< Romans 9 >
1 I tell the truth in Messiah. I am not lying, my conscience testifying with me in the Holy Spirit
Enaika echimali mu Kristo. Nitakwaika lulimi, no mutima gwani ogumbambalila amwi nanye mu Mwoyo Mwelu,
2 that I have great sorrow and unceasing pain in my heart.
ati bhulio obhusulumbae bwafu no bhunyoke bhunu bhutakuwamo mu Mwoyo gwani.
3 For I could wish that I myself were accursed from Messiah for my brothers’ sake, my relatives according to the flesh
Ati anye nakendele omwene nifumilisibhwe no kutaganywa koleleki nibhe kula na Kristo ingulu ya bhaili bhanu, bhaliya abho luganda lwani mu mubhili.
4 who are Israelites; whose is the adoption, the glory, the covenants, the giving of the law, the service, and the promises;
Bhenene ni Bhaisraeli. bhanu bhali no kukoleka bhana, bha likusho lya malagano, ne bhiyanwa bhye bhilagilo, okumulamya Nyamuanga ne emilago.
5 of whom are the fathers, and from whom is Messiah as concerning the flesh, who is over all, God, blessed forever. Amen. (aiōn )
Bhenene ni bhanu bhanu bhatangatile bhanu Kristo ejile mu chibhalo no kufwala omubhili gunu- gunu omwene ni Nyamuanga wa bhona. Mwene asimwe kajanende. Amina. (aiōn )
6 But it is not as though the word of God has come to nothing. For they are not all Israel that are of Israel.
Mbe nawe atali ati emilago ja Nyamuanga jasingilwe okukumila. Kulwo kubha atali ati bhuli munu unu ali Israeli ni Mwiisraeli koto.
7 Neither, because they are Abraham’s offspring, are they all children. But, “your offspring will be accounted as from Isaac.”
Atali nolwo mu lwibhulo lwa Abrahamu ati ni bhana bhae koto. Mbe nawe, “ni kulabha ku lwibhulo lwa Isaka wae olubhilikilwa.”
8 That is, it is not the children of the flesh who are children of God, but the children of the promise are counted as heirs.
Jinu na ati, abhana bho mubhili bhatali bhana bha Nyamuanga. Mbe nawe abhana bho mulago abhalolelelwa kuti ni lwibhulo.
9 For this is a word of promise: “At the appointed time I will come, and Sarah will have a son.”
Kulwo kubha gunu nigwo omusango gwo mulago: “Mu mwanya kuti gunu enija, na Sara kajo kuyanwa omwana.”
10 Not only so, but Rebekah also conceived by one, by our father Isaac.
Litali linu-ela, nawe okumala Rebheka nabhona inda ku munu umwi, Isaka Lata weswe-
11 For being not yet born, neither having done anything good or bad, that the purpose of God according to election might stand, not of works, but of him who calls,
ati abhana bhaliga bhachali lwibhulo na aliga achali kukola musango gwona gwona gunu guli mukonde amwi mubhibhi, koleleki ati okwenda kwa Nyamuanga okulubhana no bhusosi limelegulu, nolwo atali kulwe bhikolwa, mbe nawe ni kwa insonga ya uliya unu kabhilikila.
12 it was said to her, “The elder will serve the younger.”
Jaikilwe ku mwene, “Omukulu alimukolela omutoto.”
13 Even as it is written, “Jacob I loved, but Esau I hated.”
Lwa kutyo jeishe nijandikwa: “Yakobho namwendele, mbe nawe Esau namubhiililiywe.”
14 What shall we say then? Is there unrighteousness with God? May it never be!
Mbe lindi chije chaikeki? Angu bhulio obhunyamuke ku Nyamuanga? Uli nakatyali.
15 For he said to Moses, “I will have mercy on whom I have mercy, and I will have compassion on whom I have compassion.”
Kulwo kubha kaika ku. Musa, “Enibha ne chigongo kuyo unu enifwilwa chigongo, na enibha no bhusasisi. kuyo enisasila.”
16 So then it is not of him who wills, nor of him who runs, but of God who has mercy.
Kulwejo woli, atali kunsonga yo mwene unu Kenda, nolwo atali kunsonga yo mwene unu kabhilima, mbe nawe kunsonga ya Nyamuanga unu kelesha echigongo
17 For the Scripture says to Pharaoh, “For this very purpose I caused you to be raised up, that I might show in you my power, and that my name might be proclaimed in all the earth.”
Kulwo kubha amaandiko agaika ku Farao, “ku nsonga inu abhwelu nakwauye, koleleki ati neleshe amanaga gani kwae, kunsonga ati lisina lyani likumusibhwe mu chalo chona.”
18 So then, he has mercy on whom he desires, and he hardens whom he desires.
Kwibhyo woli, Nyamuanga kabhaga ane chigongo ku wona wona unu Kenda, na ku unu kamwenda, kamukola kubha mutamu-tamu.
19 You will say then to me, “Why does he still find fault? For who withstands his will?”
Okumala oujo okwaika kwanye, “Kulwaki uchali niwelesha obhunyamuke? Ni uya unu eile okwikomesha mu kwenda kwae?”
20 But indeed, O man, who are you to reply against God? Will the thing formed ask him who formed it, “Why did you make me like this?”
Mu bhutasikene bhwae, omwana munu, awe nawega unu ousubhya mu bhutasikene na Nyamuanga? Bhulio obhutulikano bhwona bhwona mu chinu chinu chimogelwe okwaika ku mumogi, “Kulwaki wankolele kutya anye?”
21 Or hasn’t the potter a right over the clay, from the same lump to make one part a vessel for honor, and another for dishonor?
Angu omumogi one kabhaga ne chimali ingulu ya limoga okukolwa echinu kwo kuchikolela okulubhana na litole lilya lilya, ne chinu chinu kwo kuchikolela bhuli lusiku?
22 What if God, willing to show his wrath and to make his power known, endured with much patience vessels of wrath prepared for destruction,
Kutiki alabha Nyamuanga, unu ali mu bhwangu bhwo kwelesha lisungu lyae no kukola amanaga gae gamenyekane, ekomesishe kwo kwigumilisha kutyo bhiile ku bhinu bhya lisungu kubhinu bhaliga bhilabhile kwo kusimagisha?
23 and that he might make known the riches of his glory on vessels of mercy, which he prepared beforehand for glory—
Kutiki alabha akolele kutya koleleki ati eleshe obhwafu bhwa likusho lyae ingulu ye bhinu bhye chigongo, lwa kutyo aliya elabhile ingulu ya likusho?
24 us, whom he also called, not from the Jews only, but also from the Gentiles?
Kutiki alabha akolele gunu one kweswe, unu one achibhilikie, atali ati okusoka mu Bhayaudi, nawe one okusoka ku bhanu bha Maanga?
25 As he says also in Hosea, “I will call them ‘my people,’ which were not my people; and her ‘beloved,’ who was not beloved.”
Lwakutyo Kaila one mu Hosea: “Enibhabhilikila abhanu bhani bhanu bhaliga bhatali bhanu bhani, no mwendwa wae unu aliga atakwendibhwa.
26 “It will be that in the place where it was said to them, ‘You are not my people,’ there they will be called ‘children of the living God.’”
Na ejibha ati aliya anu jaikilwe ku bhene, 'emwe mutali bhanu bhani,' Aliya bhalibhilikilwa 'Bhana bha Nyamuanga unu alamile.'”
27 Isaiah cries concerning Israel, “If the number of the children of Israel are as the sand of the sea, it is the remnant who will be saved;
Isaya kalila okulubhana na Abhaisraeli, “Nolwo obhukumi bhwa bhana bha Israeli bhwakabhee lwo musenyi gwa ku mwalo, one obhubha bhuli bhusago bhunu obhukisibhwa.
28 for he will finish the work and cut it short in righteousness, because the Lord will make a short work upon the earth.”
Kulwo kubha Latabhugenyi aligugega omusago gwae ingulu ye chalo, bhwangu na kwo kukumisha.
29 As Isaiah has said before, “Unless the Lord of Hosts had left us a seed, we would have become like Sodom, and would have been made like Gomorrah.”
Na lwakutyo Isaya aikile mu bhambilo, “Latabhugenyi we bhise atachisigie inyuma olwibhulo ingulu yeswe, chakabhae lwa Sodoma, na cha kakolelwe lwa Gomola.
30 What shall we say then? That the Gentiles, who didn’t follow after righteousness, attained to righteousness, even the righteousness which is of faith;
Mbe echaikaki woli? Ati abhanu bha Maanga bhanu bhaliga bhatakuyeja bhulengelesi, bhabhwene obhulengelesi, obhulengelesi mu kwikilisha.
31 but Israel, following after a law of righteousness, didn’t arrive at the law of righteousness.
Nawe omuisraeli, unu ayenjaga ebhilagilo mu bhulengelesi, ataikingiye.
32 Why? Because they didn’t seek it by faith, but as it were by works of the law. They stumbled over the stumbling stone,
Kulwaki jitali kutyo? Kunsonga bhataiyenjele mu kwikilisha, nawe kwe ebhikolwa bhekujuye ingulu ya libhui elyo kwikujula,
33 even as it is written, “Behold, I lay in Zion a stumbling stone and a rock of offense; and no one who believes in him will be disappointed.”
Lwa kutyo jaliga jamalile okwandikwa, “Lola, nimamishe libhui elyo kwikujula mu Sayuni na litale elyo kuyabhya. Mwenene unu kekilisha mu lunu ataliswala.”
