Psalms 47

1 You people all [over the world], clap your hands for joy! Shout joyfully to [praise] God!

Dura buʼaa faarfattootaatiif. Faarfannaa Ilmaan Qooraahi. Isin saboonni hundinuu harka keessan rukutaa; sagalee ol fudhadhaatii gammachuudhaan Waaqaaf ililchaa.

2 Yahweh, who is much greater than any other god, is awesome; he is the king who rules over all the world!

Waaqayyo Waaqa Waan Hundaa Olii, Mootichi guddaan lafa hundumaa, sodaachisaadhaatii!

3 He enabled us to defeat [the armies of] the people-groups [that lived in Canaan].

Inni saboota nu jala, namootas miilla keenya jala galcheera.

4 He chose for us this land where we now live; we Israeli people [MTY], whom he loves, are proud that we own this land.

Innis nu warra Yaaqoob isa inni jaallate sanaaf ulfina taaneef, dhaala keenya nuu fileera.

5 God has gone up [into his temple]. The people shouted joyfully and blew trumpets as Yahweh went up.

Waaqni ililleedhaan, Waaqayyo sagalee malakataatiin ol baʼe.

6 Sing songs to praise our God! Sing to praise him [DOU]! Sing to God, our king!

Faarfannaa galataa Waaqaaf faarfadhaa; faarfannaa galataa faarfadhaa; faarfannaa galataa Mootii keenyaaf faarfadhaa; faarfannaa galataa faarfadhaa.

7 God is the one who rules over everything in the world; sing a psalm to him!

Waaqni Mootii lafa hundaa ti; faarfannaa galataa hubannaadhaan faarfadhaa.

8 God sits on his sacred throne as he rules over the people of [all] ethnic groups.

Waaqni saboota irratti Mootii dha; Waaqni teessoo isaa qulqulluu irra taaʼeera.

9 The rulers of those people-groups gather as God’s people, the people [descended] from Abraham, [do]. But God has more power than the weapons/shields [of all the kings] on the earth; (he is greatly honored/people honor him) everywhere.

Qondaaltonni sabootaa, akkuma saba Waaqa Abrahaamitti walitti qabamu; mootonni lafa irraa kan Waaqaatii; innis guddisee ol ol jedheera.
