< Job 42 >
1 Then Job answered Yahweh and said,
Ningĩ Ayubu agĩcookeria Jehova, akĩmwĩra atĩrĩ:
2 “I know that you can do all things, that no purpose of yours can be stopped.
“Nĩnjũũĩ atĩ wahota gwĩka maũndũ mothe; gũtirĩ mũbango waku ũngĩgirĩrĩka.
3 'Who is this who without knowledge conceals plans?' Indeed, I have spoken things that I did not understand, things too difficult for me to understand, which I did not know about.
Nĩworirie atĩrĩ, ‘Nũũ ũyũ ũrahithania kĩrĩra gĩakwa nĩ kwaga ũmenyo?’ Ti-itherũ ndaaririe maũndũ itaamenyete, maũndũ ma magegania itangĩmenya.
4 You said to me, 'Listen, now, and I will speak; I will ask you things, and you will tell me.'
“Woigire atĩrĩ, ‘Thikĩrĩria rĩu, na niĩ njarie; nĩngũkũũria ciũria, nawe nĩũkũnjookeria.’
5 I had heard about you by my ear's hearing, but now my eye sees you.
Matũ makwa nĩmaiguĩte ũhoro waku no rĩu maitho makwa nĩgũkuona makuonete.
6 So I despise myself; I repent in dust and ashes.”
Nĩ ũndũ ũcio nĩngwĩmena niĩ mwene, na ndĩrire, ndĩhurĩrie rũkũngũ na mũhu.”
7 It came about that after he had said these words to Job, Yahweh said to Eliphaz the Temanite, “My wrath is kindled against you and against your two friends, for you have not spoken of me what is right, as my servant Job has done.
Thuutha wa Jehova kwĩra Ayubu maũndũ macio-rĩ, nĩerire Elifazu ũrĩa Mũtemaani atĩrĩ, “Nĩndakarĩtio nĩwe na arata aku eerĩ, tondũ mũtiarĩtie ũhoro wakwa ũrĩa wagĩrĩire, ta ũrĩa ndungata yakwa Ayubu ĩĩkĩte.
8 Now therefore, take for yourselves seven bulls and seven rams, go to my servant Job, and offer up for yourselves a burnt offering. My servant Job will pray for you, and I will accept his prayer, so that I may not deal with you after your folly. You have not said what is right about me, as my servant Job has done.”
Nĩ ũndũ ũcio, rĩu oyai ndegwa mũgwanja na ndũrũme mũgwanja, mũthiĩ kũrĩ ndungata yakwa Ayubu, mũkarute igongona rĩa njino nĩ ũndũ wanyu inyuĩ ene. Ndungata yakwa Ayubu nĩĩkamũhoera, na niĩ nĩngetĩkĩra mahooya make, na ndikamwĩka kũringana na ũrimũ wanyu. Mũtiarĩtie ũhoro wakwa ũrĩa wagĩrĩire ta ũrĩa ndungata yakwa Ayubu ĩĩkĩte.”
9 So Eliphaz the Temanite, Bildad the Shuhite, and Zophar the Naamathite went and did as Yahweh had commanded them, and Yahweh accepted Job.
Nĩ ũndũ ũcio Elifazu ũrĩa Mũtemaani, na Bilidadi ũrĩa Mũshuhi, na Zofaru ũrĩa Mũnaamathi magĩĩka o ta ũrĩa Jehova aameerire; nake Jehova nĩetĩkĩrire ihooya rĩa Ayubu.
10 When Job prayed for his friends, Yahweh restored his fortunes. Yahweh gave him twice as much as he had possessed before.
Thuutha wa Ayubu kũhoera arata ake-rĩ, Jehova nĩamũcookeirie ũtonga wake na akĩmũhe maita meerĩ ma indo iria aarĩ nacio mbere.
11 Then all Job's brothers, and all his sisters, and all who knew him before, came to him and ate food with him in his house. They showed him sympathy and comforted him for all the disasters that Yahweh had brought upon him, and each of them gave Job a piece of silver and a ring of gold.
Ariũ na aarĩ a nyina othe, na mũndũ o wothe wamũũĩ mbere, magĩũka makĩrĩĩanĩra nake mũciĩ gwake, nao makĩmũhooreria na makĩmũcakaithia nĩ ũndũ wa mathĩĩna marĩa mothe Jehova aamũreheire. Andũ acio o mũndũ akĩmũhe gĩcunjĩ kĩa betha na gĩcũhĩ gĩa thahabu.
12 Yahweh blessed the final end of Job's life more than the first; he had fourteen thousand sheep, six thousand camels, one thousand yoke of oxen, and one thousand female donkeys.
Jehova nĩarathimire matukũ ma mũthia ma muoyo wa Ayubu gũkĩra marĩa ma mbere. Nĩaagĩire na ngʼondu 14,000, na ngamĩĩra 6,000, na ndegwa cia kuohwo macooki 1,000, na ndigiri 1,000.
13 He also had seven sons and three daughters.
Nĩacookire akĩgĩa na aanake mũgwanja na airĩtu atatũ.
14 He named the first daughter Jemimah, the second Keziah, and the third Keren-Happuch.
Mwarĩ wa mbere aamũtuire Jemima, na wa keerĩ aamũtuire Kezia, nake wa gatatũ akĩmũtua Kereni-Hapuku.
15 In all the land no women were found as beautiful as Job's daughters. Their father gave them an inheritance along with their brothers.
Gũtirĩ handũ o na ha bũrũri-inĩ wothe hangĩonekire andũ-a-nja athaka ta airĩtu a Ayubu, nake ithe wao akĩmahe igai hamwe na ariũ a nyina.
16 After this, Job lived 140 years; he saw his sons and his sons' sons, up to four generations.
Thuutha wa maũndũ macio-rĩ, Ayubu nĩatũũrire mĩaka igana rĩa mĩrongo ĩna; akĩona ciana ciake na akĩona ciana ciacio, nginya rũciaro rwa kana.
17 Then Job died, being old and full of days.
Nake agĩkua arĩ mũkũrũ, na arĩ na mĩaka mĩingĩ.
