Jeremiah 36
1 And it came to pass in the fourth year of Jehoiakim the son of Josiah king of Judah, [that] this word came to Jeremiah from the LORD, saying,
Im vierten Jahr Jojakims, des Sohns Josias, des Königs Judas, geschah dies Wort zu Jeremia vom HERRN und sprach:
2 Take thee a roll of a book, and write in it all the words that I have spoken to thee against Israel, and against Judah, and against all the nations, from the day I spoke to thee, from the days of Josiah, even to this day.
Nimm ein Buch und schreibe darein alle Reden, die ich zu dir geredet habe über Israel, über Juda und alle Völker von der Zeit an, da ich zu dir geredet habe, nämlich von der Zeit Josias an bis auf diesen Tag,
3 It may be that the house of Judah will hear all the evil which I purpose to do to them; that they may return every man from his evil way; that I may forgive their iniquity and their sin.
ob vielleicht das Haus Juda, wo sie hören all das Unglück, das ich ihnen gedenke zu tun, sich bekehren wollten, ein jeglicher von seinem bösen Wesen, damit ich ihnen ihre Missetat und Sünde vergeben könnte.
4 Then Jeremiah called Baruch the son of Neriah: and Baruch wrote from the mouth of Jeremiah all the words of the LORD, which he had spoken to him, upon a roll of a book.
Da rief Jeremia Baruch, den Sohn Nerias. Derselbige Baruch schrieb in ein Buch aus dem Munde Jeremias alle Reden des HERRN, die er zu ihm geredet hatte.
5 And Jeremiah commanded Baruch, saying, I [am] confined, I cannot go into the house of the LORD:
Und Jeremia gebot Baruch und sprach: Ich bin gefangen, daß ich nicht kann in des HERRN Haus gehen.
6 Therefore go thou and read in the roll, which thou hast written from my mouth, the words of the LORD in the ears of the people in the LORD'S house upon the day of fasting: and also thou shalt read them in the ears of all Judah that come out of their cities.
Du aber gehe hinein und lies das Buch, darein du des HERRN Reden aus meinem Munde geschrieben hast, vor dem Volk im Hause des HERRN am Fasttage; und sollst sie auch lesen vor den Ohren des ganzen Juda, die aus ihren Städten hereinkommen,
7 It may be they will present their supplication before the LORD, and will return every one from his evil way: for great [is] the anger and the fury that the LORD hath pronounced against this people.
ob sie vielleicht sich mit Beten vor dem HERRN demütigen wollten und sich bekehren, ein jeglicher von seinem bösen Wesen; denn der Zorn und Grimm ist groß, davon der HERR wider dies Volk geredet hat.
8 And Baruch the son of Neriah did according to all that Jeremiah the prophet commanded him, reading in the book the words of the LORD in the LORD'S house.
Und Baruch, der Sohn Nerias, tat alles, wie ihm der Prophet Jeremia befohlen hatte, daß er die Reden des HERRN aus dem Buch läse im Hause des HERRN.
9 And it came to pass in the fifth year of Jehoiakim the son of Josiah king of Judah, in the ninth month, [that] they proclaimed a fast before the LORD to all the people in Jerusalem, and to all the people that came from the cities of Judah to Jerusalem.
Es begab sich aber im fünften Jahr Jojakims, des Sohns Josias, des Königs Judas, im neunten Monden, daß man ein Fasten verkündigte vor dem HERRN allem Volk zu Jerusalem und allem Volk, das aus den Städten Judas gen Jerusalem kommt.
10 Then Baruch read in the book the words of Jeremiah in the house of the LORD, in the chamber of Gemariah the son of Shaphan the scribe, in the higher court, at the entry of the new gate of the LORD'S house, in the ears of all the people.
Und Baruch las aus dem Buch die Reden Jeremias im Hause des HERRN, in der Kapelle Gemarjas, des Sohns Saphans, des Kanzlers, im obern Vorhofe vor dem neuen Tor am Hause des HERRN, vor dem ganzen Volk.
11 When Michaiah the son of Gemariah, the son of Shaphan, had heard out of the book all the words of the LORD,
Da nun Michaja, der Sohn Gemarjas, des Sohns Saphans, alle Reden des HERRN gehöret hatte aus dem Buch,
12 Then he went down into the king's house, into the scribe's chamber: and lo, all the princes sat there, [even] Elishama the scribe, and Delaiah the son of Shemaiah, and Elnathan the son of Achbor, and Gemariah the son of Shaphan, and Zedekiah the son of Hananiah, and all the princes.
ging er hinab in des Königs Haus, in die Kanzlei. Und siehe, daselbst saßen alle Fürsten: Elisama, der Kanzler, Delaja, der Sohn Semajas, Elnathan, der Sohn Achbors, Gemarja, der Sohn Saphans, und Zedekia, der Sohn Hananjas, samt allen Fürsten.
13 Then Michaiah declared to them all the words that he had heard, when Baruch read the book in the ears of the people.
Und Michaja zeigte ihnen an alle Reden, die er gehöret hatte, da Baruch las aus dem Buch vor den Ohren des Volks.
14 Therefore all the princes sent Jehudi the son of Nethaniah, the son of Shelemiah, the son of Cushi, to Baruch, saying, Take in thy hand the roll in which thou hast read in the ears of the people, and come. So Baruch the son of Neriah took the roll in his hand, and came to them.
Da sandten alle Fürsten Judi, den Sohn Nethanjas, des Sohns Selemjas, des Sohns Chusis, nach Baruch und ließen ihm sagen: Nimm das Buch, daraus du vor dem Volk gelesen hast, mit dir und komm! Und Baruch, der Sohn Nerias, nahm das Buch mit sich und kam zu ihnen.
15 And they said to him, Sit down now, and read it in our ears. So Baruch read [it] in their ears.
Und sie sprachen zu ihm: Setze dich und lies, daß wir's hören! Und Baruch las ihnen vor ihren Ohren.
16 Now it came to pass when they had heard all the words, they were afraid both one and another, and said to Baruch, We will surely tell the king of all these words.
Und da sie alle die Reden höreten, entsetzten sie sich einer gegen den andern und sprachen zu Baruch: Wir wollen alle diese Reden dem Könige anzeigen.
17 And they asked Baruch, saying, Tell us now, How didst thou write all these words at his mouth?
Und fragten den Baruch: Sage uns, wie hast du alle diese Reden aus seinem Munde geschrieben?
18 Then Baruch answered them, He pronounced all these words to me with his mouth, and I wrote [them] with ink in the book.
Baruch sprach zu ihnen: Er las mir alle diese Reden aus seinem Munde, und ich schrieb sie mit Tinte ins Buch.
19 Then said the princes to Baruch, Go, hide thyself, thou and Jeremiah; and let no man know where ye are.
Da sprachen die Fürsten zu Baruch: Gehe hin und verbirg dich mit Jeremia, daß niemand wisse, wo ihr seid!
20 And they went in to the king into the court, but they laid up the roll in the chamber of Elishama the scribe, and told all the words in the ears of the king.
Sie aber gingen hinein zum Könige in den Vorhof und ließen das Buch behalten in der Kammer Elisamas, des Kanzlers, und sagten vor dem Könige an alle diese Reden.
21 So the king sent Jehudi to bring the roll: and he took it out of the chamber of Elishama, the scribe. And Jehudi read it in the ears of the king, and in the ears of all the princes who stood beside the king.
Da sandte der König den Judi, das Buch zu holen. Derselbige nahm es aus der Kammer Elisamas, des Kanzlers. Und Judi las vor dem Könige und allen Fürsten, die bei dem Könige stunden.
22 Now the king sat in the winter-house in the ninth month: and [there was a fire] on the hearth burning before him.
Der König aber saß im Winterhause, im neunten Monden, vor dem Kamin.
23 And it came to pass, [that] when Jehudi had read three or four leaves, he cut it with the scribe's pen-knife, and cast [it] into the fire that [was] on the hearth, until all the roll was consumed in the fire that [was] on the hearth.
Als aber Judi drei oder vier Blatt gelesen hatte, zerschnitt er's mit einem Schreibmesser und warf es ins Feuer, das im Kaminherde war, bis das Buch ganz verbrannte im Feuer.
24 Yet they were not afraid, nor rent their garments, [neither] the king, nor any of his servants that heard all these words.
Und niemand entsetzte sich noch zerriß seine Kleider, weder der König noch seine Knechte, so doch alle diese Reden gehöret hatten.
25 Nevertheless Elnathan and Delaiah and Gemariah had made intercession to the king that he would not burn the roll: but he would not hear them.
Wiewohl Elnathan, Delaja und Gemarja baten den König, er wollte das Buch nicht verbrennen; aber er gehorchte ihnen nicht.
26 But the king commanded Jerahmeel the son of Hammelech, and Seraiah the son of Azriel, and Shelemiah the son of Abdeel, to take Baruch the scribe and Jeremiah the prophet: but the LORD hid them.
Dazu gebot noch der König Jerahmeel, dem Sohn Hamelechs, und Seraja, dem Sohn Asriels, und Selemja, dem Sohn Abdeels, sie sollten Baruch, den Schreiber, und Jeremia, den Propheten, greifen. Aber der HERR hatte sie verborgen.
27 Then the word of the LORD came to Jeremiah, after that the king had burned the roll, and the words which Baruch wrote at the mouth of Jeremiah, saying,
Da geschah des HERRN Wort zu Jeremia, nachdem der König das Buch und die Reden, so Baruch hatte geschrieben aus dem Munde Jeremias, verbrannt hatte, und sprach:
28 Take thee again another roll, and write in it all the former words that were in the first roll, which Jehoiakim king of Judah hath burned.
Nimm dir wiederum ein ander Buch und schreibe alle vorigen Reden darein, die im ersten Buch stunden, welches Jojakim, der König Judas, verbrannt hat,
29 And thou shalt say to Jehoiakim king of Judah, Thus saith the LORD; Thou hast burned this roll, saying, Why hast thou written therein, saying, The king of Babylon shall certainly come and destroy this land, and shall cause to cease from thence man and beast?
und sage von Jojakim, dem Könige Judas: So spricht der HERR; Du hast dies Buch verbrannt und gesagt: Warum hast du darein geschrieben, daß der König von Babel werde kommen und dies Land verderben und machen, daß weder Leute noch Vieh drinnen mehr sein werden?
30 Therefore thus saith the LORD concerning Jehoiakim king of Judah; He shall have none to sit upon the throne of David: and his dead body shall be cast out in the day to the heat, and in the night to the frost.
Darum spricht der HERR von Jojakim, dem Könige Judas: Er soll keiner von den Seinen auf dem Stuhl Davids sitzen, und sein Leichnam soll hingeworfen des Tages in der Hitze und des Nachts in dem Frost liegen.
31 And I will punish him and his seed and his servants for their iniquity; and I will bring upon them, and upon the inhabitants of Jerusalem, and upon the men of Judah, all the evil that I have pronounced against them; but they hearkened not.
Und ich will ihn und seinen Samen und seine Knechte heimsuchen um ihrer Missetat willen. Und ich will über sie und über die Bürger zu Jerusalem und über die in Juda kommen lassen all das Unglück, das ich ihnen geredet habe, und sie doch nicht gehorchen.
32 Then Jeremiah took another roll, and gave it to Baruch the scribe, the son of Neriah; who wrote therein from the mouth of Jeremiah all the words of the book which Jehoiakim king of Judah had burned in the fire: and there were besides added to them many like words.
Da nahm Jeremia ein ander Buch und gab es Baruch, dem Sohn Nerias, dem Schreiber. Der schrieb darein aus dem Munde Jeremias alle die Reden, so in dem Buch stunden, das Jojakim, der König Judas, hatte mit Feuer verbrennen lassen; und über dieselbigen wurden der Reden noch viel mehr, denn jener waren.
