Job 5
1 Call now, if there is any that will answer thee; and to which of the saints wilt thou turn?
Nenne mir einen; was gilt's, ob du einen findest? Und siehe dich um irgend nach einem Heiligen.
2 For wrath killeth the foolish man, and envy slayeth the silly one.
Einen Tollen aber erwürget wohl der Zorn, und den Albernen tötet der Eifer.
3 I have seen the foolish taking root: but suddenly I cursed his habitation.
Ich sah einen Tollen eingewurzelt, und ich fluchte plötzlich seinem Hause.
4 His children are far from safety, and they are crushed in the gate, neither [is there] any to deliver [them].
Seine Kinder werden ferne sein vom Heil und werden zerschlagen werden im Tor, da kein Erretter sein wird.
5 Whose harvest the hungry eateth up, and taketh it even out of the thorns, and the robber swalloweth up their substance.
Seine Ernte wird essen der Hungrige, und die Gewappneten werden ihn holen, und sein Gut werden die Durstigen aussaufen.
6 Although affliction cometh not forth from the dust, neither doth trouble spring out of the ground;
Denn Mühe aus der Erde nicht gehet, und Unglück aus dem Acker nicht wächset,
7 Yet man is born to trouble, as the sparks fly upward.
sondern der Mensch wird zu Unglück geboren, wie die Vögel schweben, emporzufliegen.
8 I would seek to God, and to God would I commit my cause:
Doch ich will jetzt von Gott reden und von ihm handeln,
9 Who doeth great things and unsearchable; wonderful things without number:
der große Dinge tut, die nicht zu forschen sind, und Wunder, die nicht zu zählen sind;
10 Who giveth rain upon the earth, and sendeth waters upon the fields:
der den Regen aufs Land gibt und lässet Wasser kommen auf die Straßen;
11 To set on high those that are low: that those who mourn may be exalted to safety.
der die Niedrigen erhöhet und den Betrübten emporhilft.
12 He disappointeth the devices of the crafty, so that their hands cannot perform [their] enterprise.
Er macht zunichte die Anschläge der Listigen, daß es ihre Hand nicht ausführen kann.
13 He taketh the wise in their own craftiness: and the counsel of the froward is carried headlong.
Er fähet die Weisen in ihrer Listigkeit und stürzet der Verkehrten Rat,
14 They meet with darkness in the day-time, and grope in the noon-day as in the night.
daß sie des Tages in Finsternis laufen und tappen im Mittag wie in der Nacht;
15 But he saveth the poor from the sword, from their mouth, and from the hand of the mighty.
und hilft dem Armen von dem Schwert und von ihrem Munde und von der Hand des Mächtigen;
16 So the poor hath hope, and iniquity stoppeth her mouth.
und ist des Armen Hoffnung, daß die Bosheit wird ihren Mund müssen zuhalten.
17 Behold, happy [is] the man whom God correcteth: therefore despise not thou the chastening of the Almighty:
Siehe, selig ist der Mensch, den Gott strafet; darum weigere dich der Züchtigung des Allmächtigen nicht!
18 For he maketh sore, and bindeth up: he woundeth, and his hands make whole.
Denn er verletzet und verbindet; er zerschmeißet, und seine Hand heilet.
19 He will deliver thee in six troubles: yea, in seven there shall no evil touch thee.
Aus sechs Trübsalen wird er dich erretten, und in der siebenten wird dich kein Übel rühren.
20 In famine he will redeem thee from death: and in war from the power of the sword.
In der Teurung wird er dich vom Tode erlösen und im Kriege von des Schwerts Hand.
21 Thou shalt be hid from the scourge of the tongue: neither shalt thou be afraid of destruction when it cometh.
Er wird dich verbergen vor der Geißel der Zunge, daß du dich nicht fürchtest vor dem Verderben, wenn es kommt.
22 At destruction and famine thou shalt laugh: neither shalt thou be afraid of the beasts of the earth.
Im Verderben und Hunger wirst du lachen und dich vor den wilden Tieren im Lande nicht fürchten,
23 For thou shalt be in league with the stones of the field: and the beasts of the field shall be at peace with thee.
sondern dein Bund wird sein mit den Steinen auf dem Felde, und die wilden Tiere auf dem Lande werden Frieden mit dir halten;
24 And thou shalt know that thy tabernacle [will be] in peace; and thou shalt visit thy habitation, and shalt not sin.
und wirst erfahren, daß deine Hütte Frieden hat; und wirst deine Behausung versorgen und nicht sündigen;
25 Thou shalt know also that thy seed [will be] great, and thy offspring as the grass of the earth.
und wirst erfahren, daß deines Samens wird viel werden und deine Nachkommen wie das Gras auf Erden;
26 Thou shalt come to [thy] grave in a full age, as a shock of corn cometh in in its season.
und wirst im Alter zu Grabe kommen, wie Garben eingeführet werden zu seiner Zeit.
27 Lo this, we have searched it, so it [is]; hear it, and know thou [it] for thy good.
Siehe, das haben wir erforschet, und ist also; dem gehorche und merke du dir's!
