< Matthew 27 >
1 And as soon as it was morning all the chief priests and elders of the people took counsel against Jesus, how to get Him executed:
Esi ŋu ke la, nunɔlagãwo kple Yudatɔwo ƒe dumegã bubuwo kpe ta be yewoade ŋugble le ale si woawɔ able Romatɔwo ƒe dziɖuɖua nu ne woatso kufia na Yesu la ŋuti.
2 so they bound Him and led Him away, and delivered Him to Pontius Pilate the Roman governor.
Emegbe la, wode gae, eye wokplɔe yi na Pilato, Romatɔwo ƒe mɔmefia.
3 Then Judas, who had betrayed Him, when he saw that He was condemned, being struck with remorse, brought back the thirty pieces of silver to the chief priests and the elders,
Le ɣeyiɣi sia me la, Yuda, ame si de Yesu asi la, kpɔ be wotso kufia nɛ. Eƒe susu trɔ, eye wòvee vevie be wòwɔ esia, eya ta egbugbɔ ga si wòxɔ le nunɔlagãwo kple Yudatɔwo ƒe dumegãwo si la yi na wo.
4 saying, I have sinned, for I have betrayed innocent blood: but they said, What is that to us? see thou to that.
Egblɔ na wo be, “Mewɔ nu vɔ̃, elabena mede ame maɖifɔ asi.” Ke woɖo eŋu nɛ be, “Wò nyae nye ema, ɖeke meka mí o.”
5 And he threw down the pieces of silver in the temple, and departed, and went and hanged himself.
Ale Yuda tsɔ ga la ƒu gbe ɖe anyigba le gbedoxɔ la me, eye wòyi ɖade ka ve na eɖokui.
6 But the chief priests took up the pieces of silver, and said, It is not lawful to put them into the treasury of the temple, because it is the price of blood:
Nunɔlagãwo va fɔ ga la le anyigba, eye wogblɔ be, “Míate ŋu atsɔ ga sia ade nudzɔɖaka la me o, elabena etsi tsitre ɖe míaƒe sewo ŋu be, míaxɔ ga si woxe ɖe ame aɖe ƒe ku ta la.”
7 so they consulted together, and bought with them the potter's field for a burying-ground for strangers:
Mlɔeba la, woɖoe be yewoatsɔ ga la aƒle abɔ aɖe si le afi si zemelawo kaa anyi le la, eye yewoatrɔe wòazu ameɖiƒe na amedzro siwo ku le Yerusalem la.
8 and therefore that field is called the field of blood to this day.
Eya ta woyɔa ameɖiƒe sia be, “Ʋubɔ” va se ɖe egbe.
9 Then was fulfilled that which was spoken by the prophet, saying, And they took the thirty pieces of silver, the price of him that was estimated, on whom the children of Israel set the price,
10 and gave them for the potter's field, as the Lord appointed me.

11 And Jesus stood before the governor, and the governor asked Him, saying, Art thou the king of the Jews? And Jesus answered him, It is as thou sayest.
Azɔ la, Yesu tsi tsitre ɖe Pilato, Roma dziɖuɖu la ƒe mɔmefia ƒe ŋkume. Gɔvina la biae be, “Wòe nye Yudatɔwo ƒe fia la?” Yesu ɖo eŋu nɛ be, “Ɛ̃, abe ale si miegblɔe ene.”
12 And when he was accused by the chief priests and elders, He answered nothing.
Nunɔlagãwo kple Yudatɔwo ƒe dumegãwo tsɔ nya geɖewo wɔ nutsotsoe ɖe Yesu ŋuti, gake ezi ɖoɖoe kpoo. Meɖo nya ɖeka pɛ hã ŋu o.
13 Then saith Pilate to Him, Dost thou not hear how many things they witness against thee?
Pilato gabiae be, “Mèle nya gbogbo siwo gblɔm wole ɖe ŋutiwò la sem oa?”
14 but He answered him not one word: so that the governor was much astonished.
Ke Yesu meɖo nya la ŋu nɛ o, eye esia wɔ nuku na Pilato ŋutɔ.
15 Now the governor used at the feast to release a prisoner to the people, whomsoever they desired:
Enye mɔmefia la ƒe ɖoɖo be ne Ŋutitotoŋkekenyui la ɖo edzi ƒe sia ƒe la, yeaɖe asi le Yudatɔ gamenɔla si wodi la ŋuti.
16 and they had then a notorious malefactor named Barabbas.
Le ƒe sia me la, gamenɔla aɖe li. Ame sia nye ame baɖa kple tagbɔsesẽtɔ. Eƒe ŋkɔe nye Yesu Barabas.
17 Therefore when they were gathered together, Pilate said unto them, Whom will ye that I release unto you?
Esi ameha la ɖi anyi ɖe Pilato ƒe xɔxɔnu le ŋdi ma la, ebia wo be, “Ame ka ŋutie maɖe asi le na mi? Barabas loo alo Yesu, miaƒe Kristo la?”
18 Barabbas, or Jesus, who is called Christ? for he knew that out of envy they had delivered Him up.
Elabena Pilato nya nyuie be ale si ame geɖewo dze Yesu yomee la koe biã ŋu na Yudatɔwo ƒe dumegãwo, eya ta wolée ɖo.
19 (And while he was sitting on the tribunal, his wife sent to him, saying, Have nothing to do with that righteous man: for I have suffered much in a dream to day on his account.)
Ke esi wònɔ ʋɔnudrɔ̃zikpui la dzi la, srɔ̃a ɖo gbedeasi sia ɖee be, “Mègaka asi ame dzɔdzɔe ma ŋuti o, elabena etsɔ si va yi ƒe zã la, meku drɔ̃e dziŋɔ aɖe tso eŋuti.”
20 But the chief priests and elders persuaded the common people to ask for Barabbas, and so to destroy Jesus.
Azɔ la, nunɔlagãwo kple Yudatɔwo ƒe dumegãwo ble ameha la nu be woabia be woaɖe asi le Barabas ŋuti na yewo, eye woawu Yesu.
21 And the governor said to them, Which of the two would you have me release to you? and they said, Barabbas.
Eya ta esi mɔmefia la gabia be, “Ame eve siawo dometɔ ka ŋutie maɖe asi le na mi?” La, ameha la do ɣli sesĩe be, “Barabas!”
22 What shall I do then, saith Pilate, with Jesus, who is called Christ? They all cried out, Let Him be crucified.
Pilato bia wo be, “Ekema nu ka mawɔ kple Yesu, miaƒe Kristo la?” Wodo ɣli hoo be, “Klãe ɖe ati ŋuti!”
23 And the governor said, Why, what evil hath He done? but they cried out the more, saying, Let Him be crucified.
Pilato gabia wo be, “Nu vɔ̃ ka wòwɔ?” Ke ameawo gado ɣli sesĩe wu tsã be, “Klãe ɖe ati ŋuti!”
24 Pilate seeing that he prevailed nothing, but that rather a tumult was made, took water and washed his hands before the multitude, saying, I am innocent of the blood of this just man, look ye to it:
Esi Pilato kpɔ be ameawo ɖo kplikpaa, eye hoowɔwɔ gã aɖe le egɔme dzem la, ena woku tsi ɖe gagbɛ me vɛ nɛ, ale wòklɔ asi le ameha la ƒe ŋkume gblɔ be, “Ame nyui sia ƒe ʋukɔkɔɖi metso gbɔnye o; ke boŋ etso mia gbɔ!”
25 and all the people answered and said, His blood be on us, and on our children.
Ameha la do ɣli sesĩe be, “Eƒe ʋukɔkɔɖi ƒe tohehe neva mí kple mía viwo dzi faa!”
26 Then he released to them Barabbas: but he ordered Jesus to be scourged, and delivered Him to be crucified.
27 Then the soldiers of the governor took Jesus into the hall, and gathered the whole band about Him:
Gbã la, asrafoawo kplɔe yi ɖe afi si aʋawɔnuwo nɔna la, eye asrafoha la katã va ƒo xlãe.
28 and when they had stript Him, they covered Him with a scarlet robe;
Woɖe eƒe awu siwo wòdo la le eŋuti, eye wotsɔ awu dzĩ do nɛ,
29 and having platted a crown of thorns, they put it upon his head, and a reed in his right hand; and they bowed the knee before Him in derision, saying, Hail king of the Jews:
eye wotsɔ ŋu didi aɖewo wɔ fiakuku heɖɔ nɛ, eye wotsɔ fiatikplɔ hã de eƒe nuɖusime me. Wodzea klo ɖe eŋkume fewuɖutɔe, eye wogblɔna be, “Míedo gbe na wò, Yudatɔwo ƒe fia.”
30 and they spit upon Him, and took the reed and struck Him on the head.
31 And after they had thus abused Him, they took off the scarlet robe from Him, and put on Him his own clothes, and led Him away to be crucified.
Esi wowu fewuɖuɖu la nu la, woɖe awu dzĩ la le eŋuti, eye wotsɔ eya ŋutɔ ƒe awuwo do nɛ, eye wokplɔe dzoe yina kaklã ge ɖe ati ŋuti.
32 And as they were going along they met with a man of Cyrene, whose name was Simon; and forced him to carry the cross.

33 And when they were come to a place called Golgotha, that is to say,
34 the place of a skull, they gave Him vinegar to drink mingled with gall: but when He had tasted it, He would not drink.
Asrafoawo tsɔ wain si me wode gbe siwo vena la nɛ be wòano, gake esi wòɖɔe kpɔ la, egbe enono.
35 And after they had fixed Him to the cross, they parted his garments, casting lots: that it might be fulfilled, which was spoken by the prophet, They parted my garments among them, and upon my vesture did they cast lots.
36 And they sat down and watched Him there: and put up over his head his accusation in writing,
Esia megbe la, wonɔ anyi ɖe afi ma henɔ eŋu dzɔm.
37 THIS IS THE KING OF THE JEWS.
38 And there were two thieves crucified with Him: one on his right hand, and one on the left.
39 And they that passed by reviled Him, shaking their heads,
Ame siwo to teƒea va yina la dzui hegblɔ nya vlo geɖewo ɖe eŋuti. Woʋuʋua ta fewuɖutɔe be,
40 and saying, Thou that destroyest the temple, and buildest it again in three days, save thyself: if thou art the Son of God, come down from the cross.
“Ke alee wòle! Àte ŋu agbã gbedoxɔ la, agbugbɔ atui le ŋkeke etɔ̃ megbe. Màte ŋui oa? Ne àte ŋui, eye nènye Mawu ƒe Vi tututu la, ɖe ɖokuiwò le atitsoga la ŋuti!”
41 And in like manner the chief priests also insulting Him, with the scribes and elders,
42 said, He saved others, himself He cannot save: if He be the king of Israel, let Him come down now from the cross, and we will believe Him:
“Èɖe ame bubuwo, gake màte ŋu aɖe ɖokuiwò o! Ke wò boŋue nye Israel ƒe fia la? Nenye wòe la, ɖi le atitsoga la ŋuti, ekema míaxɔ dziwò ase.
43 He trusted in God, let Him deliver Him now, if He will own Him; for He said, I am the Son of God.
Ebe yexɔ Mawu dzi se; Mawu neɖo kpe eƒe xɔse la dzi ne wòaɖee le atia ŋuti. Alo menye eyae gblɔ be, ‘Mawu ƒe Vi menye’ oa?”
44 And one of the thieves also, that were crucified with Him, cast the same reproach upon Him.
45 Now from the sixth hour to the ninth there was darkness over all the land.
Le ŋdɔ ma la, zãdokeli do ɖe anyigba la katã dzi gaƒoƒo etɔ̃ sɔŋ, tso ŋdɔ ga wuieve va se ɖe ɣetrɔ ga etɔ̃ me.
46 And about the ninth hour Jesus cried out with a loud voice, saying, "Eli, Eli, lama sabachthani," that is to say, My God, my God, why hast thou forsaken me?
Le ɣetrɔ ga etɔ̃ me la, Yesu do ɣli sesĩe be, “Eli, Eli, lama sabaktani?” (si gɔmee nye, “Nye Mawu, nye Mawu, nu ka ŋuti nègblẽm ɖi mahã?”).
47 And some of them that stood by, hearing Him, said, He calls upon Elias:
Nukpɔla siwo le afi ma la dometɔ aɖewo mese nya si wògblɔ la gɔme nyuie o, eye wobu be Eliya yɔm wòle.
48 and immediately one of them ran, and took a spunge, and having filled it with vinegar put it upon a reed, and offered it Him to drink;
Ameawo dometɔ ɖeka ƒu du ɖatsɔ aha tsitsi, eye wòkɔe ɖe akutsa tɔxɛ aɖe me. Etɔ akutsa la ɖe ati nu, eye wòtsɔe ɖo nu na Yesu.
49 the rest said, Stay, let us see whether Elias will come and save Him.
Ke ame bubuwo gblɔ nɛ be, “Ɖe asi le eŋuti ne míakpɔe ɖa be Eliya ava ɖee le atia ŋuti hã.”
50 But Jesus cried out again with a loud voice; and then gave up the ghost.
Yesu gado ɣli sesĩe ake. Etsɔ eƒe gbɔgbɔ la na, eye wòku kpoo.
51 And behold the veil of the temple was rent in two from the top to the bottom, and the earth was shaken, and the rocks were split:

54 And when the centurion, and they that were with him guarding Jesus, saw the earthquake, and what was done, they were sore afraid, and said, This was indeed the Son of God.

55 And several women were there looking on at a distance, who had followed Jesus from Galilee, ministring unto Him:

57 And in the evening, there came a rich man of Arimathea, whose name was Joseph, who also himself was a disciple of Jesus, and went to Pilate,

59 and Joseph took the body and wrapped it in a clean linen cloth,

61 but there was Mary Magdalene, and the other Mary sitting over against the sepulchre.

62 Now the next day after the preparation, the chief priests and pharisees went together to Pilate, saying, Sir, we remember that this impostor,

65 But Pilate said to them, Ye have a guard of your own, go and make it as secure as ye will.
Pilato ɖo nya la ŋu na wo be, “Mikplɔ asrafo siawo yi ne woadzɔ yɔdo la ŋu nyuie.”
66 So they went and made the sepulchre safe, sealing the stone, and setting a guard to watch it.
