2 Again she gave birth, to Cain’s brother Abel. Abel was a keeper of sheep, but Cain was a tiller of the ground.
And again she bore his brother Abel. And Abel was a keeper of sheep, but Cain was a tiller of the ground.
3 As time passed, Cain brought an offering to the LORD from the fruit of the ground.
And in process of time it came to pass, that Cain brought an offering to Jehovah of the fruit of the ground.

And Abel, he also brought of the firstlings of his flock and of the fat of it. And Jehovah had respect to Abel and to his offering,
5 but he didn’t respect Cain and his offering. Cain was very angry, and the expression on his face fell.
but he did not have respect to Cain and to his offering. And Cain was very angry, and his countenance fell.
6 The LORD said to Cain, “Why are you angry? Why has the expression of your face fallen?
And Jehovah said to Cain, Why are thou angry? And why has thy countenance fallen?
7 If you do well, won’t it be lifted up? If you don’t do well, sin crouches at the door. Its desire is for you, but you are to rule over it.”
If thou do well, shall thou not be accepted? And if thou do not well, sin crouches at the door. Its desire shall be for thee, and thou shall rule over it.

10 The LORD said, “What have you done? The voice of your brother’s blood cries to me from the ground.
And he said, What have thou done? The voice of thy brother's blood cries to me from the ground.
11 Now you are cursed because of the ground, which has opened its mouth to receive your brother’s blood from your hand.
And now cursed are thou from the ground, which has opened its mouth to receive thy brother's blood from thy hand.
12 From now on, when you till the ground, it won’t yield its strength to you. You will be a fugitive and a wanderer in the earth.”
When thou till the ground, it shall not henceforth yield to thee its strength. A fugitive and a wanderer thou shall be on the earth.
13 Cain said to the LORD, “My punishment is greater than I can bear.
And Cain said to Jehovah, My punishment is greater than I can bear.
14 Behold, you have driven me out today from the surface of the ground. I will be hidden from your face, and I will be a fugitive and a wanderer in the earth. Whoever finds me will kill me.”
Behold, thou have driven me out this day from the face of the ground, and I shall be hid from thy face, and I shall be a fugitive and a wanderer in the earth. And it shall come to pass, that whoever finds me shall slay me.
15 The LORD said to him, “Therefore whoever slays Cain, vengeance will be taken on him sevenfold.” The LORD appointed a sign for Cain, so that anyone finding him would not strike him.

26 A son was also born to Seth, and he named him Enosh. At that time men began to call on the LORD’s name.
And to Seth, to him also there was born a son, and he called his name Enosh. Then men began to call upon the name of Jehovah.
