< Isaiah 31 >

1 Woe to those who go down to Egypt for help, and rely on horses, and trust in chariots because they are many, and in horsemen because they are very strong, but they don’t look to the Holy One of Israel, and they don’t seek the LORD!
Ègbé ni fún àwọn tí ó sọ̀kalẹ̀ lọ sí Ejibiti fún ìrànlọ́wọ́, tí wọn gbẹ́kẹ̀lé ẹṣin tí wọ́n fi ìgbẹ́kẹ̀lé wọn sí ọ̀pọ̀lọpọ̀ kẹ̀kẹ́-ẹṣin wọn àti agbára ńlá àwọn ẹlẹ́ṣin wọn, ṣùgbọ́n tiwọn kò bojú wo Ẹni Mímọ́ Israẹli n nì, tàbí kí wọn wá ìrànlọ́wọ́ lọ́dọ̀ Olúwa.
2 Yet he also is wise, and will bring disaster, and will not call back his words, but will arise against the house of the evildoers, and against the help of those who work iniquity.
Síbẹ̀síbẹ̀ òun pẹ̀lú jẹ́ ọlọ́gbọ́n ó sì lè mú ìparun wá; òun kì í kó ọ̀rọ̀ rẹ̀ jẹ. Òun yóò dìde sí ilé àwọn ìkà, àti sí àwọn tí ń ṣe ìrànlọ́wọ́ fún aṣebi.
3 Now the Egyptians are men, and not God; and their horses flesh, and not spirit. When the LORD stretches out his hand, both he who helps shall stumble, and he who is helped shall fall, and they all shall be consumed together.
Ṣùgbọ́n ènìyàn lásán ni àwọn ará Ejibiti wọn kì í ṣe Ọlọ́run; ẹran-ara ni àwọn ẹṣin wọn, kì í ṣe ẹ̀mí. Nígbà tí Olúwa bá na ọwọ́ rẹ̀ jáde, ẹni náà tí ó ń ṣèrànwọ́ yóò kọsẹ̀, ẹni náà tí à ń ràn lọ́wọ́ yóò ṣubú; àwọn méjèèjì yóò sì jùmọ̀ parun.
4 For the LORD says to me, “As the lion and the young lion growling over his prey, if a multitude of shepherds is called together against him, will not be dismayed at their voice, nor abase himself for their noise, so the LORD of Armies will come down to fight on Mount Zion and on its heights.
Èyí ni ohun tí Olúwa sọ fún mi: “Gẹ́gẹ́ bí i kìnnìún ti í ké àní kìnnìún ńlá lórí ẹran ọdẹ rẹ̀ bí a tilẹ̀ rí ẹgbẹ́ àwọn olùṣọ́-àgùntàn tí a sì pè wọ́n papọ̀ láti kojú rẹ̀, ẹ̀rù kò lè bà á pẹ̀lú igbe wọn akitiyan wọn kò sì lè dí i lọ́wọ́ bẹ́ẹ̀ gẹ́gẹ́ ni Olúwa àwọn ọmọ-ogun yóò sọ̀kalẹ̀ wá láti jagun lórí òkè Sioni àti lórí ibi gíga rẹ̀.
5 As birds hovering, so the LORD of Armies will protect Jerusalem. He will protect and deliver it. He will pass over and preserve it.”
Gẹ́gẹ́ bí àwọn ẹyẹ ti ń rábàbà lókè Olúwa àwọn ọmọ-ogun yóò dáàbò bo Jerusalẹmu, Òun yóò dáàbò bò ó, yóò sì tú u sílẹ̀ Òun yóò ré e kọjá yóò sì gbà á sílẹ̀.”
6 Return to him from whom you have deeply revolted, children of Israel.
Ẹ padà sọ́dọ̀ ẹni tí ẹ ti ṣọ̀tẹ̀ sí gidigidi, ẹ̀yin ọmọ Israẹli.
7 For in that day everyone shall cast away his idols of silver and his idols of gold—sin which your own hands have made for you.
Nítorí ní ọjọ́ náà, ẹnìkọ̀ọ̀kan yín yóò kọ àwọn ère fàdákà àti wúrà tí ọwọ́ ẹ̀ṣẹ̀ yín ti ṣe.
8 “The Assyrian will fall by the sword, not of man; and the sword, not of mankind, shall devour him. He will flee from the sword, and his young men will become subject to forced labour.
“Asiria yóò ṣubú lọ́wọ́ idà kan tí kò ti ọwọ́ ènìyàn wá; idà tí kì í ṣe ti ẹ̀dá alààyè ni yóò pa wọ́n. Wọn yóò sì sá níwájú idà náà àti àwọn ọmọkùnrin wọn ni a ó fún ní iṣẹ́ ipá ṣe.
9 His rock will pass away by reason of terror, and his princes will be afraid of the banner,” says the LORD, whose fire is in Zion, and his furnace in Jerusalem.
Àpáta rẹ yóò kọjá lọ fún ẹ̀rù; àwọn olórí rẹ yóò bẹ̀rù asia náà,” ni Olúwa wí, ẹni tí iná rẹ̀ ń bẹ ní Sioni, ẹni tí ìléru rẹ̀ wà ní Jerusalẹmu.
