Judges 13

1 And the children of Israel did evil again in the sight of the LORD; and the LORD delivered them into the hand of the Philistines forty years.

E os filhos de Israel voltaram a fazer o mal aos olhos do SENHOR; e o SENHOR os entregou por mão dos filisteus, por quarenta anos.

2 And there was a certain man of Zorah, of the family of the Danites, whose name [was] Manoah; and his wife [was] barren, and bore not.

E havia um homem de Zorá, da tribo de Dã, o qual se chamava Manoá; e sua mulher era estéril, que nunca havia dado à luz.

3 And the angel of the LORD appeared to the woman, and said to her, Behold, now, thou [art] barren, and bearest not: but thou shalt conceive, and bear a son.

A esta mulher apareceu o anjo do SENHOR, e disse-lhe: Eis que tu és estéril, e não pariste: mas conceberás e darás à luz um filho.

4 Now therefore beware, I pray thee, and drink not wine, nor strong drink, and eat not any unclean [thing]:

Agora, pois, olha que agora não bebas vinho, nem bebida forte, nem comas coisa imunda.

5 For lo, thou shalt conceive, and bear a son; and no razor shall come on his head: for the child shall be a Nazarite to God from his birth: and he shall begin to deliver Israel from the hand of the Philistines.

Porque tu te farás grávida, e darás à luz um filho: e não subirá navalha sobre sua cabeça, porque aquele menino será nazireu a Deus desde o ventre, e ele começará a salvar a Israel da mão dos filisteus.

6 Then the woman came and told her husband, saying, A man of God came to me, and his countenance [was] like the countenance of an angel of God, very terrible: but I asked him not whence he [was], neither did he tell me his name:

E a mulher veio e contou-o a seu marido, dizendo: Um homem de Deus veio a mim, cujo aspecto era como o aspecto de um anjo de Deus, terrível em grande maneira; e não lhe perguntei de onde nem quem era, nem tampouco ele me disse seu nome.

7 But he said to me, Behold, thou shalt conceive, and bear a son; and now drink no wine nor strong drink, neither eat any unclean [thing]: for the child shall be a Nazarite to God from his birth to the day of his death.

E disse-me: Eis que tu conceberás, e darás à luz um filho: portanto, agora não bebas vinho, nem bebida forte, nem comas coisa imunda; porque este menino desde o ventre será nazireu a Deus até o dia de sua morte.

8 Then Manoah entreated the LORD, and said, O my LORD, let the man of God, whom thou didst send come again to us, and teach us what we shall do to the child that shall be born.

Então orou Manoá ao SENHOR, e disse: Ah, Senhor meu, eu te rogo que aquele homem de Deus que enviaste, torne agora a vir a nós, e nos ensine o que havemos de fazer com o menino que há de nascer.

9 And God hearkened to the voice of Manoah; and the angel of God came again to the woman as she sat in the field: but Manoah her husband [was] not with her.

E Deus ouviu a voz de Manoá: e o anjo de Deus voltou outra vez à mulher, estando ela no campo; mas seu marido Manoá não estava com ela.

10 And the woman made haste, and ran, and showed her husband, and said to him, Behold, the man hath appeared to me, that came to me the [other] day.

E a mulher correu prontamente, e noticiou-o a seu marido, dizendo-lhe: Olha que se me apareceu aquele homem que veio a mim o outro dia.

11 And Manoah arose, and went after his wife, and came to the man, and said to him, [Art] thou the man that didst speak to the woman? And he said, I [am].

E levantou-se Manoá, e seguiu a sua mulher; e assim que chegou ao homem, disse-lhe: És tu aquele homem que falaste à mulher? E ele disse: Eu sou.

12 And Manoah said, Now let thy words come to pass. How shall we order the child, and [how] shall we do to him?

Então Manoá disse: Cumpra-se pois tua palavra. Que ordem se terá com o menino, e que deve?

13 And the angel of the LORD said to Manoah, Of all that I said to the woman, let her beware.

E o anjo do SENHOR respondeu a Manoá: A mulher se guardará de todas as coisas que eu lhe disse:

14 She may not eat of any [thing] that cometh of the vine, neither let her drink wine or strong drink, nor eat any unclean [thing]; all that I commanded her let her observe.

Ela não comerá coisa que proceda da vide que dá vinho; não beberá vinho nem bebida forte, e não comerá coisa imunda: há de guardar tudo o que lhe mandei.

15 And Manoah said to the angel of the LORD, I pray thee, let us detain thee, until we shall have made ready a kid for thee.

Então Manoá disse ao anjo do SENHOR: Rogo-te permitas que te detenhamos, e preparemos um cabrito que pôr diante de ti.

16 And the angel of the LORD said to Manoah, Though thou shouldst detain me, I will not eat of thy bread: and if thou wilt offer a burnt-offering, thou must offer it to the LORD. For Manoah knew not that he [was] an angel of the LORD.

E o anjo do SENHOR respondeu a Manoá: Ainda que me detenhas não comerei de teu pão: mas se quiseres fazer holocausto, sacrifica-o ao SENHOR. E não sabia Manoá que aquele fosse anjo do SENHOR.

17 And Manoah said to the angel of the LORD, What [is] thy name, that when thy sayings come to pass, we may do thee honor?

Então disse Manoá ao anjo do SENHOR: Como é teu nome, para que quando se cumprir tua palavra te honremos?

18 And the angel of the LORD said to him, why askest thou thus after my name, seeing it [is] secret?

E o anjo do SENHOR respondeu: Por que perguntas por meu nome, que é oculto?

19 So Manoah took a kid, with a meat-offering, and offered [it] upon a rock to the LORD; and [the angel] did wonderously, and Manoah and his wife looked on.

E Manoá tomou um cabrito das cabras e uma oferta de alimentos, e o sacrificou sobre uma rocha ao SENHOR; e o anjo fez algo sobrenatural à vista de Manoá e de sua mulher.

20 For it came to pass, when the flame ascended towards heaven from off the altar, that the angel of the LORD ascended in the flame of the altar. And Manoah and his wife looked on [it], and fell on their faces to the ground.

Porque aconteceu que, quando a chama subia do altar até o céu, o anjo do SENHOR subiu na chama do altar à vista de Manoá e de sua mulher, os quais se prostraram em terra sobre seus rostos.

21 But the angel of the LORD did no more appear to Manoah and to his wife. Then Manoah knew that he [was] an angel of the LORD.

E o anjo do SENHOR não voltou a aparecer a Manoá nem à sua mulher. Então conheceu Manoá que era o anjo do SENHOR.

22 And Manoah said to his wife, We shall surely die, because we have seen God.

E disse Manoá à sua mulher: Certamente morreremos, porque vimos a Deus.

23 But his wife said to him, If the LORD were pleased to kill us, he would not have received a burnt-offering and a meat-offering at our hands, neither would he have showed us all these [things], nor would, as at this time, have told us [such things] as these.

E sua mulher lhe respondeu: Se o SENHOR nos quisesse matar, não tomaria de nossas mãos o holocausto e a oferta de alimentos, nem nos teria mostrado todas estas coisas, nem em tal tempo nos haveria anunciado isto.

24 And the woman bore a son, and called his name Samson. And the child grew, and the LORD blessed him.

E a mulher deu à luz um filho, e chamou-lhe por nome Sansão. E o menino creceu, e o SENHOR o abençoou.

25 And the Spirit of the LORD began to move him at times in the camp of Dan, between Zorah and Eshtaol.

E o espírito do SENHOR começou a manifestar-se nele nos acampamentos de Dã, entre Zorá e Estaol.
