Isaiah 45
1 The Lord seith these thingis to my crist, Cirus, whos riythond Y took, that Y make suget folkis bifor his face, and turne the backis of kyngis; and Y schal opene yatis bifore hym, and yatis schulen not be closid.
Voici ce que dit le Seigneur Dieu: J'ai dit à mon christ Cyrus que j'ai pris par la main, avant que les nations lui obéissent: Je briserai la force des rois; j'ouvrirai devant toi les portes, et les villes ne te seront pas fermées.
2 Y schal go bifore thee, and Y schal make lowe the gloriouse men of erthe; Y schal al to-breke brasun yatis, and Y schal breke togidere irun barris.
Je marcherai devant toi; j'aplanirai les montagnes; je briserai les portes d'airain; je broierai les verrous de fer.
3 And Y schal yyue hid tresours to thee, and the priuy thingis of priuytees, that thou wite, that Y am the Lord, that clepe thi name, God of Israel,
Je te donnerai des trésors enfouis dans les ténèbres; j'ouvrirai pour toi les retraites cachées, invisibles; afin que tu saches que je suis le Seigneur ton Dieu, qui t'appelle par ton nom, le Dieu d'Israël.
4 for my seruaunt Jacob, and Israel my chosun, and Y clepide thee bi thi name; Y licnyde thee, and thou knewist not me.
A cause de mon serviteur Jacob, à cause de mon élu Israël, je t'appellerai par ton nom, et je t'agréerai, toi qui cependant ne m'as pas connu.
5 Y am the Lord, and ther is no more; with out me is no God. Y haue gird thee, and thou knewist not me.
Je suis le Seigneur Dieu; et, hormis moi, il n'y a point de Dieu; je t'ai fortifié, et tu ne me connaissais pas.
6 That thei that ben at the risyng of the sunne, and thei that ben at the west, know, that with out me is no God.
Je t'ai fortifié pour que du lever au coucher du soleil on sache qu'il n'y a point de Dieu, hormis moi. Je suis le Seigneur Dieu, et il n'en n'est point d'autre.
7 Y am the Lord, and noon other God is; fourmynge liyt, and makynge derknessis, makynge pees, and fourmynge yuel; Y am the Lord, doynge alle these thingis.
C'est moi qui ai préparé la lumière, qui ai formé les ténèbres, qui fais la paix, qui crée les maux; je suis le Seigneur Dieu, qui fais toutes ces choses.
8 Heuenes, sende ye out deew fro aboue, and cloudis, reyne a iust man; the erthe be openyde, and brynge forth the sauyour, and riytfulnesse be borun togidere; Y the Lord haue maad hym of nouyt.
Que du plus haut le ciel se réjouisse; que les nuées répandent la justice comme une rosée. Que la terre produise, qu'elle fasse naître la miséricorde et qu'elle produise en même temps la justice. Moi je suis le Seigneur qui t'ai créé.
9 Wo to hym that ayen seith his maker, a tiel stoon of erthe of Sannys. Whether clei seith to his pottere, What makist thou, and thi werk is withouten hondis?
Ai-je fait l'argile supérieure au potier? Le laboureur laboure-t-il tout un jour? L'argile dit-elle au potier: Que fais-tu? tu ne travailles pas; n'as-tu pas des mains? Est-ce que l'œuvre parle à l'ouvrier?
10 Wo to hym that seith to the fadir, What gendrist thou? and to a womman, What childist thou?
C'est comme si on disait à son père: Pourquoi engendrez-vous? et à sa mère: Pourquoi enfantez-vous?
11 The Lord, the hooli of Israel, the fourmere therof, seith these thingis, Axe ye me thingis to comynge on my sones, and sende ye to me on the werkis of myn hondis.
Voici ce que dit le Seigneur, le Saint d'Israël, le créateur des choses futures: Questionnez-moi sur mes fils; demandez-moi compte des œuvres de mes mains.
12 Y made erthe, and Y made a man on it; myn hondis helden abrood heuenes, and Y comaundide to al the knyythod of tho.
C'est moi qui ai créé la terre, et l'homme sur elle; moi qui de ma main ai affermi le ciel; moi qui ai donné des lois à tous les astres.
13 Y reiside hym to riytfulnesse, and Y schal dresse alle hise weies; he schal bilde my citee, and he schal delyuere my prisoneris, not in prijs, nether in yiftis, seith the Lord of oostis.
C'est moi qui l'ai suscité; il sera roi selon la justice; toutes ses voies seront droites; il rebâtira ma ville; il fera revenir mon peuple de la captivité, sans rançons, sans présents, dit le Seigneur des armées.
14 The Lord God seith these thingis, The trauel of Egipt, and the marchaundie of Ethiopie, and of Sabaym; hiy men schulen go to thee, and schulen be thine; thei schulen go aftir thee, thei schulen go boundun in manyclis, and schulen worschipe thee, and schulen biseche thee. God is oneli in thee, and with out thee is no God.
Voici ce que dit le Seigneur des armées: l'Égypte a travaillé pour toi; les marchandises des Éthiopiens et des hommes superbes de Saba traverseront la mer pour venir te trouver; ils te seront asservis; ils te suivront les fers aux mains, ils t'aborderont, ils se prosterneront devant toi, et t'adresseront leurs prières, parce que Dieu est avec toi. Et, hormis vous, Seigneur, il n'est point de Dieu.
15 Verili thou art God hid, God, the sauyour of Israel.
Car vous êtes Dieu, et nous ne le savions pas, Dieu d'Israël, Dieu Sauveur!
16 Alle makeris of errours ben schent, and weren aschamed; thei yeden togidere in to confusioun.
Que tous tes adversaires soient humiliés, qu'ils rougissent, qu'ils marchent pleins de honte. Et vous, célébrez des solennités en mon honneur.
17 Israel is sauyde in the Lord, bi euerlastynge helthe; ye schulen not be schent, and ye schulen not be aschamed, til in to the world of world.
Israël est sauvé par le Seigneur, sauvé pour tous les siècles; ses enfants ne seront plus humiliés ni confondus à jamais.
18 For whi the Lord makynge heuenes of nouyt, seith these thingis; he is God fourmynge erthe, and makinge it, he is the makere therof; he made it of noyt, not in veyn, but he formyde it, that it be enhabitid; Y am the Lord, and noon other is.
Ainsi dit le Seigneur qui a créé le ciel, le Dieu qui a fait paraître la terre, qui l'a créée, qui lui a donné ses limites; et il ne l'a point formée en vain, mais pour qu'elle fût habitée. Je suis le Seigneur, et il n'en est point d'autre.
19 Y spak not in hid place, not in a derk place of erthe; I seide not to the seed of Jacob, Seke ye me in veyn. Y am the Lord spekynge riytfulnesse, tellynge riytful thingis.
Je n'ai point parlé en secret, ni dans quelque lieu obscur de la terre; je n'ai point dit à la race de Jacob: En vain cherchez-vous; c'est moi, c'est moi le Seigneur qui parle selon la justice, qui annonce la vérité.
20 Be ye gaderid, and come ye, and neiye ye togidere, that ben sauyd of hethene men; thei that reisen a signe of her grauyng, knewen not, and thei preien a god that saueth not.
Rassemblez-vous, venez, prenez conseil ensemble, vous qui avez été sauvés des nations qui élevaient des sculptures et des statues de bois, qui vivaient dans l'ignorance et priaient des dieux incapables de sauver.
21 Telle ye, and come ye, and take ye councel togidere. Who made this herd fro the bigynnyng? fro that tyme Y bifor seide it. Whether Y am not the Lord, and no God is ferthere with out me? God riytful and sauynge is noon, outakun me.
Si elles ont quelque chose à dire, qu'elles approchent, afin d'apprendre toutes à la fois qui a fait connaître ces choses; vous les avez sues dès lors, vous avez su que je suis Dieu; il n'en est point d'autre que moi; je suis le Dieu juste et sauveur; il n'en est point, hormis moi.
22 Alle the coostis of erthe, be ye conuertid to me, and ye schulen be saaf; for Y am the Lord, and noon other is.
Convertissez-vous à moi, et vous serez sauvés, ô vous qui venez des extrémités de la terre. C'est moi qui suis Dieu, et il n'en est point d'autre.
23 Y swoor in my silf, a word of riytfulnesse schal go out of my mouth, and it schal not turne ayen; for ech kne schal be bowid to me, and ech tunge schal swere.
Je le jure par moi-même, la justice seule va sortir de ma bouche, et ma parole ne sera pas vaine. Tout genou fléchira devant moi; toute langue confessera Dieu,
24 Therfor thei schulen sei in the Lord, Riytfulnessis and empire ben myne; alle that fiyten ayens hym schulen come to hym, and schulen be aschamed.
Disant: La justice et la gloire viendront à lui, et tous ceux qui se séparent du Seigneur seront confondus.
25 Al the seed of Israel schal be iustified and preysid in the Lord.
Et les autres seront justifiés, et toute la postérité des fils d'Israël mettra sa gloire en Dieu.
