कहा, “अपने बीच में से पराए देवताओं को दूर करके अपना-अपना मन इस्राएल के परमेश्वर यहोवा की ओर लगाओ।”
24 And the puple seide to Josue, We schulen serue `oure Lord God, and we schulen be obedient to hise heestis.
२४लोगों ने यहोशू से कहा, “हम तो अपने परमेश्वर यहोवा ही की सेवा करेंगे, और उसी की बात मानेंगे।”
25 Therfor Josue smoot a boond of pees in that dai, and settide forth to the puple comaundementis and domes in Sichen.
२५तब यहोशू ने उसी दिन उन लोगों से वाचा बँधाई, और शेकेम में उनके लिये विधि और नियम ठहराया।
26 And he wroot alle these wordis in the book of Goddis lawe. And he took a greet stoon, and puttide it vndur an ook, that was in the seyntuarie of the Lord.
२६यह सारा वृत्तान्त यहोशू ने परमेश्वर की व्यवस्था की पुस्तक में लिख दिया; और एक बड़ा पत्थर चुनकर वहाँ उस बांज वृक्ष के तले खड़ा किया, जो यहोवा के पवित्रस्थान में था।
27 And he seide to al the puple, Lo! this stoon schal be to you in to witnessing, that ye herden alle the wordis of the Lord, whiche he spak to you, lest perauenture ye wolden denye aftirward, and lye to youre Lord God.
२७तब यहोशू ने सब लोगों से कहा, “सुनो, यह पत्थर हम लोगों का साक्षी रहेगा, क्योंकि जितने वचन यहोवा ने हम से कहे हैं उन्हें इसने सुना है; इसलिए यह तुम्हारा साक्षी रहेगा, ऐसा न हो कि तुम अपने परमेश्वर से मुकर जाओ।”
28 And he lefte the puple, ech man in to his possessioun.
२८तब यहोशू ने लोगों को अपने-अपने निज भाग पर जाने के लिये विदा किया।
29 And after these thingis Josue, the sone of Nun, the `seruaunt of the Lord, diede, an hundride yeer eld and ten.
२९इन बातों के बाद यहोवा का दास, नून का पुत्र यहोशू, एक सौ दस वर्ष का होकर मर गया।
30 And thei birieden hym in the costis of his possessioun, in Thannath of Sare, which is set in the hil of Effraym, fro the north part of the hil Gaas.
३०और उसको तिम्नत्सेरह में, जो एप्रैम के पहाड़ी देश में गाश नामक पहाड़ के उत्तर में है, उसी के भाग में मिट्टी दी गई।
31 And Israel seruede the Lord in alle the daies of Josue, and of the eldre men, that lyueden in long tyme aftir Josue, and whiche eldre men knewen alle the werkis of the Lord, whiche he hadde do in Israel.
३१और यहोशू के जीवन भर, और जो वृद्ध लोग यहोशू के मरने के बाद जीवित रहे और जानते थे कि यहोवा ने इस्राएल के लिये कैसे-कैसे काम किए थे, उनके भी जीवन भर इस्राएली यहोवा ही की सेवा करते रहे।
32 Also `the sones of Israel birieden the boonys of Joseph, whiche thei baren fro Egipt in Sichen, in the part of the feeld, which feeld Jacob bouyte of the sones of Emor, fadir of Sichen, for an hundrid yonge scheep; and it was in to possessioun of the sones of Joseph.
३२फिर यूसुफ की हड्डियाँ जिन्हें इस्राएली मिस्र से ले आए थे वे शेकेम की भूमि के उस भाग में गाड़ी गईं, जिसे याकूब ने शेकेम के पिता हमोर के पुत्रों से एक सौ चाँदी के सिक्कों में मोल लिया था; इसलिए वह यूसुफ की सन्तान का निज भाग हो गया।
33 Also Eliazar, sone of Aaron, preest, diede; and Fynees and hise sones biryden hym in Gabaa, which was youun to hym in the hil of Efraym.
३३और हारून का पुत्र एलीआजर भी मर गया; और उसको एप्रैम के पहाड़ी देश में उस पहाड़ी पर मिट्टी दी गई, जो उसके पुत्र पीनहास के नाम पर गिबत्पीनहास कहलाती है और उसको दे दी गई थी।
