Ezra 8
1 Therfor these ben the princes of meynees, and this is the genologie of hem, whiche beynge in the rewme of Artaxerses, kyng, stieden with me fro Babiloyne.
Or ce sont ici les Chefs des pères, avec le dénombrement qui fut fait selon les généalogies, de ceux qui montèrent avec moi de Babylone, pendant le règne du Roi Artaxerxes;
2 Of the sones of Phynees, Gerson; of the sones of Ythamar, Danyel; of the sones of Dauid, Arcus;
Des enfants de Phinées, Guersom; des enfants d'Ithamar, Daniel; des enfants de David, Hattus;
3 of the sones of Sechemye and of the sones of Pharos, Zacarie, and with hym weren noumbrid an hundrid and fifti men;
Des enfants de Sécania, qui était des enfants de Parhos, Zacharie, et avec lui, en faisant le dénombrement par leur généalogie selon les mâles, cent cinquante hommes.
4 of the sones of Phet, Moab, and Elioneay, the sone of Zacharie, and with hym two hundrid men;
Des enfants de Péhath-Moab, Eliehohénaï fils de Zérahia, et avec lui deux cents hommes;
5 of the sones of Sechemye, the sone of Ezechiel, and with hym thre hundrid men;
Des enfants de Sécania, le fils de Jahaziël, et avec lui trois cents hommes;
6 of the sones of Addam, Nabeth, the sone of Jonathan, and with hym fifti men;
Des enfants de Hadin, Hébed fils de Jonathan, et avec lui cinquante hommes;
7 of the sones of Elam, Ysaie, the sone of Italie, and with him seuenti men;
Des enfants de Hélam, Esaïe, fils de Hathalia, et avec lui soixante-dix hommes;
8 of the sones of Saphacie, Zebedie, the sone of Mycael, and with him fourescore men;
Des enfants de Sépharia, Zébadia fils de Micaël, et avec lui quatre-vingts hommes;
9 of the sones of Joab, Obedie, the sone of Jehiel, and with him two hundrid and eiytene men;
Des enfants de Joab, Habadia fils de Jéhiël, et avec lui deux cent dix-huit hommes;
10 of the sones of Salomyth, the sone of Josphie, and with hym an hundrid and sixti men; of the sones of Belbai,
Des enfants de Sélomith, le fils de Josiphia, et avec lui cent soixante hommes;
11 Zacarie, the sone of Belbai, and with hym twenti and eiyte men;
Des enfants de Bébaï, Zacharie fils de Bébaï, et avec lui vingt-huit hommes;
12 of the sones of Ezead, Johannam, the sone of Ezethan, and with hym an hundrid and ten men;
Des enfants de Hazgad, Johanan, fils de Katan, et avec lui cent et dix hommes;
13 of the sones of Adonycam, that weren the laste, and these ben the names of hem, Eliphelech, and Eihel, and Samaie, and with hem weren sexti men;
Des enfants d'Adonicam, les derniers, desquels les noms sont Eliphelet, Jéhiël, et Sémahia, et avec eux soixante hommes.
14 of the sones of Beguy, Vtai, and Zaccur, and with hem weren seuenti men.
Des enfants de Bigvaï, Huthaï, Zabbud, et avec eux soixante-dix hommes.
15 Forsothe Y gaderide hem togidere at the flood, that renneth doun to Hanna; and we dwelliden there thre daies. And `Y souyte in the puple, and in the prestis of the sonus of Leuy, and Y fonde not there.
Et je les assemblai près de la rivière, qui se rend à Ahava, et nous y demeurâmes trois jours. Puis je pris garde au peuple et aux Sacrificateurs, et je n'y trouvai aucun des enfants de Lévi.
16 Therfor Y sente Eliezer, and Ariehel, and Semeam, and Helnathan, and Jaubeth, and an other Helnathan, and Nathan, and Zacharie, and Mesollam, princes; and Joarib, and Elnathan, wise men;
Et ainsi j'envoyai d'entre les principaux Elihéser, Ariel, Sémahia, Elnathan, Jarib, Elnathan, Nathan, Zacharie, et Mésullam, avec Jojarib et Elnathan, docteurs.
17 and Y sente hem to Heldo, which is `the firste in the place of Casphie, and Y puttide in the mouth of hem wordis, whiche thei schulden speke to Heldo, and to hise britheren, Natynneis, in the place of Casphie, for to brynge to vs the mynystris of the hows of oure God.
Et je leur donnai des ordres pour Iddo, principal chef, [qui demeurait] dans le lieu de Casiphia; et je mis en leur bouche les paroles qu'ils devaient dire à Iddo, [et] à son frère, Néthiniens, dans le lieu de Casiphia, afin qu'ils nous fissent venir des ministres pour la maison de notre Dieu.
18 And `thei brouyten to vs, bi the good hoond of oure God on vs, a ful wijs man of the sones of Mooli, the sone of Leuy, sone of Israel; and Sarabie, and his sones twenti, and his britheren eiytene;
Et ils nous amenèrent, selon que la main de notre Dieu était bonne sur nous, un homme intelligent, d'entre les enfants de Mahli, fils de Lévi, fils d'Israël; [savoir] Sérébia, avec ses fils et ses frères, [qui furent] dix-huit hommes.
19 and Azabie, and Isaie, with him of the sones of Merari, thei brouyten his britheren, and his sones, twenti;
Et Hasabia, et avec lui Esaïe, d'entre les enfants de Mérari, ses frères, et leurs enfants, vingt hommes.
20 and of Nathynneis, whiche Dauid and the princis hadden youe to the seruyces of dekenes, thei brouyten two hundrid and twenti Nathynneis; alle these weren clepid bi her names.
Et des Néthiniens, que David et les principaux du peuple avaient assignés pour le service des Lévites, deux cent et vingt Néthiniens, qui furent tous nommés par leurs noms.
21 And `Y prechide there fastyng bisidis the flood of Hanna, that we schulden be turmentid bifor `oure Lord God, and that we schulden axe of him the riytful weie to vs, and to oure sones, and to al oure catel.
Et je publiai là le jeûne auprès de la rivière d'Ahava, afin de nous humilier devant notre Dieu, le priant de nous donner un heureux voyage pour nous, et pour nos familles, et pour tous nos biens.
22 For Y schamede to axe of the kyng help, and horse men, that schulden defende vs fro enemyes in the weie, for we hadden seid to the king, The hond of oure God is on alle men that seken hym in goodnesse; and his lordschip, and his strengthe, and strong veniaunce ben on alle men that forsaken hym.
Car j'eus honte de demander au Roi des forces et des gens de cheval pour nous défendre des ennemis par le chemin; à cause que nous avions dit au Roi en termes exprès: La main de notre Dieu est favorable à tous ceux qui l'invoquent; mais sa force et sa colère est contre ceux qui l'abandonnent.
23 Forsothe we fastiden, and preieden oure God for this thing, and it bifelde to vs `bi prosperite.
Nous jeûnâmes donc, et nous implorâmes [le secours] de notre Dieu à cause de cela; et il fut fléchi par nos prières.
24 And `Y departide twelue of the princes of prestis, Sarabie, and Asabie, and ten of her britheren with hem;
Alors je séparai douze des principaux des Sacrificateurs; avec Sérébia, Hasabia, et avec eux dix de leurs frères.
25 and Y bitook vndur certeyn weiyte and noumbre to hem the siluer and gold, and the halewid vessels of the hows of oure God, whiche the kyng hadde offrid, and hise counseleris, and hise princes, and `al Israel, of hem that weren foundun.
Et je leur pesai l'argent et l'or et les ustensiles, qui étaient l'offrande que le Roi, ses conseillers, ses gentilshommes, et tous ceux d'Israël qui s'[y] étaient trouvés, avaient faite à la maison de notre Dieu.
26 And Y bitook vndur certeyn weiyte and noumbre in the hondis of hem sixe hundrid and fifti talentis of siluer, and an hundrid siluerne vessels; an hundrid talentis of gold,
Je leur pesai donc, et je leur délivrai six cent cinquante talents d'argent, et des plats d'argent [pesant] cent talents, et cent talents d'or.
27 and twenti goldun cuppis, that hadden a thousynde peesis of gold; and twei faire vessels of best bras, schynynge as gold.
Et vingt plats d'or [montant] à mille drachmes, et deux ustensiles de cuivre resplendissant et fin, aussi précieux que s'ils eussent été d'or.
28 And Y seide to hem, Ye ben the hooli men of the Lord,
Et je leur dis: Vous êtes sanctifiés à l'Eternel; et les ustensiles sont sanctifiés; et cet argent et cet or est une offrande volontaire faite à l'Eternel le Dieu de vos pères.
29 and wake ye, and kepe the hooli vessels, and siluer and gold, which is offrid bi fre wille to the Lord God of oure fadris, til ye yelde vndur certeyn weiyte and noumbre bifor th princes of prestis, and of dekenes, and bifor the duykis of meynees of Israel in Jerusalem, in to the tresour of Goddis hows.
Ayez-y l'œil et gardez-les, jusqu'à ce que vous les pesiez en la présence des principaux des Sacrificateurs et des Lévites, et devant les principaux des pères d'Israël à Jérusalem, dans les chambres de la maison de l'Eternel.
30 Sotheli the preestis and dekenes token the weiyte of siluer, and of gold, and of vessels, for to bere in to Jerusalem, in to the hows of oure God.
Les Sacrificateurs donc et les Lévites reçurent le poids de l'argent, et de l'or, et des ustensiles, pour les apporter à Jérusalem, dans la maison de notre Dieu.
31 Therfor we mouyden forth fro the flood of Hanna, in the tweluethe dai of the firste monethe, for to go in to Jerusalem; and the hond of oure God was on vs, and delyuerde vs fro the hond of enemye and of aspiere in the weie.
Et nous partîmes de la rivière d'Ahava le douzième jour du premier mois, pour aller à Jérusalem; et la main de notre Dieu fut sur nous; et il nous délivra de la main des ennemis, et de [leurs] embûches sur le chemin.
32 And we camen to Jerusalem, and we dwelliden there thre daies.
Puis nous arrivâmes à Jérusalem, et nous étant reposés trois jours,
33 Forsothe in the fourthe dai the siluer was yoldun vndur certeyn weiyte and noumbre, and the gold, and the vessels, `in the hows of oure God, by the noumbre and weiyte of alle thingis, bi the hond of Remmoth, `sone of Vrie, preest; and with him was Eleazar, the sone of Phynees, and with him weren Jozaded, the sone of Josue, and Noadaie, the sone of Bennoy, dekenes;
Au quatrième jour nous pesâmes l'argent et l'or, et les ustensiles dans la maison de notre Dieu, et nous les délivrâmes à Mérémoth, fils d'Urija Sacrificateur, avec lequel [était] Eléazar fils de Phinées; et avec eux Jozabad fils de Jésuah, et Nohadia, fils de Binuï, Lévites.
34 and al the weiyte was discriued in that tyme.
Selon le nombre et le poids de toutes ces choses, et tout le poids en fut mis alors par écrit.
35 But also the sones of transmygracioun, that camen fro caitifte, offriden brent sacrifices to the Lord God of Israel, `twelue calues for al the puple of Israel, nynti and sixe rammes, seuene and seuenti lambren, twelue buckis of geet for synne; alle thingis in to brent sacrifice to the Lord.
Et ceux qui avaient été transportés, [et] qui étaient retournés de la captivité, offrirent pour tout Israël, en holocauste au Dieu d'Israël, douze veaux, quatre-vingt-seize béliers, soixante-dix-sept agneaux, [et] douze boucs pour le péché; le tout en holocauste à l'Eternel.
36 Forsothe thei yauen the comaundementis of the kyng to the princes, that weren of the siyt of the king, and to the duykis biyende the flood; and thei reisiden the puple, and the hows of God.
Et ils remirent les ordonnances du Roi entre les mains des Satrapes du Roi et des Gouverneurs qui étaient au deçà du fleuve, lesquels favorisèrent le peuple, et la maison de Dieu.
