< Deuteronomy 5 >

1 And Moses called all Israel, and said to them, Hear, O Israel, the statutes and judgments which I speak in your ears this day, that ye may learn them, and keep, and do them.
Mosis kpọkọtara Izrel niile gwa ha okwu sị, Geenụ ntị, unu Izrel, nʼụkpụrụ ndị a na iwu ndị a niile m na-agụpụta na ntị unu taa, mụtanụ ha, hụkwanụ na unu debere ha!
2 The LORD our God made a covenant with us in Horeb.
Anyị na Onyenwe anyị Chineke anyị gbara ndụ nʼugwu Horeb.
3 The LORD made not this covenant with our fathers, but with us, [even] us, who [are] all of us here alive this day.
Ọ bụghị Onyenwe anyị na nna nna anyị ha gbara ndụ, kama ọ bụ anyị na ya, anyị niile ndị dị ndụ taa.
4 The LORD talked with you face to face on the mount, from the midst of the fire,
Onyenwe anyị sitere nʼetiti ọkụ gwa unu okwu ihu na ihu nʼugwu ahụ.
5 (I stood between the LORD and you at that time, to show you the word of the LORD: for ye were afraid by reason of the fire, and went not up upon the mount; ) saying,
E guzoro m nʼetiti unu na Onyenwe anyị mgbe ahụ, ikwupụtara unu okwu Onyenwe anyị, nʼihi na unu tụrụ egwu ọkụ ahụ, unu arịgoghịkwa nʼugwu ahụ. Ọ sịrị:
6 I [am] the LORD thy God, who brought thee out of the land of Egypt, from the house of bondage.
“Mụ onwe m bụ Onyenwe anyị Chineke unu, onye kpọpụtara unu site nʼIjipt, bụ ala nke ịbụ ohu.
7 Thou shalt have no other gods before me.
“Gị enwela chi ọzọ tinyere m.
8 Thou shalt not make for thee [any] graven image, [or] any likeness [of any thing] that [is] in heaven above, or that [is] on the earth beneath, or that [is] in the waters beneath the earth:
Gị emerela onwe gị arụsị a pịrị apị, nʼoyiyi nke ụdị ọbụla nke yiri ihe dị nʼeluigwe maọbụ nke yiri ihe dị nʼụwa, nʼokpuru ya maọbụ nʼime mmiri, nʼokpuru ụwa.
9 Thou shalt not bow down thyself to them, nor serve them: for I the LORD thy God [am] a jealous God, visiting the iniquity of the fathers upon the children to the third and fourth [generation] of them that hate me,
Gị akpọla isiala nye ha, efekwala ha ofufe, nʼihi na Mụ onwe m bụ Onyenwe anyị Chineke gị, abụ m Chineke ekworo. Onye na-ata ụmụ na ụmụ ụmụ ahụhụ, nʼihi ajọ omume nke ndị mụrụ ha, ọ bụladị ruo nʼọgbọ nke atọ na nke anọ, nke ndị ahụ kpọrọ m asị.
10 And showing mercy to thousands of them that love me, and keep my commandments.
Ma na-egosi ịhụnanya nye puku ọgbọ niile nke ndị hụrụ m nʼanya, bụ ndị na-edebe ihe niile m nyere nʼiwu.
11 Thou shalt not take the name of the LORD thy God in vain: for the LORD will not hold [him] guiltless that taketh his name in vain.
Gị ejikwala aha Onyenwe anyị bụ Chineke gị eme ihe efu, nʼihi na Onyenwe anyị agaghị agụ onye ji aha ya eme ihe efu dịka onye ikpe na-amaghị.
12 Keep the sabbath-day to sanctify it, as the LORD thy God hath commanded thee.
Debe ụbọchị izuike site nʼido ya nsọ, dịka Onyenwe anyị Chineke gị nyere gị nʼiwu.
13 Six days thou shalt labor, and do all thy work:
Nʼime ụbọchị isii ka ị ga-eje ozi gị niile. Ọ bụkwa nʼime ha ka ị ga-arụzu ọrụ gị niile,
14 But the seventh day [is] the sabbath of the LORD thy God: [in it] thou shalt not do any work, thou, nor thy son, nor thy daughter, nor thy man-servant, nor thy maid-servant, nor thy ox, nor thy ass, nor any of thy cattle, nor thy stranger that [is] within thy gates; that thy man-servant and thy maid-servant may rest as well as thou.
ma ụbọchị nke asaa bụ ụbọchị izuike nke Onyenwe anyị Chineke gị. Ị gaghị arụ ọrụ ọbụla nʼụbọchị ahụ, gị onwe gị, nwa gị nwoke na nwa gị nwanyị, onye ọrụ gị nwoke, onye ọrụ gị nwanyị, ehi gị, ịnyịnya ibu gị maọbụ anụ ụlọ gị ọbụla, ọ bụladị onye ọbịa bi nʼobodo gị, ka ohu gị nwoke na ohu gị nwanyị zuru ike dịka gị onwe gị si ezu ike.
15 And remember that thou wast a servant in the land of Egypt, and [that] the LORD thy God brought thee out thence with a mighty hand and by an out-stretched arm: therefore the LORD thy God commanded thee to keep the sabbath-day.
Ị ga-echetakwa na ị bụ ohu nʼala Ijipt, ma Onyenwe anyị Chineke mere ka i si nʼohu pụta. Ọ bụ ike ya dị ukwuu ka o ji napụta gị. Ọ bụ ya mere Onyenwe anyị Chineke gị ji nye iwu na ị ga-edebe ụbọchị izuike nsọ.
16 Honor thy father and thy mother, as the LORD thy God hath commanded thee; that thy days may be prolonged, and that it may be well with thee, in the land which the LORD thy God giveth thee.
Sọpụrụ nne gị na nna gị, dịka Onyenwe anyị Chineke gị nyere gị nʼiwu, ka ụbọchị ndụ gị dị ogologo, ka ihe dịkwara gị mma nʼala ahụ nke Onyenwe anyị Chineke gị na-enye gị.
17 Thou shalt not kill.
Gị egbula mmadụ.
18 Neither shalt thou commit adultery.
Gị akwala iko.
19 Neither shalt thou steal.
Gị ezula ohi.
20 Neither shalt thou bear false witness against thy neighbor.
Gị agbala ama ụgha megide onye agbataobi gị.
21 Neither shalt thou desire thy neighbor's wife, neither shalt thou covet thy neighbor's house, his field, or his man-servant, or his maid-servant, his ox, or his ass, or any [thing] that [is] thy neighbor's.
Gị enwela anya ukwu nʼebe nwunye onye agbataobi gị dị. Gị enwekwala agụụ inwetara onwe gị ụlọ onye agbataobi gị, maọbụ nʼebe ala ya, maọbụ ohu ya nwoke, maọbụ ohu ya nwanyị, maọbụ ehi ya, maọbụ ịnyịnya ibu ya, ma ọ bụkwanụ nʼihe ọbụla nke onye agbataobi nwere dị.”
22 These words the LORD spoke to all your assembly on the mount from the midst of the fire, of the cloud, and of the thick darkness, with a great voice: and he added no more. And he wrote them in two tables of stone, and delivered them to me.
Iwu ndị a ka Onyenwe anyị sitere nʼolu ike kwupụta nye ọgbakọ unu niile nʼelu ugwu ahụ, site nʼọkụ ahụ na igwe ojii ahụ na oke ọchịchịrị ahụ. O nweghị okwu ọzọ o tụkwasịrị nʼelu ya. O mechara dee ha na mbadamba nkume abụọ, nye m ha.
23 And it came to pass, when ye heard the voice from the midst of the darkness, (for the mountain did burn with fire, ) that ye came near to me, [even] all the heads of your tribes, and your elders;
Ma mgbe unu nụrụ oke olu ahụ kwuru okwu site nʼoke ọchịchịrị ahụ, hụkwa ire ọkụ ahụ dị egwu na-enwu nʼelu ugwu, ndịisi unu, ndị ndu ebo ọbụla na ndị okenye unu bịakwutere m.
24 And ye said, Behold, the LORD our God hath shown us his glory and his greatness, and we have heard his voice from the midst of the fire: we have seen this day that God doth talk with man, and he liveth.
Unu sịrị, “Onyenwe anyị bụ Chineke anyị egosila anyị ebube ya, na ịdị ukwu ya, anyị anụkwala olu ya site nʼime ọkụ ahụ. Taa anyị ahụla na mmadụ pụrụ ịdị ndụ ọbụladị ma Chineke kpanyere ha ụka.
25 Now therefore why should we die? for this great fire will consume us: if we hear the voice of the LORD our God any more, then we shall die.
Ma ugbu a nʼihi gịnị ka anyị ga-eji nwụọ? Ọkụ a, nke na-enwusi ike ga-erechapụ anyị. Anyị ga-anwụ ma ọ bụrụ na anyị anụ olu Onyenwe anyị Chineke anyị gaa nʼihu.
26 For who [is there of] all flesh that hath heard the voice of the living God speaking out of the midst of the fire, as we [have], and lived?
Nʼihi na onye dị nʼetiti mmadụ, nke nụrụ olu Chineke dị ndụ ka ọ na-ekwu okwu site nʼetiti ọkụ, dịka anyị nụrụ ma dịrị ndụ.
27 Go thou near, and hear all that the LORD our God shall say; and speak thou to us all that the LORD our God shall speak to thee; and we will hear [it], and do [it].
Gaa nso nụtara anyị ihe Onyenwe anyị Chineke anyị na-ekwu, mgbe ahụ, gwa anyị ihe ọbụla bụ nke ọ gwara gị, anyị ga-anụ, mekwa ya.”
28 And the LORD heard the voice of your words, when ye spoke to me; and the LORD said to me, I have heard the voice of the words of this people, which they have spoke to thee: they have well said all that they have spoken.
Onyenwe anyị nụrụ olu okwu mgbe unu gwara m okwu, Onyenwe anyị sịrị m, “Anụla m ihe ndị a gwara gị. Ihe niile ha kwuru ziri ezi.
29 O that there were such a heart in them, that they would fear me, and keep all my commandments always, that it might be well with them, and with their children for ever!
Lee, ọ ga-adị nnọọ mma ma mkpụrụobi ha dị otu a, ịtụ egwu m, na idebe ihe niile m nyere ha nʼiwu, ka ihe gaara ha na ụmụ ha nke ọma mgbe niile ebighị ebi.
30 Go, say to them, Return to your tents again.
“Gaa, gwa ha ka ha laghachi nʼụlọ ikwu ha.
31 But as for thee, stand thou here by me, and I will speak to thee all the commandments, and the statutes, and the judgments, which thou shalt teach them, that they may do [them] in the land which I give them to possess it.
Ma gị onwe gị, guzo nʼebe a nʼakụkụ m, ka m nye gị iwu m na ụkpụrụ m niile, ị ga-akụziri ha idebe iwu m, ha aghakwaghị idebe ha nʼala ahụ m gaje inye ha ka ha nweta.”
32 Ye shall observe to do therefore as the LORD your God hath commanded you: ye shall not turn aside to the right hand or to the left.
Lezienụ anya ime ihe ndị ahụ niile Onyenwe anyị bụ Chineke unu nyere unu nʼiwu. Unu esitela na ha wezuga onwe unu gaa nʼaka nri maọbụ nʼaka ekpe.
33 Ye shall walk in all the ways which the LORD your God hath commanded you, that ye may live, and [that it may be] well with you, and [that] ye may prolong [your] days in the land which ye shall possess.
Jegharịanụ ije nʼụzọ niile Onyenwe anyị Chineke unu nyere unu nʼiwu, ka unu dịrị ndụ, baa ụba, ma meekwa ka ndụ unu dị ogologo nʼala ahụ unu na-aga inweta.
