Psalms 31
1 To the chief Musician, A Psalm of David. In thee, O LORD, do I put my trust; let me never be ashamed: deliver me in thy righteousness.
Davidin Psalmi edelläveisaajalle. Herra, sinuun minä uskallan, etten minä ikänä häpiään tulisi: vapahda minua sinun vanhurskautes kautta.
2 Bow down thy ear to me; deliver me speedily: be thou my strong rock, for a house of defense to save me.
Kallista korvas minun puoleeni, auta minua äkisti: ole minulle vahva kallio ja linna minua auttamaan;
3 For thou [art] my rock and my fortress; therefore for thy name's sake lead me, and guide me.
Sillä sinä olet minun kallioni ja minun linnani, ettäs siis sinun nimes tähden minua taluttaisit ja veisit;
4 Pull me out of the net that they have laid privily for me: for thou [art] my strength.
Ettäs minun kirvottaisit verkosta, jonka he minun eteeni virittivät; sillä sinä olet minun väkevyyteni.
5 Into thy hand I commit my spirit: thou hast redeemed me, O LORD God of truth.
Sinun käsiis annan minä henkeni, sinä olet minun lunastanut, Herra, sinä totinen Jumala.
6 I have hated them that regard lying vanities: but I trust in the LORD.
Minä vihaan niitä, jotka pitävät väärää oppia; mutta minä uskallan Herraan.
7 I will be glad and rejoice in thy mercy: for thou hast considered my trouble; thou hast known my soul in adversities;
Minä ihastun ja riemuitsen sinun hyvyytes tähden, ettäs katsot minun raadollisuuttani, ja tunnet minun sieluni tuskassa.
8 And hast not shut me up into the hand of the enemy: thou hast set my foot in a large room.
Ja et sinä sulje minua vihollisteni käsiin: sinä asetat minun avaraan paikkaan.
9 Have mercy upon me, O LORD, for I am in trouble: my eye is consumed with grief, [yes], my soul and my belly.
Herra, ole minulle armollinen, sillä minä ahdistetaan; minun kasvoni ovat muuttuneet murheesta, niin myös minun sieluni ja vatsani.
10 For my life is spent with grief, and my years with sighing: my strength faileth because of my iniquity, and my bones are consumed.
Sillä minun elämäni on kulutettu murheesta, ja minun vuoteni huokauksesta: minun voimani on rauvennut pahain tekoin kautta, ja minun luuni ovat muserretut.
11 I was a reproach among all my enemies, but especially among my neighbors, and a fear to my acquaintance: they that saw me without fled from me.
Minä olen pilkaksi tullut kaikille vihamiehilleni ja kylällisilleni ylönpalttisesti, ja hämmästykseksi tuttavilleni: jotka minun ulkona näkevät, pakenevat minua.
12 I am forgotten as a dead man out of mind: I am like a broken vessel.
Minä olen sydämestä unhotettu niinkuin kuollut: minä olen niinkuin rikottu astia.
13 For I have heard the slander of many: fear [was] on every side: while they took counsel together against me, they devised to take away my life.
Sillä minä kuulen monen häväistyksen, että jokainen karttaa minua: he pitävät keskenänsä neuvoa minusta, ja tahtovat ottaa minun henkeni.
14 But I trusted in thee, O LORD: I said, Thou [art] my God.
Mutta minä toivon sinuun, Herra, ja sanon: sinä olet minun Jumalani!
15 My times [are] in thy hand: deliver me from the hand of my enemies, and from them that persecute me.
Minun aikani ovat sinun käsissäs: pelasta minua vihollisteni kädestä ja niistä, jotka minua vainoovat.
16 Make thy face to shine upon thy servant: save me for thy mercies' sake.
Anna kasvos paistaa palvelias päälle: auta minua laupiutes kautta.
17 Let me not be ashamed, O LORD; for I have called upon thee: let the wicked be ashamed, and let them be silent in the grave. (Sheol h7585)
Herra, älä minun anna häpiään tulla; sillä sinua minä avuksi huudan: jumalattomat tulkoon häpiään, vaijetkoon helvetissä. (Sheol h7585)
18 Let the lying lips be put to silence; which speak grievous things proudly and contemptuously against the righteous.
Tulkoon mykäksi väärät suut, jotka puhuvat vanhurskasta vastaan kovasti ylpeydestä ja ylönkatseesta.
19 [Oh] how great [is] thy goodness, which thou hast laid up for them that fear thee; [which] thou hast wrought for them that trust in thee before the sons of men!
Kuinka suuri on sinun hyvyytes, jonka panit tallelle niille, jotka sinua pelkäävät! ja jonka niille osoitat, jotka sinuun uskaltavat, ihmisten lasten edessä!
20 Thou shalt hide them in the secret of thy presence from the pride of man: thou shalt keep them secretly in a pavilion from the strife of tongues.
Sinä kätket heitä tykönäs salaisesti jokaisen haastosta: sinä peität heitä majassas riiteleväisistä kielistä.
21 Blessed [be] the LORD: for he hath showed me his wonderful kindness in a strong city.
Herra olkoon kiitetty, että hän on minulle osoittanut ihmeellisen hyvyyden, vahvassa kaupungissa.
22 For I said in my haste, I am cut off from before thy eyes: nevertheless thou heardest the voice of my supplications when I cried to thee.
Sillä minä sanoin pikaisuudessani: minä olen sinun silmäis edestä sysätty pois: kuitenkin kuulit sinä rukoukseni äänen, koska minä sinun tykös huusin.
23 O love the LORD, all ye his saints: [for] the LORD preserveth the faithful, and plentifully rewardeth the proud doer.
Rakastakaat Herraa, kaikki hänen pyhänsä; Herra varjelee uskollisia ja runsaasti kostaa niille, jotka ylpeyttä harjoittelevat.
24 Be of good courage, and he will strengthen your heart, all ye that hope in the LORD.
Olkaat hyvässä turvassa, ja hän vahvistaa teidän sydämenne, kaikki jotka Herraa odotatte.
