2 Chronicles 13
1 In the eighteenth year of King Jeroboam, Abijah began to reign over Judah.

2 He ruled for three years in Jerusalem; his mother's name was Macaiah, the daughter of Uriel of Gibeah. There was war between Abijah and Jeroboam.

3 Abijah went into battle with an army of strong, courageous soldiers, 400,000 chosen men. Jeroboam placed battle lines against him with 800,000 chosen men, strong, courageous soldiers.

4 Abijah stood on Mount Zemaraim, which is in the hill country of Ephraim, and said, “Listen to me, Jeroboam and all Israel!
Abijah dúró lórí òkè Semaraimu ní òkè orílẹ̀-èdè Efraimu, ó sì wí pé, Jeroboamu àti gbogbo Israẹli, ẹ gbọ́ mi!
5 Do you not know that Yahweh, the God of Israel, gave the rule over Israel to David forever, to him and to his sons by a formal covenant?
Ṣé ẹ̀yin kò mọ̀ pé Olúwa Ọlọ́run Israẹli ti fún Dafidi àti àwọn àtẹ̀lé rẹ̀ ni oyè ọba títí láé nípasẹ̀ májẹ̀mú iyọ̀?
6 Yet Jeroboam son of Nebat, the servant of Solomon son of David, rose up and rebelled against his master.
Síbẹ̀ Jeroboamu ọmọ Nebati, oníṣẹ́ Solomoni ọmọ Dafidi, ṣọ̀tẹ̀ sí ọ̀gá rẹ̀.
7 Worthless men, base fellows, gathered to him. They came against Rehoboam son of Solomon, when Rehoboam was young and inexperienced and could not withstand them.
Àwọn ènìyàn lásán sì kó ara wọn jọ sí ọ̀dọ̀ rẹ̀, àwọn ọmọ ẹni búburú, wọ́n sì kẹ̀yìn sí Rehoboamu ọmọ Solomoni ní ìgbà tí ó sì kéré tí kò lè pinnu fúnra rẹ̀, tí kò lágbára tó láti takò wọ́n.
8 So now you plan to resist the kingdom of Yahweh that is held within the hand of the descendants of David, because you are a large army, and you have the golden calves that Jeroboam made to be your gods.
“Nísinsin yìí, ìwọ ṣètò láti kọ́ ìjọba Olúwa, tí ó wà lọ́wọ́ àwọn àtẹ̀lé Dafidi. Ìwọ jẹ́ ọmọ-ogun tí ó gbilẹ̀, ìwọ sì ní pẹ̀lú rẹ ẹgbọrọ màlúù wúrà ti Jeroboamu dà láti fi ṣe Ọlọ́run yín.
9 But did you not drive out the priests of Yahweh, the descendants of Aaron, and the Levites, and make priests of your own in the same way as the people of other lands do? Whoever comes to serve as a priest, sacrificing a young bullock and seven rams, he becomes a priest of what are not gods.
Ṣùgbọ́n ṣé ìwọ kò lé àwọn àlùfáà Olúwa jáde, àwọn ọmọ Aaroni àti àwọn ará Lefi. Tí ó sì ṣe àwọn àlùfáà ti ara rẹ̀ gẹ́gẹ́ bí àwọn ènìyàn ilẹ̀ mìíràn ti ṣe? Ẹnikẹ́ni tí ó bá wá láti ya ara rẹ̀ sọ́tọ̀ pẹ̀lú ọ̀dọ́ akọ màlúù àti àgbò méjì lè jẹ́ àlùfáà ohun tí kì í ṣe Ọlọ́run.
10 But as for us, Yahweh is our God, and we have not forsaken him. We have priests, descendants of Aaron, serving Yahweh, and the Levites, who are at their work.
“Ní ti àwa, Olúwa ni Ọlọ́run wa, àwa kò sì ti ì kọ̀ ọ́ sílẹ̀. Àwọn àlùfáà tí ó ń sin Olúwa jẹ́ àwọn ọmọ Aaroni àwọn ará Lefi sì ń ràn wọ́n lọ́wọ́.
11 Every morning and evening they burn for Yahweh burnt offerings and sweet incense. They also arrange the bread of the presence on the pure table; they also tend the lampstand of gold with its lamps, for them to burn every evening. We keep the commandments of Yahweh, our God, but you have forsaken him.
Ní àràárọ̀ àti ìrọ̀lẹ́, wọ́n gbé ẹbọ sísun àti tùràrí olóòórùn dídùn síwájú Olúwa. Wọ́n gbé àkàrà jáde sórí tábìlì àsè mímọ́, wọ́n sì tan iná sí àwọn fìtílà lórí ìdúró ọ̀pá fìtílà wúrà ní gbogbo ìrọ̀lẹ́. A ń pa àṣẹ Olúwa Ọlọ́run wa mọ́. Ṣùgbọ́n ìwọ ti kọ̀ ọ́ sílẹ̀.
12 See, God is with us at our head, and his priests are here with the trumpets to sound an alarm against you. People of Israel, do not fight against Yahweh, the God of your ancestors, for you will not succeed.”
Ọlọ́run wà pẹ̀lú wa; òun ni olórí wa. Àwọn àlùfáà rẹ̀ pẹ̀lú fèrè wọn yóò fọn ìpè ogun sí i yín. Ẹyin ọkùnrin Israẹli, ẹ má ṣe dojú ìjà kọ Olúwa Ọlọ́run baba yín nítorí ẹ̀yin kì yóò yege.”
13 But Jeroboam prepared an ambush behind them; his army was in front of Judah, and the ambush was behind them.

14 When Judah looked back, behold, the fighting was both in front of them and behind them. They cried out to Yahweh, and the priests blew the trumpets.
Nígbà tí Juda sì bojú wo ẹ̀yìn, sì kíyèsi i, ogun ń bẹ níwájú àti lẹ́yìn, wọn sì ké pe Olúwa, àwọn àlùfáà sì fun ìpè.
15 Then the men of Judah gave a shout; as they shouted, it came about that God struck Jeroboam and all Israel before Abijah and Judah.

16 The people of Israel fled before Judah, and God gave them into the hand of Judah.

17 Abijah and his army killed them with great slaughter; 500,000 chosen men of Israel fell dead.
Abijah àti àwọn arákùnrin rẹ̀ fi ìdààmú ńlá jẹ wọ́n ní ìyà, bẹ́ẹ̀ ni ọ̀kẹ́ mẹ́ẹ̀ẹ́dọ́gbọ̀n ọkùnrin tí a yàn ṣubú ní pípa nínú Israẹli.
18 In this way, the people of Israel were subdued at that time; the people of Judah won because they relied on Yahweh, the God of their ancestors.

19 Abijah pursued Jeroboam; he took cities from him: Bethel with its villages, Jeshanah with its villages, and Ephron with its villages.
Abijah sì lépa Jeroboamu, ó sì gba ìlú lọ́wọ́ rẹ̀, Beteli pẹ̀lú àwọn ìlú rẹ̀, àti Jeṣana pẹ̀lú àwọn ìlú rẹ̀, àti Efroni pẹ̀lú àwọn ìlú rẹ̀.
20 Jeroboam never recovered power again during the days of Abijah; Yahweh struck him, and he died.
Bẹ́ẹ̀ ní Jeroboamu kò sì tún ní agbára mọ́ ní ọjọ́ Abijah. Olúwa sì lù ú ó sì kú.
21 But Abijah became powerful; he took fourteen wives for himself and became the father of twenty-two sons and sixteen daughters.
Abijah sì di alágbára, ó sì gbé obìnrin mẹ́tàlá ní ìyàwó, ó sì bi ọmọkùnrin méjìlélógún, àti ọmọbìnrin mẹ́rìndínlógún.
22 The rest of Abijah's deeds, his behavior, and words are written in the history of the prophet Iddo.
Àti ìyókù ìṣe Abijah, àti ìwà rẹ̀, àti iṣẹ́ rẹ̀, a kọ wọ́n sínú ìwé ìtumọ̀, wòlíì Iddo.
