Judges 16
1 Then went Samson to Gaza, and saw there a harlot, and went in to her.
E foi Sansão a Gaza, e viu ali uma mulher prostituta, e se deitou com ela.
2 [And it was told] the Gazites, saying, Samson is come hither. And they encompassed [him], and laid wait for him all night in the gate of the city, and were quiet all the night, saying, In the morning when it is day we shall kill him.
E foi dito aos de Gaza: Sansão veio aqui. E cercaram-no, e puseram-lhe espias toda aquela noite à porta da cidade: e estiveram calados toda aquela noite, dizendo: Até a luz da manhã; então o mataremos.
3 And Samson lay till midnight, and arose at midnight, and took the doors of the gate of the city, and the two posts, and went away with them, bar and all, and put [them] upon his shoulders, and carried them up to the top of a hill that [is] before Hebron.
Mas Sansão dormiu até a meia noite; e à meia noite se levantou, e tomando as portas da cidade com seus dois pilares e seu ferrolho, lançou-as ao ombro, e foi-se, e subiu-se com elas ao cume do monte que está diante de Hebrom.
4 And it came to pass afterward, that he loved a woman in the valley of Sorek, whose name [was] Delilah.
Depois disto aconteceu que se apaixonou por uma mulher no vale de Soreque, a qual se chamava Dalila.
5 And the lords of the Philistines came to her, and said to her, Entice him, and see in what his great strength [lieth], and by what [means] we may prevail against him, that we may bind him to afflict him: and we will give thee every one of us eleven hundred [pieces] of silver.
E vieram a ela os príncipes dos filisteus, e disseram-lhe: Engana-o e sabe em que consiste sua grande força, e como o poderíamos vencer, para que o amarremos e o atormentemos; e cada um de nós te dará mil e cem siclos de prata.
6 And Delilah said to Samson, Tell me, I pray thee, in what thy great strength [lieth], and with what thou mayest be bound to afflict thee.
E Dalila disse a Sansão: Eu te rogo que me declares em que consiste tua grande força, e como poderás ser acorrentado para ser atormentado.
7 And Samson said to her, If they bind me with seven green withs, that were never dried, then shall I be weak, and be as another man.
E respondeu-lhe Sansão: Se me atarem com sete vimes verdes que ainda não estejam secos, então me debilitarei, e serei como qualquer um dos homens.
8 Then the lords of the Philistines brought to her seven green withs, which had not been dried, and she bound him with them.
E os príncipes dos filisteus lhe trouxeram sete vimes verdes que ainda não se haviam secado, e atou-lhe com eles.
9 (Now [there were] men lying in wait, abiding with her in the chamber.) And she said to him, The Philistines [are] upon thee, Samson. And he broke the withs as a thread of tow is broken when it toucheth the fire. So his strength was not known.
E estavam espias em casa dela em uma câmara. Então ela lhe disse: Sansão, os filisteus sobre ti! E ele rompeu os vimes, como se rompe uma corda de estopa quando sente o fogo: e não se soube sua força.
10 And Delilah said to Samson, Behold, thou hast mocked me, and told me lies: now tell me, I pray thee, with what thou mayest be bound.
Então Dalila disse a Sansão: Eis que tu me enganaste, e me disseste mentiras: revela-me pois agora, eu te rogo, como poderás ser acorrentado.
11 And he said to her, If they bind me fast with new ropes that never were used, then shall I be weak, and be as another man.
E ele lhe disse: Se me atarem fortemente com cordas novas, com as quais nenhuma coisa se tenha feito, eu me debilitarei, e serei como qualquer um dos homens.
12 Delilah therefore took new ropes, and bound him with them, and said to him, The Philistines [are] upon thee, Samson. (And [there were] liers in wait abiding in the chamber.) And he broke them from off his arms like a thread.
E Dalila tomou cordas novas, e atou-lhe com elas, e disse-lhe: Sansão, os filisteus sobre ti! E os espias estavam em uma câmara. Mas ele as rompeu de seus braços como um fio.
13 And Delilah said to Samson, hitherto thou hast mocked me, and told me lies: tell me with what thou mayest be bound. And he said to her, If thou weavest the seven locks of my head with the web.
E Dalila disse a Sansão: Até agora me enganas, e tratas comigo com mentiras. Revela-me pois agora como poderás ser acorrentado. Ele então lhe disse: Se teceres sete tranças de minha cabeça com a teia.
14 And she fastened [it] with the pin, and said to him, The Philistines [are] upon thee, Samson. And he awaked out of his sleep, and went away with the pin of the beam, and with the web.
E ela fincou a estaca, e disse-lhe: Sansão, os filisteus sobre ti! Mas despertando ele de seu sonho, arrancou a estaca do tear com a teia.
15 And she said to him, How canst thou say, I love thee, when thy heart [is] not with me? Thou hast mocked me these three times, and hast not told me in what thy great strength [lieth].
E ela lhe disse: Como dizes, Eu te amo, pois que teu coração não está comigo? Já me enganaste três vezes, e não me hás ainda descoberto em que está tua grande força.
16 And it came to pass when she pressed him daily with her words, and urged him, [so] that his soul was vexed to death;
E aconteceu que, pressionando-lhe ela cada dia com suas palavras e importunando-lhe, sua alma foi reduzida à mortal angústia.
17 That he told her all his heart, and said to her, There hath not come a razor upon my head; for I [have been] a Nazarite to God from my birth: if I be shaved, then my strength will go from me, and I shall become weak, and be like any [other] man.
Revelou-lhe, pois, todo seu coração, e disse-lhe: Nunca a minha cabeça chegou navalha; porque sou nazireu de Deus desde o ventre de minha mãe. Se for rapado, minha força se apartará de mim, e serei debilitado, e como todos os homens.
18 And when Delilah saw that he had told her all his heart, she sent and called for the lords of the Philistines, saying, Come up this once, for he hath disclosed to me all his heart. Then the lords of the Philistines came up to her and brought money in their hand.
E vendo Dalila que ele lhe havia revelado todo seu coração, mandou chamar aos príncipes dos filisteus, dizendo: Vinde esta vez, porque ele me revelou todo seu coração. E os príncipes dos filisteus vieram a ela, trazendo em sua mão o dinheiro.
19 And she made him sleep upon her knees; and she called for a man, and she caused him to shave off the seven locks of his head; and she began to afflict him, and his strength went from him.
E ela fez que ele dormisse sobre seus joelhos; e chamado um homem, rapou-lhe sete tranças de sua cabeça, e começou a afligi-lo, pois sua força se apartou dele.
20 And she said, the Philistines [are] upon thee, Samson. And he awoke out of his sleep, and said, I will go out as at other times before, and shake myself. And he knew not that the LORD had departed from him.
E disse-lhe: Sansão, os filisteus sobre ti! E logo que despertou ele de seu sonho, se disse: Esta vez sairei como as outras, e me escaparei: não sabendo que o SENHOR já se havia dele apartado.
21 But the Philistines took him and put out his eyes, and brought him down to Gaza, and bound him with fetters of brass; and he did grind in the prison-house.
Mas os filisteus lançaram mão dele, e tiraram-lhe os olhos, e o levaram a Gaza; e o ataram com correntes, para que moesse no cárcere.
22 However the hair of his head began to grow again after he was shaved.
E o cabelo de sua cabeça começou a crescer, depois que foi rapado.
23 Then the lords of the Philistines assembled to offer a great sacrifice to Dagon their god, and to rejoice: for they said, Our god hath delivered Samson our enemy into our hand.
Então os príncipes dos filisteus se juntaram para oferecer sacrifício a Dagom seu deus, e para alegrar-se; e disseram: Nosso deus entregou em nossas mãos a Sansão nosso inimigo.
24 And when the people saw him, they praised their god: for they said, Our god hath delivered into our hands our enemy, and the destroyer of our country; who slew many of us.
E vendo-o o povo, louvaram a seu deus, dizendo: Nosso deus entregou em nossas mãos a nosso inimigo, e ao destruidor de nossa terra, o qual havia matado a muitos de nós.
25 And it came to pass, when their hearts were merry, that they said, Call for Samson that he may make us sport. And they called for Samson out of the prison-house; and he made them sport: and they set him between the pillars.
E aconteceu que, indo-se alegrando o coração deles, disseram: Chamai a Sansão, para que divirta diante de nós. E chamaram a Sansão do cárcere, e fazia de joguete diante deles; e puseram-no entre as colunas.
26 And Samson said to the lad that held him by the hand, Suffer me that I may feel the pillars upon which the house standeth, that I may lean upon them.
E Sansão disse ao jovem que o guiava pela mão: Aproxima-me, e faze-me segurar as colunas sobre que se sustenta a casa, para que me apoie sobre elas.
27 Now the house was full of men and women: and all the lords of the Philistines [were] there: and [there were] upon the roof about three thousand men and women, that beheld while Samson made sport.
E a casa estava cheia de homens e mulheres: e todos os príncipes dos filisteus estavam ali; e no alto piso havia como três mil homens e mulheres, que estavam olhando o escárnio de Sansão.
28 And Samson called to the LORD, and said, O Lord GOD, remember me, I pray thee, and strengthen me, I pray thee, only this once, O God, that I may be at once avenged of the Philistines for my two eyes.
Então clamou Sansão ao SENHOR, e disse: Senhor DEUS, lembra-te agora de mim, e esforça-me, te rogo, somente esta vez, ó Deus, para que de uma vez tome vingança dos filisteus, por meus dois olhos.
29 And Samson took hold of the two middle pillars upon which the house stood, and on which it was supported, of the one with his right hand, and of the other with his left.
Agarrou logo Sansão as duas colunas do meio sobre as quais se sustentava a casa, e apoiou-se nelas, a uma com a direita, e a outra com a esquerda;
30 And Samson said, Let me die with the Philistines. And he bowed himself with [all his] might; and the house fell upon the lords, and upon all the people that [were] in it. So the dead which he slew at his death were more than [they] which he slew in his life.
E disse Sansão: Morra eu com os filisteus. E apoiando com força, caiu a casa sobre os príncipes, e sobre todo aquele povo que estava nela. E foram muitos mais os que deles matou morrendo, que os que havia matado em sua vida.
31 Then his brethren and all the house of his father came down, and took him, and brought [him] up, and buried him between Zorah and Eshtaol in the burying-place of Manoah his father. And he judged Israel twenty years.
E desceram seus irmãos e toda a casa de seu pai, e tomaram-no, e levaram-no, e o sepultaram entre Zorá e Estaol, no sepulcro de seu pai Manoá. E ele julgou a Israel vinte anos.
