Genesis 28
1 And so Isaac clepide Jacob, and blesside hym, and comaundide to hym, and seide, Nyle thou take a wijf of the kyn of Canaan; but go thou,
Isaac llamó a Jacob y lo bendijo. “No te cases con una mujer cananea”, le ordenó.
2 and walke forth in to Mesopotanye of Sirie, to the hows of Batuel, fadir of thi modir, and take to thee of thennus a wijf of the douytris of Laban, thin vncle.
“Vete ahora mismo a Padán Harán, a la casa de Betuel, el padre de tu madre. Busca allí una esposa, una hija de Labán, el hermano de tu madre.
3 Sotheli Almyyti God blesse thee, and make thee to encreesse, and multiplie thee, that thou be in to cumpanyes of puplis;
El Dios Altísimo te bendiga y que tus descendientes sean tan numerosos que llegues a ser el ancestro de muchas naciones.
4 and God yyue to thee the blessyngis of Abraham, and to thi seed aftir thee, that thou welde the lond of thi pilgrymage, which he bihiyte to thi grauntsir.
Que Dios te concede a ti y a tus descendientes la misma bendición que le dio a Abraham, para que poseas la tierra en la que eres extranjero, la tierra que Dios le dio a Abraham”.
5 And whanne Ysaac hadde left hym, he yede forth, and cam in to Mesopotanye of Sirie, to Laban, the sone of Batuel of Sirie, the brother of Rebecca, his modir.
Así que Isaac envió a Jacob, y Jacob se fue de viaje a Paddan-aram, a la casa de Labán, hijo de Betuel, el arameo. Labán era el hermano de Rebeca, la madre de Jacob y Esaú.
6 Forsothe Esau seiy that his fadir hadde blessid Jacob, and hadde sent him in to Mesopotanye of Sirie, that he schulde wedde a wijf of thennus, and that aftir the blessyng he comaundide to Jacob, and seide, Thou schalt not take a wijf of the douytris of Canaan;
Esaú descubrió que Isaac había bendecido a Jacob y que lo había enviado a Paddan-aram para encontrar allí una esposa, y que cuando lo bendijo, le dijo: “No te cases con una mujer cananea”.
7 and that Jacob obeiede to his fadir `and modir, and yede in to Sirie;
También se enteró de que Jacob había obedecido a su padre y ahora se dirigía hacia Paddan-aram.
8 also Esau preuyde that his fadir bihelde not gladli the douytris of Canaan.
Esto hizo que Esaú descubriera cuánto su padre aborrecía a las mujeres cananeas.
9 And he yede to Ismael, and weddide a wijf, with out these whiche he hadde bifore, Melech, the douyter of Ismael, sone of Abraham, the sistir of Nabaioth.
Así que Esaú fue a donde la familia de Ismael, y se casó con otra mujer llamada Majalat, la hija de Ismael, hijo de Abraham, y hermana de Nebaiot.
10 Therfor Jacob yede out of Bersabee, and yede to Aran.
Mientras tanto, Jacob había salido de Beerseba e iba de camino hacia Arán.
11 And whanne he hadde come to sum place, and wolde reste ther inne aftir the goynge doun of the sunne, he took of the stoonus that laien ther, and he puttide vndur his heed, and slepte in the same place.
Llegó allí después de la puesta de sol, y se quedó esa noche en un lugar. Tomó una piedra, la puso bajo su cabeza, y se acostó a dormir.
12 And he seiye in sleep a laddir stondynge on the erthe, and the cop ther of touchinge heuene; and he seiy Goddis aungels stiynge vp and goynge doun ther bi,
Y Jacob tuvo un sueño en el que veía una escalera que comenzaba en la tierra, y llegaba hasta el cielo. Vio a los ángeles de Dios que subían y bajaban en ella.
13 and the Lord fastned to the laddir, seiynge to hym, Y am the Lord God of Abraham, thi fadir, and God of Isaac; Y schal yyue to thee and to thi seed the lond in which thou slepist.
Entonces vio al Señor que estaba en pie sobre él, y que dijo: “Yo soy el Señor, el Dios de tu padre Abraham, y el Dios de Isaac. Yo te doy a ti y a tus descendientes la tierra en la que estás acostado ahora.
14 And thi seed schal be as the dust of erthe, thou schalt be alargid to the eest, and west, and north, and south; and alle lynagis of erthe schulen be blessid in thee and in thi seed.
Tus descendientes serán tantos como el polvo de la tierra, y se esparcirán de oriente a occidente, y de norte a sur. Todos sobre la tierra serán benditos por tus descendientes.
15 And Y schal be thi kepere, whidur euer thou schalt go; and Y schal lede thee ayen in to this lond, and Y schal not leeue no but Y schal fil alle thingis whiche Y seide.
¡Escucha! Yo estoy contigo y te cuidaré dondequiera que vayas. Yo te traeré de regreso a esta tierra. No te abandonaré, porque voy a hacer lo que te prometí”.
16 And whanne Jacob hadde wakyd of sleep, he seide, Verili the Lord is in this place, and Y wiste not.
Cuando Jacob se despertó, se dijo a sí mismo: “¡El Señor está aquí, en este lugar, y no me había dado cuenta!”
17 And he seide dredynge, Hou worschipful is this place! Here is noon other thing no but the hows of God, and the yate of heuene.
Entonces se asustó y dijo: “¡Este es un lugar terrible! Debe ser la casa de Dios y la entrada al cielo”.
18 Therfor Jacob roos eerli, and took the stoon which he hadde put vndur his heed, and reiside in to a title, and helde oile aboue.
Cuando Jacob se levantó en la mañana, tomó la Piedra que había puesto bajo su cabeza, y la colocó en forma vertical, como un pilar de piedra, y roció aceite de oliva sobre ella.
19 And he clepide the name of that citee Bethel, which was clepid Lusa bifore.
Y le puso por nombre a ese lugar “Betel”, (anteriormente su nombre era Luz).
20 Also he auowide a vow, and seide, If God is with me, and kepith me in the weie in which Y go, and yyueth to me looues to ete, and clothis to be clothid,
Jacob también hizo una promesa solemne, diciendo: “Dios, si vas conmigo y me cuidas durante mi viaje, y me das alimento y bebida, así como ropa para vestir
21 and Y turne ayen in prosperite to the hows of my fadir, the Lord schal be in to God to me.
para que pueda regresar a salvo a la casa de mi padre, entonces tú, Señor, serás mi Dios.
22 And this stoon, which Y reiside in to a title, schal be clepid the hows of God, and Y schal offre tithis to thee of alle thingis whiche thou schalt yyue to me.
Y este pilar que he levantado aquí, será la casa de Dios, y yo te daré la décima parte de lo que me des”.
