< Psalms 75 >
1 We give thanks to you; our God, we thank you. You are close to us, and we proclaim to others the wonderful things that you have done [for us].
Ki he Takimuʻa, ʻAli-Tasikiti, ko e Saame pe ko e Hiva ʻa ʻAsafi. ʻOku mau ʻatu ʻae fakafetaʻi kiate koe, ʻE ʻOtua, ʻoku mau ʻatu ʻae fakafetaʻi kiate koe: he ʻoku fakahā ʻe hoʻo ngaahi ngāue lahi ʻoku ofi ho huafa.
2 [You have said], “I have appointed a time when I will judge people, and I will judge [everyone] fairly.
“ʻO kau ka maʻu ʻae fakataha te u fakamaau māʻoniʻoni.
3 When the earth shakes and all the creatures on the earth tremble, I am the one who will (keep its foundations steady/prevent it from being destroyed).
Kuo movetevete ʻae fonua mo hono kakai: ʻoku ou poupou hake hono ngaahi pou. (Sila)
4 I say to people who (boast/talk proudly about themselves), ‘Stop bragging!’ and I say to wicked people, ‘Do not proudly [do things to] show how great you are [IDM]!
Naʻaku pehē ki he kau vale, ʻoua naʻa mou fai fakavalevale: pea ki he kau angakovi, ʻoua te mou hiki hake ʻae nifo.
5 Do not be arrogant, and do not speak so boastfully!’”
ʻOua naʻa hiki ki ʻolunga homou nifo: ʻoua te mou lea ʻi he kia kekeva.”
6 The one who judges people does not come from the east or from the west, and he does not come from the desert.
He ʻoku ʻikai haʻu mei he potu hahake, pe mei he potu lulunga, pe mei he potu tonga ʻae hakeakiʻi.
7 God is the one who judges people; he says that some have sinned and must be punished, and that others have not done what is wrong.
He ko e fakamaau ʻae ʻOtua: ʻoku ʻohifo ʻe ia ʻae tokotaha, kae fokotuʻu hake ʻae tokotaha.
8 [It is as though] Yahweh holds a cup in his hand; it is filled with wine that [has spices] mixed in it [to cause those who drink it to become more drunk]; and when Yahweh pours it out, he will force all the wicked people to drink it; they will drink every drop of it, [which means that he will give them all the punishment that they deserve].
He ʻoku ʻi he nima ʻo Sihova ʻae ipu, pea ʻoku kulokula ʻae uaine: kuo pito ia ʻi he meʻa kuo huʻi ki ai; pea ʻoku lilingi ʻe ia mei ai: ka ko hono efe ʻo ia, ʻe tatau ia ʻe he angakovi kotoa pē ʻo māmani, ʻo inu ia.
9 But [as for me], I will never stop saying what the God whom Jacob [worshiped has done]; I will never quit singing to praise him.
Ka ko au te u fakahā ʻo taʻengata; te u hiva ʻaki ʻae fakamālō ki he ʻOtua ʻo Sēkope.
10 He will destroy the power [IDM] of wicked people, but he will cause righteous people to become more powerful.
Te u tutuʻu ke motu ʻae ngaahi nifo ʻoe kau angahala; ka ʻe hakeakiʻi ʻae ngaahi nifo ʻoe kau māʻoniʻoni.
