Numbers 2
1 Then Yahweh said this to Aaron and Moses/me:
Et l’Éternel parla à Moïse et à Aaron, disant:
2 “When the Israelis set up their tents, they should set them up in areas that surround the Sacred Tent, but not close to it. The people of each tribe must set up their tents in a different area. Each tribe must erect in that area a banner of their own clan and a flag that represents their tribe.
Les fils d’Israël camperont chacun près de sa bannière, sous les enseignes de leurs maisons de pères; ils camperont autour de la tente d’assignation, à distance, vis-à-vis.
3 The people of the tribes of Judah, Issachar, and Zebulun must set up their tents on the east side of the Sacred Tent, close to their tribal flags. These are the names of the leaders of those tribes and the number of soldiers whom they will lead: Nahshon, the son of Amminadab, will be the leader of the 74,600 men of the tribe of Judah.
[Voici] ceux qui camperont à l’orient, vers le levant, [sous] la bannière du camp de Juda, selon leurs armées: le prince des fils de Juda, Nakhshon, fils d’Amminadab,
et son armée; et ses dénombrés, 74 600.
5 Nethanel, the son of Zuar, will be the leader of the 54,500 men of the tribe of Issachar.
– Et ceux qui camperont près de lui, sont la tribu d’Issacar: le prince des fils d’Issacar, Nethaneël, fils de Tsuar,
et son armée; et ses dénombrés, 54 400.
7 Eliab, the son of Helon, will be the leader of the 57,400 men of the tribe of Zebulun.
– [Avec eux] sera la tribu de Zabulon: le prince des fils de Zabulon, Éliab, fils de Hélon,
et son armée; et ses dénombrés, 57 400.
9 So there will be 86,400 troops on the east side [of the Sacred Tent]. Whenever the Israelis move to a new location, those three tribes must go in front of the others.
– Tous les dénombrés du camp de Juda, 186 400, selon leurs armées; ils partiront les premiers.
10 The tribes of Reuben, Simeon, and Gad must set up their tents on the south side of the Sacred Tent, close to their tribal flags. These are the names of the leaders of those tribes and the number of men whom they will lead: Elizur, the son of Shedeur, will be the leader of the 46,500 men of the tribe of Reuben.
La bannière du camp de Ruben, selon ses armées, sera vers le midi: le prince des fils de Ruben, Élitsur, fils de Shedéur,
et son armée; et ses dénombrés, 46 500.
12 Shelumiel, the son of Zurishaddai, will be the leader of the 59,300 men of the tribe of Simeon.
– Et ceux qui camperont près de lui, sont la tribu de Siméon: le prince des fils de Siméon, Shelumiel, fils de Tsurishaddaï,
et son armée; et ses dénombrés, 59 300.
14 Eliasaph, the son of Deuel, will be the leader of the 45,650 men of the tribe of Gad.
– Et [avec eux] sera la tribu de Gad: le prince des fils de Gad, Éliasaph, fils de Rehuel,
et son armée; et ses dénombrés, 45 650.
16 So there will be 151,450 troops on the south side of the Sacred Tent. Those three tribes will follow the first group [when the Israelis travel].
– Tous les dénombrés du camp de Ruben, 151 450, selon leurs armées; et ils partiront les seconds.
17 Behind that group will walk the descendants of Levi, who will carry the Sacred Tent. The Israelis will march in the same order that they always set up their tents. Each tribe will carry its own flag.
Et la tente d’assignation partira, le camp des Lévites étant au milieu des camps; comme ils auront campé, ainsi ils partiront, chacun à sa place, selon leurs bannières.
18 The tribes of Ephraim, Manasseh, and Benjamin must set up their tents on the west side of the Sacred Tent, close to their tribal flags. These are the names of the leaders of those tribes and number of men whom they will lead: Elishama, the son of Ammihud, will be the leader of the 40,500 men of the tribe of Ephraim.
La bannière du camp d’Éphraïm, selon ses armées, sera vers l’occident: le prince des fils d’Éphraïm, Élishama, fils d’Ammihud,
et son armée; et ses dénombrés, 40 500.
20 Gamaliel, the son of Pedahzur, will be the leader of the 32,200 men of the tribe of Manasseh.
– Et près de lui la tribu de Manassé: le prince des fils de Manassé, Gameliel, fils de Pedahtsur,
et son armée; et ses dénombrés, 32 200.
22 Abidan, the son of Gideoni, will be the leader of the 35,400 men of the tribe of Benjamin.
– Et [avec eux] sera la tribu de Benjamin: le prince des fils de Benjamin, Abidan, fils de Guidhoni,
et son armée; et ses dénombrés, 35 400.
24 So there will be 108,100 troops on the west side of the Sacred Tent. Those three tribes will follow the second group, [behind the descendants of Levi].
– Tous les dénombrés du camp d’Éphraïm, 108 100, selon leurs armées; et ils partiront les troisièmes.
25 The tribes of Dan, Asher, and Naphtali must set up their tents on the north side of the Sacred Tent, close to their tribal flags. These are the names of the leaders of those tribes and the number of men whom they will lead: Ahiezer, the son of Ammishaddai, will be the leader of the 62,700 men of the tribe of Dan.
La bannière du camp de Dan, selon ses armées, sera vers le nord: le prince des fils de Dan, Akhiézer, fils d’Ammishaddaï,
et son armée; et ses dénombrés, 62 700.
27 Pagiel, the son of Ocran, will be the leader of the 41,500 men of the tribe of Asher.
– Et ceux qui camperont près de lui, sont la tribu d’Aser: le prince des fils d’Aser, Paghiel, fils d’Ocran,
et son armée; et ses dénombrés, 41 500.
29 Ahira, the son of Enan, will be the leader of the 53,400 men of the tribe of Naphtali.
– Et [avec eux] sera la tribu de Nephthali: le prince des fils de Nephthali, Akhira, fils d’Énan,
et son armée; et ses dénombrés, 53 400.
31 So there will be 157,600 troops on the north side of the Sacred Tent. Those three tribes will be last. They must carry their own flags when the Israelis travel.”
– Tous les dénombrés du camp de Dan, 157 600; ils partiront les derniers, selon leurs bannières.
32 So there were 603,550 Israeli men who were able to fight who were listed according to their families’ ancestors.
Ce sont là les dénombrés des fils d’Israël, selon leurs maisons de pères. Tous les dénombrés des camps, selon leurs armées, furent 603 550.
33 But just as Yahweh had commanded, the names of the descendants of Levi were not included.
Mais les Lévites ne furent pas dénombrés parmi les fils d’Israël, ainsi que l’Éternel l’avait commandé à Moïse.
34 The Israelis did everything that Yahweh had told Moses/me. They set up their tents close to their tribal flags, and when they traveled [to a new location, they walked] with their own clans and family groups.
Et les fils d’Israël firent selon tout ce que l’Éternel avait commandé à Moïse: ainsi ils campèrent selon leurs bannières, et ainsi ils partirent, chacun selon leurs familles, selon leurs maisons de pères.
