Ecclesiastes 10
1 Dead flies cause the ointment of the apothecary to send forth an offensive odor: [so doth] a little folly him that is in reputation for wisdom [and] honor.
ಸತ್ತ ನೊಣಗಳು ಸುಗಂಧ ತೈಲವನ್ನು ದುರ್ವಾಸನೆಗೆ ಒಳಪಡಿಸುತ್ತದೆ. ಹಾಗೆಯೇ ಸ್ವಲ್ಪ ಮೂಢತನವು ಜ್ಞಾನ ಮಾನಗಳನ್ನು ಕೆಡಿಸಿಬಿಡುತ್ತದೆ.
2 A wise man's heart [is] at his right hand; but a fool's heart [is] at his left.
ಜ್ಞಾನಿಯ ಹೃದಯವು ಬಲಗಡೆ ಸಾಗಿದರೆ, ಮೂರ್ಖನ ಹೃದಯವು ಎಡಗಡೆ ಸಾಗುವುದು.
3 Also, when he that is a fool walketh by the way, his wisdom faileth [him], and he saith to every one [that] he [is] a fool.
ಮೂರ್ಖನು ಮಾರ್ಗದಲ್ಲಿ ನಡೆಯುವಾಗಲೂ, ತಾನು ಅರಿವಿಲ್ಲದ ಮೂರ್ಖನೆಂದು ಪ್ರತಿಯೊಬ್ಬರಿಗೂ ಪ್ರಕಟಿಸುತ್ತಾನೆ.
4 If the spirit of the ruler riseth against thee, leave not thy place; for yielding pacifieth great offenses.
ಅಧಿಕಾರಿಯು ನಿನಗೆ ವಿರುದ್ಧವಾಗಿ ಸಿಟ್ಟುಗೊಂಡರೆ, ನಿನ್ನ ಉದ್ಯೋಗವನ್ನು ಬಿಟ್ಟುಬಿಡಬೇಡ. ಏಕೆಂದರೆ ತಾಳ್ಮೆಯು ದೊಡ್ಡ ಅಪರಾಧಗಳನ್ನು ಶಾಂತಪಡಿಸುತ್ತದೆ.
5 There is an evil [which] I have seen under the sun, as an error [which] proceedeth from the ruler:
ಮತ್ತೊಂದು ವ್ಯಸನವನ್ನು ನಾನು ಸೂರ್ಯನ ಕೆಳಗೆ ನೋಡಿದ್ದೇನೆ. ಅದು ಆಳುವವರಿಂದ ಬರುವ ತಪ್ಪಿನಿಂದಾದದ್ದು.
6 Folly is set in great dignity, and the rich sit in low place.
ಅದು ಯಾವುದೆಂದರೆ, ಮೂರ್ಖರನ್ನು ಉನ್ನತ ಪದವಿಗೆ ನೇಮಿಸುವುದು. ಘನವಂತರನ್ನು ಕೆಳಗಿನ ಸ್ಥಳದಲ್ಲಿ ಕೂತುಕೊಳ್ಳುವಂತೆ ಮಾಡುವುದು.
7 I have seen servants upon horses, and princes walking as servants upon the earth.
ಕುದುರೆಗಳ ಮೇಲೆ ಸವಾರಿ ಮಾಡುವ ಸೇವಕರನ್ನೂ ಅಧಿಕಾರಿಗಳು ಸೇವಕರ ಹಾಗೆ ನಡೆದುಕೊಂಡು ಹೋಗುವುದನ್ನೂ ನಾನು ನೋಡಿದ್ದೇನೆ.
8 He that diggeth a pit shall fall into it; and whoever breaketh a hedge, a serpent shall bite him.
ಗುಂಡಿಯನ್ನು ಅಗೆಯುವವನೇ ಅದರಲ್ಲಿ ಬೀಳುವನು. ಗೋಡೆಯನ್ನು ಒಡೆಯುವವನನ್ನು ಹಾವು ಕಡಿಯುವುದು.
9 Whoever removeth stones shall be hurt by them; [and] he that cleaveth wood shall be endangered by it.
ಗಣಿಯಿಂದ ಬಂಡೆಗಳನ್ನು ಸೀಳುವವನು ಗಾಯಗೊಳ್ಳುವನು. ಮರಕಡಿಯುವವನು ಅದರಿಂದಲೇ ಅಪಾಯಕ್ಕೊಳಗಾಗುವನು.
10 If the iron is blunt, and he doth not whet the edge, then must he use more strength: but wisdom [is] profitable to direct.
ಮೊಂಡುಕೊಡಲಿಯ ಬಾಯನ್ನು ಮೊನೆಮಾಡದಿದ್ದರೆ, ಹೆಚ್ಚು ಬಲವನ್ನು ಪ್ರಯೋಗಿಸಬೇಕಾಗುವುದು, ಆದರೆ ಜ್ಞಾನವೇ ಯಶಸ್ಸನ್ನು ತರುತ್ತದೆ.
11 Surely the serpent will bite without enchantment; and a babbler is no better.
ಹಾವಾಡಿಸುವುದರೊಳಗೆ ಹಾವು ಕಚ್ಚಿದರೆ, ಹಾವಾಡಿಗನಿಗೆ ಏನು ಪ್ರಯೋಜನ?
12 The words of a wise man's mouth [are] gracious; but the lips of a fool will swallow up himself.
ಜ್ಞಾನಿಯ ಮಾತುಗಳು ಹಿತಕರ. ಆದರೆ ಬುದ್ಧಿಹೀನನ ಮಾತುಗಳು ಅವನಿಗೆ ವಿನಾಶಕರ.
13 The beginning of the words of his mouth [is] foolishness: and the end of his talk [is] mischievous madness.
ಅವನ ಮಾತುಗಳು ಆರಂಭದಲ್ಲಿ ಮೂಢತನವಾಗಿರುವುದು. ಅವನ ಮಾತಿನ ಅಂತ್ಯವು ಹುಚ್ಚುತನವಾಗಿರುವುದು.
14 A fool also is full of words: a man cannot tell what shall be; and what shall be after him, who can tell him?
ಮೂಢನು ಮಾತುಗಳನ್ನು ಹೆಚ್ಚಿಸುತ್ತಾನೆ. ಆದರೂ ಅವನು ಭವಿಷ್ಯ ಏನೆಂದು ತಿಳಿಯನು. ಅವನ ತರುವಾಯ ಆಗುವುದನ್ನೂ ಅವನಿಗೆ ತಿಳಿಸುವವರು ಇಲ್ಲ.
15 The labor of the foolish wearieth every one of them, because he knoweth not how to go to the city.
ಮೂಢರ ಕಷ್ಟವು ಅವರನ್ನು ದಣಿಸುತ್ತದೆ. ನಗರಕ್ಕೆ ಹೇಗೆ ಹೋಗಬೇಕೆಂದು ಸಹ ಅವನಿಗೆ ತಿಳಿಯದು.
16 Woe to thee, O land, when thy king [is] a child, and thy princes eat in the morning!
ಬಾಲಕನಾಗಿದ್ದವನು ದೇಶಕ್ಕೆ ಅರಸನಾಗಿದ್ದರೆ, ನಾಯಕರೆಲ್ಲರು ಬೆಳಿಗ್ಗೆಯೇ ಔತಣಕ್ಕೆ ಕೂತುಕೊಂಡರೆ ಅಯ್ಯೋ ಕಷ್ಟ!
17 Blessed [art] thou, O land, when thy king [is] the son of nobles, and thy princes eat in due season, for strength, and not for drunkenness!
ಶ್ರೇಷ್ಠ ಹಿನ್ನೆಲೆಯವನು ದೇಶಕ್ಕೆ ಅರಸನಾದರೆ, ರಾಜಕುಮಾರರು ಕುಡುಕರಾಗುವುದಕ್ಕೆ ಬದಲು, ಸರಿಯಾದ ಸಮಯದಲ್ಲಿ ಶಕ್ತಿಗಾಗಿ ಊಟ ಮಾಡಿದರೆ ಅದು ದೇಶಕ್ಕೆ ಆಶೀರ್ವಾದ.
18 By much slothfulness the building decayeth; and through idleness of the hands the house droppeth through.
ಸೋಮಾರಿತನದಿಂದ ಮನೆ ಕುಸಿಯುತ್ತದೆ. ಜೋಲುಗೈಯಿಂದ ಮನೆ ಸೋರುತ್ತದೆ.
19 A feast is made for laughter, and wine maketh merry: but money answereth all [things].
ವಿನೋದಕ್ಕಾಗಿ ಔತಣ ಮಾಡುತ್ತಾರೆ, ಆನಂದಕ್ಕಾಗಿ ದ್ರಾಕ್ಷಾರಸ ಕುಡಿಯುತ್ತಾರೆ; ಎಲ್ಲವನ್ನೂ ಒದಗಿಸಿಕೊಡುವುದಕ್ಕಾಗಿ ಹಣವು.
20 Curse not the king, no not in thy thought; and curse not the rich in thy bed-chamber: for a bird of the air will carry the voice, and that which hath wings will tell the matter.
ನಿನ್ನ ಆಲೋಚನೆಯಲ್ಲಿಯೂ ಅರಸನನ್ನು ನಿಂದಿಸಬೇಡ. ನೀನು ಮಲಗುವ ಕೋಣೆಯಲ್ಲಿ ಐಶ್ವರ್ಯವಂತರನ್ನು ಶಪಿಸಬೇಡ. ಏಕೆಂದರೆ ಆಕಾಶದ ಪಕ್ಷಿಗಳು ನಿನ್ನ ಮಾತನ್ನು ತೆಗೆದುಕೊಂಡು ಹೋಗಬಹುದು. ಹಾರುವ ಪಕ್ಷಿ ನಿನ್ನ ಸುದ್ದಿಯನ್ನು ತಿಳಿಸಬಹುದು.
