Ecclesiastes 5
1 Guard your steps when you go to the house of God. Go near to listen rather than to offer the sacrifice of fools, who do not understand that they are doing what is wrong.
௧நீ தேவாலயத்திற்குப் போகும்போது உன்னுடைய நடையைக் காத்துக்கொள்; மூடர் பலியிடுவதுபோலப் பலியிடுவதைவிட கேட்டறிவதே நலம். தாங்கள் செய்கிறது தீமையென்று அறியாமல் இருக்கிறார்கள்.
2 Do not be too quick to speak with your mouth, and do not let your heart be too quick to bring any matter up before God. God is in heaven, but you are on earth, so let your words be few.
௨தேவ சமுகத்தில் நீ துணிகரமாக உன்னுடைய வாயினால் பேசாமலும், மனம்பதறி ஒரு வார்த்தையையும் சொல்லாமலும் இரு; தேவன் வானத்தில் இருக்கிறார்; நீ பூமியில் இருக்கிறாய், ஆதலால் உன்னுடைய வார்த்தைகள் சுருக்கமாக இருப்பதாக.
3 If you have too many things to do and worry about, you will probably have bad dreams. The more words you speak, the more foolish things you will probably say.
௩தொல்லையின் மிகுதியினால் சொப்பனம் பிறக்கிறதுபோல, வார்த்தைகளின் மிகுதியினால் மூடனுடைய சத்தம் பிறக்கும்.
4 When you make a vow to God, do not delay to do it, for God has no pleasure in fools. Do what you vow you will do.
௪நீ தேவனுக்கு ஒரு பொருத்தனை செய்துகொண்டால், அதைச் செலுத்தத் தாமதிக்காதே; அவர் மூடரில் பிரியப்படுகிறதில்லை; நீ நேர்ந்துகொண்டதைச் செய்.
5 It is better not to make a vow than to make one that you do not carry out.
௫நீ நேர்ந்துகொண்டதைச் செய்யாமற்போவதைவிட, நேர்ந்துகொள்ளாமல் இருப்பதே நலம்.
6 Do not allow your mouth to cause your flesh to sin. Do not say to the priest's messenger, “That vow was a mistake.” Why make God angry by vowing falsely, provoking God to destroy the work of your hands?
௬உன்னுடைய சரீரத்தைப் பாவத்திற்குள்ளாக்க உன்னுடைய வாய்க்கு இடம்கொடுக்காதே; அது புத்திமாறி செய்தது என்று தூதனுக்குமுன்பு சொல்லாதே; தேவன் உன்னுடைய வார்த்தைகளினாலே கோபம் கொண்டு, உன்னுடைய கைகளின் செயல்களை ஏன் அழித்துக்கொள்ளவேண்டும்?
7 For in many dreams, as in many words, there is meaningless vapor. So fear God.
௭அநேக சொப்பனங்கள் மாயையாக இருப்பதுபோல அநேக வார்த்தைகளும் மாயையாக இருக்கும்; ஆகையால் நீ தேவனுக்குப் பயந்திரு.
8 When you see the poor being oppressed and robbed of just and right treatment in your province, do not be astonished as if no one knows, because there are people in power who watch those under them, and there are even higher ones over them.
௮ஒரு தேசத்தில் ஏழைகள் ஒடுக்கப்படுகிறதையும், நியாயமும் நீதியும் புரட்டப்படுகிறதையும் நீ கண்டால், அதைக்குறித்து ஆச்சரியப்படாதே; உயர்ந்தவன்மேல் உயர்ந்தவன் காவலாளியாக இருக்கிறான்; அவர்கள்மேல் உயர்ந்தவரும் ஒருவருண்டு.
9 In addition, the produce of the land is for everyone, and the king himself takes produce from the fields.
௯பூமியில் விளையும் பலன் எல்லோருக்கும் உரியது; ராஜாவும் வயலின் பலனால் ஆதரிக்கப்படுகிறான்.
10 Anyone who loves silver will not be satisfied with silver, and anyone who loves wealth always wants more. This, too, is vapor.
௧0பணப்பிரியன் பணத்தினால் திருப்தியடைவதில்லை; செல்வப்பிரியன் செல்வப்பெருக்கினால் திருப்தியடைவதில்லை; இதுவும் மாயையே.
11 As prosperity increases, so also do the people who consume it. What advantage in wealth is there to the owner except to watch it with his eyes?
௧௧பொருள் பெருகினால் அதை சாப்பிடுகிறவர்களும் பெருகுகிறார்கள்; அதை உடையவர்கள் தங்களுடைய கண்களினால் அதைக் காண்பதைத் தவிர அவர்களுக்கு பலன் என்ன?
12 The sleep of a working man is sweet, whether he eats little or a lot, but the wealth of a rich person does not allow him to sleep well.
௧௨வேலைசெய்கிறவன் கொஞ்சமாக சாப்பிட்டாலும், அதிகமாக சாப்பிட்டாலும் அவனுடைய தூக்கம் இன்பமாக இருக்கும்; செல்வந்தனுடைய பெருக்கோ அவனைத் தூங்கவிடாது.
13 There is an evil that I have seen under the sun: riches hoarded by the owner, resulting in his own misery.
௧௩சூரியனுக்குக் கீழே நான் கண்ட வேறொரு கொடிய தீங்குமுண்டு; அதாவது, ஐசுவரியமானது அதை உடையவர்களுக்கே கேடு உண்டாகும்படி சேகரித்து வைக்கப்படுவதாம்.
14 When the rich man loses his wealth through bad luck, his own son, one whom he has fathered, is left with nothing in his hands.
௧௪அந்த ஐசுவரியம் துரதிர்ஷ்டத்தினால் அழிந்துபோகிறது; அவன் ஒரு மகனைப் பெறுகிறான்; அவனுடைய கையில் ஒன்றும் இல்லை.
15 As a man comes from his mother's womb, so also he will leave naked. He can take none of the fruits of his labor in his hand.
௧௫தன்னுடைய தாயின் கர்ப்பத்திலிருந்து நிர்வாணியாக வந்தான்; வந்ததுபோலவே நிர்வாணியாகத் திரும்பப் போவான்; அவன் தன்னுடைய பிரயாசத்தினால் உண்டான பலனொன்றையும் தன்னுடைய கையிலே எடுத்துக் கொண்டுபோவதில்லை.
16 Another evil is that as a person comes, so he goes away. So what profit is there for him who works for the wind?
௧௬அவன் வந்தபடியே போகிறான், இதுவும் கொடுமையான தீங்கு; அவன் காற்றுக்காக உழைத்ததால் அவனுக்கு லாபம் என்ன?
17 During his days he eats with darkness and is greatly distressed with sickness and anger.
௧௭அவன் தன்னுடைய நாட்களிலெல்லாம் இருளிலே சாப்பிட்டு, மிகவும் சலித்து, நோயும் துன்பமும் அடைகிறான்.
18 Look, what I have seen to be good and suitable is to eat and drink and to enjoy the gain from all our work, as we labor under the sun during the days of this life that God has given us. For this is man's assignment.
௧௮இதோ, உயிரோடிருக்கும்படி தேவன் அருளிச்செய்த நாட்களெல்லாம் மனிதன் சாப்பிட்டுக் குடித்து, சூரியனுக்குக் கீழே தான் உழைத்த அனைத்தின் பலனையும் அனுபவிப்பதே நலமும் உத்தமுமான காரியமென்று நான் கண்டேன், இதுவே அவன் பங்கு.
19 Anyone to whom God has given riches and wealth and the ability to receive his share and rejoice in his work—this is a gift from God.
௧௯தேவன் ஐசுவரியத்தையும் செல்வத்தையும் எவனுக்குக் கொடுத்திருக்கிறாரோ, அவன் அதிலே சாப்பிடவும், தன்னுடைய பங்கைப் பெறவும், தன்னுடைய பிரயாசத்திலே மகிழ்ச்சியாக இருக்கவும் அவனுக்கு அதிகாரம் அளிப்பது தேவனுடைய வெகுமதி.
20 For he does not call to mind very often the days of his life, because God makes him keep busy with the things that he enjoys doing.
௨0அவனுடைய இருதயத்திலே மகிழும்படி தேவன் அவனுக்கு தயவு செய்கிறபடியினால், அவன் தன்னுடைய உயிருள்ள நாட்களை அதிகமாக நினைக்கமாட்டான்.
