< Nahum 3 >
1 Woe to the bloody city! it [is] all full of lies [and] robberies; the prey departeth not;
Nnome nka mogya kuropɔn a atoro ne korɔn ahyɛ no ma na amanehunufo mpa mu da!
2 The noise of a whip, and the noise of the rattling of the wheels, and of the prancing horses, and of the bounding chariots.
Apɔnkɔkafo abaa regyigye, nteaseɛnam nhankare reyɛ kirididi Apɔnkɔ rehuruhuruw ne nteaseɛnam redankyidankyi.
3 The horseman lifteth up both the bright sword, and the glittering spear: and [there is] a multitude of slain, and a great number of carcasses; and [there is] no end of [their] corpses; they stumble upon their corpses:
Apɔnkɔ ne wɔn sotefo ko kɔ wɔn anim; afoa twa yerɛw yerɛw, na mpeaw nso pa yerɛw yerɛw. Atɔfo bebree, awufo a bi deda bi so, afunu a wontumi nkan wɔn dodow a nnipa tiatia so.
4 Because of the multitude of the lewd deeds of the well-favored harlot, the mistress of witchcrafts, that selleth nations through her lewd deeds, and families through her witchcrafts.
Eyi nyinaa fi oguamanfo bi akɔnnɔ, ntafowayifo no nnaadaa dodow no. Ɔno na ɔde nʼaguamammɔ tɔn amanaman na ɔde ne ntafowayi tɔn nnipa.
5 Behold, I [am] against thee, saith the LORD of hosts; and I will remove thy skirts upon thy face, and I will show the nations thy nakedness, and the kingdoms thy shame.
“Me ne wo nka,” sɛnea Asafo Awurade se ni, “Mɛpagyaw wʼatade akɔ soro. Mɛma amanaman ahu wʼadagyaw na ahenni ahorow nso ahu wʼanimguase.
6 And I will cast abominable filth upon thee, and make thee vile, and will set thee as a gazing-stock.
Mede fi bɛsra wo ho, mebu wo animtiaa na mama nnipa ahwɛ wo.
7 And it shall come to pass, [that] all they that look upon thee shall flee from thee, and say, Nineveh is laid waste: who will bemoan her; whence shall I seek comforters for thee?
Obiara a obehu wo beguan afi wo ho aka se, ‘Ninewe adwiriw, na hena na obesu no?’ Ɛhe na menya obi akyekye wo werɛ?”
8 Art thou better than populous No, that was situated among the rivers, [that had] the waters around it, whose rampart [was] the sea, [and] her wall [was] from the sea?
Wuye sen Tebes a ɛda Asubɔnten Nil ho a nsu atwa ne ho ahyia ana? Asubɔnten bɔ ne ho ban na nsu yɛ ne fasu.
9 Cush and Egypt [were] her strength, and [it was] infinite; Put and Lubim were thy helpers.
Kus ne Misraim yɛ ne dɔm a wontumi nkan wɔn. Put ne Libia ka nʼadomfo ho.
10 Yet [was] she carried away, she went into captivity: her young children also were dashed in pieces at the head of all the streets: and they cast lots for her honorable men, and all her great men were bound in chains.
Nanso wɔfaa no nnommum twaa no asu. Wɔtow ne nkokoaa hwehwee fam ma wɔtetee wɔ mmɔnten so. Wɔbɔɔ nʼadehye so ntonto, na nʼatitiriw nso wɔde nkɔnsɔnkɔnsɔn guguu wɔn.
11 Thou also shalt be drunken: thou shalt be hid, thou also shalt seek strength because of the enemy.
Wo nso wobɛbow Na wubehintaw wo ho de akɔpɛ guankɔbea wɔ atamfo nkyɛn.
12 All thy strong holds [shall be like] fig-trees with the first ripe figs: if they be shaken, they shall even fall into the mouth of the eater.
Wʼaban nyinaa te sɛ borɔdɔma nnua a asow aba foforo: sɛ wɔwosow a aba no tetew gu ma nea ɔrehwehwɛ bi adi.
13 Behold, thy people in the midst of thee [are] women: the gates of thy land shall be set wide open to thy enemies: the fire shall devour thy bars.
Hwɛ wʼakofo wɔn nyinaa yɛ mmea! Wʼasase so apon ano deda hɔ ma wʼatamfo; ogya ahyew wʼapon no akyi adaban.
14 Draw thee waters for the siege, fortify thy strong holds: go into clay, and tread the mortar, make strong the brick-kiln.
Sesaw nsu sie ma bere a wɔatua mo ano no. Yere wo bammɔ mu! Wɔw dɔte no na siesie ntayaa a wɔato no!
15 There shall the fire devour thee; the sword shall cut thee off, it shall eat thee up like the canker-worm: make thyself many as the canker-worm, make thyself many as the locusts.
Ɛhɔ na ogya bɛhyew wo; afoa betwa wo ahwe fam, wobedi wo nam sɛ mmoadabikuw. Monnɔ sɛ tɛwtɛw, mo ase mfɛe sɛ mmoadabi!
16 Thou hast multiplied thy merchants above the stars of heaven: the canker-worm spoileth, and flieth away.
Woama wʼaguadifo adɔɔso, wɔn dodow asen ɔsoro nsoromma, nanso wɔte sɛ mmoadabi a wɔbɔ asase no kwaterekwa na afei wotu kɔ.
17 Thy crowned [are] as the locusts, and thy captains as the great grasshoppers, which settle in the hedges in the cold day, [but] when the sun ariseth they flee away, and their place is not known where they [are].
Wʼawɛmfo te sɛ mmoadabi. Wʼadwumayɛfo te sɛ mmoadabi akuw a wɔsensam ban ho awɔw da. Nanso sɛ owia pue a wotu kɔ, na obi nnim faako a wɔkɔ.
18 Thy shepherds slumber, O king of Assyria: thy nobles shall dwell [in the dust]: thy people are scattered upon the mountains, and no man gathereth [them].
Asiriahene wo nguanhwɛfo retɔ nko. Wʼanuonyamfo deda hɔ rehome. Wo nkurɔfo abɔ apete wɔ mmepɔw no so a wonni anoboaboafo.
19 [There is] no healing of thy bruise; thy wound is grievous: all that hear the fame of thee shall clap the hands over thee: for upon whom hath not thy wickedness passed continually?
Aduru biara rentumi nkum wʼapirakuru no; wo kuru no bekum wo. Obiara a ɔte wo nka no bɔ ne nsam wɔ wʼasehwe ho, Na hena koraa na wʼatirimɔdensɛm no bi nkaa no da?
