Numbers 19
1 Yahweh spoke to Moses and to Aaron, saying,
Yavé habló a Moisés y a Aarón:
2 “This is the statute of the law which Yahweh has commanded. Tell the children of Israel to bring you a red heifer without spot, in which is no defect, and which was never yoked.
Ésta es la ordenanza de la Ley que Yavé ordenó: Dí a los hijos de Israel que te traigan una vaca bermeja, perfecta, en la cual no haya defecto, sobre la cual no se haya puesto yugo.
3 You shall give her to Eleazar the priest, and he shall bring her outside of the camp, and one shall kill her before his face.
La darán al sacerdote Eleazar, quien la sacará fuera del campamento, y [uno] la degollará en presencia de él.
4 Eleazar the priest shall take some of her blood with his finger, and sprinkle her blood toward the front of the Tent of Meeting seven times.
Luego el sacerdote Eleazar tomará de su sangre con su dedo, y con esa sangre rociará siete veces hacia la parte delantera del Tabernáculo de Reunión.
5 One shall burn the heifer in his sight; her skin, and her meat, and her blood, with her dung, shall he burn.
Después [uno] quemará la vaca delante de él. Se quemará la piel, la carne, la sangre y el estiércol.
6 The priest shall take cedar wood, hyssop, and scarlet, and cast it into the middle of the burning of the heifer.
El sacerdote tomará un palo de cedro, un hisopo y escarlata, y los echará en medio de la hoguera de la vaca.
7 Then the priest shall wash his clothes, and he shall bathe his flesh in water, and afterward he shall come into the camp, and the priest shall be unclean until the evening.
El sacerdote lavará sus vestiduras con agua, lavará su cuerpo en agua y después entrará en el campamento, pero el sacerdote quedará impuro hasta llegar la noche.
8 He who burns her shall wash his clothes in water, and bathe his flesh in water, and shall be unclean until the evening.
También el que la quemó lavará su ropa y su cuerpo con agua, y será impuro hasta llegar la noche.
9 “A man who is clean shall gather up the ashes of the heifer, and lay them up outside of the camp in a clean place; and it shall be kept for the congregation of the children of Israel for use in water for cleansing impurity. It is a sin offering.
Luego, un hombre purificado recogerá las cenizas de la vaca y las pondrá en un lugar limpio fuera del campamento. La congregación de los hijos de Israel las guardará para [preparar] el agua que limpia de impureza.
10 He who gathers the ashes of the heifer shall wash his clothes, and be unclean until the evening. It shall be to the children of Israel, and to the stranger who lives as a foreigner among them, for a statute forever.
El que haya recogido las cenizas de la vaca lavará sus ropas y quedará impuro hasta llegar la noche. Esto será estatuto perpetuo para los hijos de Israel y el extranjero que peregrina entre ellos.
11 “He who touches the dead body of any man shall be unclean seven days.
El que toque el cadáver de una persona será impuro siete días.
12 He shall purify himself with water on the third day, and on the seventh day he shall be clean; but if he doesn’t purify himself the third day, then the seventh day he shall not be clean.
Al tercer día se purificará con esa agua, y al séptimo día quedará limpio. Pero si al tercer día no se purifica, no quedará limpio al séptimo día.
13 Whoever touches a dead person, the body of a man who has died, and doesn’t purify himself, defiles Yahweh’s tabernacle; and that soul shall be cut off from Israel; because the water for impurity was not sprinkled on him, he shall be unclean. His uncleanness is yet on him.
Todo el que toque el cadáver de una persona, y no se purifique, contamina el Tabernáculo de Yavé. Esta persona será cortada de Israel, por cuanto el agua para la impureza no fue rociada sobre él. Será impuro y su impureza estará sobre él.
14 “This is the law when a man dies in a tent: everyone who comes into the tent, and everyone who is in the tent, shall be unclean seven days.
Esta es la Ley para cuando un hombre muera en una tienda: Todo el que entre en la tienda y todo el que esté en ella, estará impuro siete días.
15 Every open vessel, which has no covering bound on it, is unclean.
Toda vasija abierta que no tenga la tapa bien ajustada quedará impura.
16 “Whoever in the open field touches one who is slain with a sword, or a dead body, or a bone of a man, or a grave, shall be unclean seven days.
Cualquiera que toque un muerto por espada en el campo, o cualquier muerto, osamenta o sepulcro, quedará impuro siete días.
17 “For the unclean, they shall take of the ashes of the burning of the sin offering; and running water shall be poured on them in a vessel.
Para ese impuro se tomará ceniza de la vaca quemada en el sacrificio que apacigua, y se echará agua corriente sobre ella en una vasija.
18 A clean person shall take hyssop, dip it in the water, and sprinkle it on the tent, on all the vessels, on the persons who were there, and on him who touched the bone, or the slain, or the dead, or the grave.
Luego, un hombre purificado tomará una rama de hisopo y la mojará en el agua. Rociará la tienda, todos los utensilios y a las personas que estén allí junto con aquel que haya tocado la osamenta, el cadáver o el sepulcro.
19 The clean person shall sprinkle on the unclean on the third day, and on the seventh day. On the seventh day, he shall purify him. He shall wash his clothes and bathe himself in water, and shall be clean at evening.
El tercero y el séptimo día, el que está purificado rociará al impuro. Cuando lo haya purificado el séptimo día, lavará sus ropas y se lavará en agua. Al llegar la noche quedará purificado.
20 But the man who shall be unclean, and shall not purify himself, that soul shall be cut off from among the assembly, because he has defiled the sanctuary of Yahweh. The water for impurity has not been sprinkled on him. He is unclean.
Pero el que esté impuro y no se purifique, esa persona será cortada de en medio de la congregación, porque contaminó el Santuario de Yavé. El agua para la impureza no se roció sobre él, por tanto es impuro.
21 It shall be a perpetual statute to them. He who sprinkles the water for impurity shall wash his clothes, and he who touches the water for impurity shall be unclean until evening.
Les será estatuto perpetuo. El que roció el agua para la purificación lavará sus ropas, y el que sacó el agua para la purificación será impura hasta llegar la noche.
22 “Whatever the unclean person touches shall be unclean; and the soul that touches it shall be unclean until evening.”
Todo lo que el impuro toque será impuro, y la persona que lo toque quedará impuro hasta llegar la noche.
