Job 5
1 Call now, if there is any that will answer thee; and to which of the saints wilt thou turn?
| ادْعُ الآنَ، فَهَلْ مِنْ مُجِيبٍ؟ وَإِلَى أَيِّ القِدِّيسِينَ تَلْتَفِتُ؟ | ١ |
2 For wrath killeth the foolish man, and envy slayeth the silly one.
| الْغَيْظُ يَقْتُلُ الأَحْمَقَ، وَالْغَيْرَةُ تُمِيتُ الأَبْلَهَ. | ٢ |
3 I have seen the foolish taking root: but suddenly I cursed his habitation.
| لَقَدْ شَاهَدْتُ الْغَبِيَّ يَتَأَصَّلُ، ثُمَّ لَمْ أَلْبَثْ أَنْ لَعَنْتُ مَسْكَنَهُ. | ٣ |
4 His children are far from safety, and they are crushed in the gate, neither [is there] any to deliver [them].
| أَبْنَاؤُهُ لَا أَمْنَ لَهُمْ. يَتَحَطَّمُونَ عِنْدَ الْبَابِ وَلا مُنْقِذَ. | ٤ |
5 Whose harvest the hungry eateth up, and taketh it even out of the thorns, and the robber swalloweth up their substance.
| يَأْكُلُ الْجَائِعُ حَصِيدَهُمْ، وَيَلْتَهِمُهُ حَتَّى مِنْ بَيْنِ الشَّوْكِ، وَيَمْتَصُّ الظَّامِئُ ثَرْوَتَهُمْ. | ٥ |
6 Although affliction cometh not forth from the dust, neither doth trouble spring out of the ground;
| إِنَّ الْبَلِيَّةَ لَا تَخْرُجُ مِنَ التُّرَابِ، وَالْمَشَقَّاتِ لَا تَنْبُتُ مِنَ الأَرْضِ، | ٦ |
7 Yet man is born to trouble, as the sparks fly upward.
| وَمَعَ ذَلِكَ فَإِنَّ الإِنْسَانَ مَوْلُودٌ لِمُعَانَاةِ الْمَتَاعِبِ، كَمَا وُلِدَتِ الْجَوَارِحُ لِتُحَلِّقَ بِأَجْنِحَتِهَا. | ٧ |
8 I would seek to God, and to God would I commit my cause:
| لَوْ كُنْتُ فِي مَكَانِكَ لاتَّجَهْتُ إِلَى اللهِ وَعَرَضْتُ أَمْرِي عَلَيْهِ. | ٨ |
9 Who doeth great things and unsearchable; wonderful things without number:
| هُوَ صَانِعُ عَجَائِبَ لَا تُفْحَصُ وَعَظَائِمَ لَا تُحْصَى. | ٩ |
10 Who giveth rain upon the earth, and sendeth waters upon the fields:
| يُهْطِلُ الْغَيْثَ عَلَى وَجْهِ الأَرْضِ، وَيُرْسِلُ الْمِيَاهَ إِلَى الْحُقُولِ. | ١٠ |
11 To set on high those that are low: that those who mourn may be exalted to safety.
| يُقِيمُ الْمُتَوَاضِعِينَ فِي الْعُلَى، وَيَرْفَعُ النَّائِحِينَ إِلَى مَكَانِ الطُّمَأْنِينَةِ. | ١١ |
12 He disappointeth the devices of the crafty, so that their hands cannot perform [their] enterprise.
| يُبْطِلُ تَدْبِيرَاتِ الْمُحْتَالِينَ فَيُخْفِقُونَ، | ١٢ |
13 He taketh the wise in their own craftiness: and the counsel of the froward is carried headlong.
| أَوْ يُوْقِعُ الْحُكَمَاءَ فِي خِدْعَتِهِمْ، فَتَتَلاشَى مَشُورَةُ الْمَاكِرِينَ. | ١٣ |
14 They meet with darkness in the day-time, and grope in the noon-day as in the night.
| يَكْتَنِفُهُمْ ظَلامٌ فِي النَّهَارِ، وَيَتَحَسَّسُونَ طَرِيقَهُمْ فِي الظَّهِيرَةِ، كَمَنْ يَمْشِي فِي اللَّيْلِ. | ١٤ |
15 But he saveth the poor from the sword, from their mouth, and from the hand of the mighty.
| يُنَجِّي الْبَائِسِينَ مِنْ سَيْفِ فَمِهِمْ، وَمِنْ قَبْضَةِ الْقَوِيِّ يُنْقِذُهُمْ، | ١٥ |
16 So the poor hath hope, and iniquity stoppeth her mouth.
| فَيُصْبِحُ لِلْمِسْكِينِ رَجَاءٌ، وَالظُّلْمُ يَسُدُّ فَمَهُ. | ١٦ |
17 Behold, happy [is] the man whom God correcteth: therefore despise not thou the chastening of the Almighty:
| طُوبَى لِلرَّجُلِ الَّذِي يُقَوِّمُهُ اللهُ، فَلا تَرْفُضْ تَأْدِيبَ الْقَدِيرِ. | ١٧ |
18 For he maketh sore, and bindeth up: he woundeth, and his hands make whole.
| لأَنَّ اللهَ يَجْرَحُ وَيَعْصِبُ، يَسْحَقُ وَيَدَاهُ تُبْرِئَانِ. | ١٨ |
19 He will deliver thee in six troubles: yea, in seven there shall no evil touch thee.
| مِنْ سِتِّ بَلايَا يُنَجِّيكَ، وَفِي سَبْعٍ لَا يَقَعُ بِكَ أَذىً. | ١٩ |
20 In famine he will redeem thee from death: and in war from the power of the sword.
| يَفْدِيكَ مِنَ الْمَوْتِ جُوعاً، وَفِي الْحَرْبِ مِنَ الْمَوْتِ بِحَدِّ السَّيْفِ. | ٢٠ |
21 Thou shalt be hid from the scourge of the tongue: neither shalt thou be afraid of destruction when it cometh.
| يَقِيكَ مِنْ لَذَعَاتِ اللِّسَانِ، فَلا تَخَافُ مِنَ الدَّمَارِ إِذَا أَقْبَلَ. | ٢١ |
22 At destruction and famine thou shalt laugh: neither shalt thou be afraid of the beasts of the earth.
| تَسْخَرُ مِنَ الدَّمَارِ وَالْمَجَاعَةِ، وَلا تَخْشَى وُحُوشَ الأَرْضِ، | ٢٢ |
23 For thou shalt be in league with the stones of the field: and the beasts of the field shall be at peace with thee.
| لأَنَّ عَهْدَكَ مَعَ حِجَارَةِ الْحَقْلِ، وَوُحُوشُ الصَّحْرَاءِ تُسَالِمُكَ. | ٢٣ |
24 And thou shalt know that thy tabernacle [will be] in peace; and thou shalt visit thy habitation, and shalt not sin.
| فَتُدْرِكُ أَنَّ خَيْمَتَكَ آمِنَةٌ، وَتَتَعَهَّدُ حَظِيرَتَكَ فَلا تَفْقِدُ شَيْئاً. | ٢٤ |
25 Thou shalt know also that thy seed [will be] great, and thy offspring as the grass of the earth.
| عِنْدَئِذٍ تَعْلَمُ أَنَّ ذُرِّيَّتَكَ كَثِيرَةٌ، وَأَنَّ نَسْلَكَ كَعُشْبِ الأَرْضِ، | ٢٥ |
26 Thou shalt come to [thy] grave in a full age, as a shock of corn cometh in in its season.
| وَتَدْخُلُ الْقَبْرَ فِي شَيْبَةٍ نَاضِجَةٍ، كَمَا يُرْفَعُ كُدْسُ الْقَمْحِ فِي مَوْسِمِهِ. | ٢٦ |
27 Lo this, we have searched it, so it [is]; hear it, and know thou [it] for thy good.
| فَانْظُرْ. هَذَا مَا بَحَثْنَا عَنْهُ، وَهُوَ حَقٌّ، فَاسْمَعْهُ وَاخْتَبِرْهُ بِنَفْسِكَ». | ٢٧ |
