Psalms 91

1 He that dwelleth in the secret place of the Most High shall abide under the shadow of the Almighty.

Los que viven bajo la protección del Altísimo, permanecerán seguros con el Todopoderoso.

2 I will say of the LORD, [He is] my refuge and my fortress: my God; in him will I trust.

Esto es lo que diré del Señor: “Él es el único que me protege y me defiende. Él es mi Dios, y confío en él”.

3 Surely he shall deliver thee from the snare of the fowler, [and] from the noisome pestilence.

Porque él te salvará de trampas escondidas y de enfermedades mortales.

4 He shall cover thee with his feathers, and under his wings shalt thou trust: his truth [shall be thy] shield and buckler.

Te esconderá bajo sus plumas, y te abrigará bajo sus alas. Su verdad te protegerá y te escudará.

5 Thou shalt not be afraid for the terror by night; [nor] for the arrow [that] flieth by day;

No tendrás miedo del terror nocturno, ni de las flechas que vuelan por el día,

6 [Nor] for the pestilence [that] walketh in darkness; [nor] for the destruction [that] wasteth at noon-day.

o de las enfermedades que atacan en la noche, o de catástrofes que caen al mediodía.

7 A thousand shall fall at thy side, and ten thousand at thy right hand; [but] it shall not come nigh thee.

Porque mil caerán a tu lado, y diez mil morirán a tu derecha, pero tú no serás dañado.

8 Only with thy eyes shalt thou behold and see the reward of the wicked.

Solo tendrás que abrir los ojos para que veas cómo los malos reciben su merecido.

9 Because thou hast made the LORD [who is] my refuge, [even] the Most High, thy habitation;

Ya que has hecho del Señor tu protección, y del Altísimo tu morada,

10 There shall no evil befall thee, neither shall any plague come nigh thy dwelling.

nada malo te pasará; ninguna plaga se acercará donde vives.

11 For he shall give his angels charge over thee, to keep thee in all thy ways.

Porque él mandará a sus ángeles para que te cuiden en todo lo que hagas.

12 They shall bear thee up in [their] hands, lest thou dash thy foot against a stone.

Te sostendrán con sus manos para que no tropieces y caigas.

13 Thou shalt tread upon the lion and adder: the young lion and the dragon shalt thou trample under feet.

Pisotearás leones y serpientes; hollarás crías de leones y víboras.

14 Because he hath set his love upon me, therefore will I deliver him: I will set him on high, because he hath known my name.

Yo salvaré a todo el que me ame; protegeré a todo el que me acepte.

15 He shall call upon me, and I will answer him: I [will be] with him in trouble; I will deliver him, and honor him.

Cuando clamen a mí pro ayuda, Responderé; cuando estén en problemas, Estaré con ellos. Los salvaré y los honraré.

16 With long life will I satisfy him, and show him my salvation.

Les daré una larga vida, y les mostraré mi salvación.
