Joshua 21
1 While Eleazar the Supreme Priest and Joshua and the leaders of all the Israeli tribes were at Shiloh, the leaders of the clans of the tribe of Levi went to them and said, “Yahweh commanded Moses that you should give us towns where we can have pasture/fields/grassland for our animals, [but you have not done these things yet].”
Então os Cabeças dos pais dos levitas se achegaram a Eleazar o sacerdote, e a Josué, filho de Nun, e aos Cabeças dos pais das tribos dos filhos de Israel;
E falaram-lhes em Silo na terra de Canaan, dizendo: O Senhor ordenou, pelo ministério de Moisés, que se nos dessem cidades para habitar, e os seus arrabaldes para os nossos animais.
3 So the Israeli leaders obeyed this command from Yahweh. They agreed to give towns and pasturelands to the tribe of Levi.
Pelo que os filhos de Israel deram aos levitas da sua herança, conforme ao dito do Senhor, estas cidades e os seus arrabaldes.
4 [First] they allotted some cities to the Kohath clans, who belonged to the tribe of Levi. To those who were descendants of the first Supreme Priest Aaron, they allotted 13 towns in the areas that had been allotted to the tribes of Judah, Simeon, and Benjamin.
E saiu a sorte pelas famílias dos kohathitas: e aos filhos de Aarão, o sacerdote, dentre os levitas, cairam por sorte da tribo de Judá, e da tribo de Simeão, e da tribo de Benjamin, treze cidades;
5 To the other members of the Kohath clan they allotted ten cities in the areas that had been allotted to the tribes of Ephraim, Dan, and the part of the tribe of Manasseh [that lives on the west side of the Jordan River].
E aos outros filhos de Kohath cairam por sorte das famílias da tribo de Ephraim, e da tribo de Dan, e da meia tribo de Manasseh, dez cidades;
6 The people from the Gershon clans were allotted 13 cities in the areas that had been allotted to the tribes of Issachar, Asher, Naphtali, and the part of the tribe of Manasseh that lives on the east side of the Jordan [River].
E aos filhos de Gerson cairam por sorte das famílias da tribo de issacar, e da tribo de Aser, e da tribo de Naphtali, e da meia tribo de Manasseh em Basan, treze cidades;
7 The people from the Merari clans were allotted twelve cities in the areas that had been allotted to the tribes of Reuben, Gad, and Zebulun.
Aos filhos de Merari, segundo as suas famílias, da tribo de Ruben, e da tribo de Gad, e da tribo de Zebulon, doze cidades.
8 So the Israeli leaders gave cities and pastureland to the tribe of Levi, just as Yahweh had commanded Moses that they should do.
E deram os filhos de Israel aos levitas estas cidades e os seus arrabaldes por sorte, como o Senhor ordenara pelo ministério de Moisés.
9 These are the names of the cities and surrounding pasturelands that were allotted to them, that were in the areas where the tribes of Judah and Simeon lived.
Deram mais da tribo dos filhos de Judá e da tribo dos filhos de Simeão estas cidades, que por nome foram nomeadas:
10 First, they allotted cities to the members of the Kohath clans.
Para que fossem dos filhos de Aarão, das famílias dos kohathitas, dos filhos de Levi: porquanto a primeira sorte foi sua.
11 They allotted to them Kiriath-Arba (which is [now named] Hebron), in the hilly area of Judah. Arba received its name because Arba was the ancestor of [the giants of] the Anak people-group.
Assim lhes deram a cidade de Arba, do pai de Anok (esta é Hebron), no monte de Judá, e os seus arrabaldes em redor dela.
12 But the fields and villages surrounding Arba had already been allotted to Caleb.
Porém o campo da cidade, e as suas aldeias, deram a Caleb, filho de Jefoné, por sua possessão.
13 They allotted to them Hebron, which was one of the cities to which people could run/escape to be safe/protected. They also allotted to the Kohath clan the cities of Libnah,
Assim aos filhos de Aarão, o sacerdote, deram a cidade do refúgio do homicida, Hebron, e os seus arrabaldes, e Libna, e os seus arrabaldes;
14 Jattir, Eshtemoa,
E Jatthir, e os seus arrabaldes, e Estmoa, e os seus arrabaldes;
15 Holon, Debir,
E Cholon, e os seus arrabaldes, e Debir, e os seus arrabaldes,
16 Ain, Juttah, and Beth-Shemesh. Altogether they were allotted those nine cities which were located in the areas that had been allotted to the tribes of Judah and Simeon.
E Ain, e os seus arrabaldes, e Jutta, e os seus arrabaldes, e Bethsemes, e os seus arrabaldes: nove cidades destas duas tribos.
17 The Kohath clan was also allotted these four cities: Gibeon, Geba,
E da tribo de Benjamin, Gibeon, e os seus arrabaldes, Geba, e os seus arrabaldes;
18 Anathoth, and Almon. Those cities were in the area that had been allotted to the tribe of Benjamin.
Anathoth, e os seus arrabaldes, e Almon, e os seus arrabaldes; quatro cidades.
19 Altogether those 13 towns and surrounding pastureland were allotted to the priests who were descended from Aaron.
Todas as cidades dos sacerdotes, filhos de Aarão, foram treze cidades e os seus arrabaldes.
20 The other members the Kohath clan were allotted four cities and the surrounding pastureland in the area that had been allotted to the tribe of Ephraim.
E as famílias dos filhos de Kohath, levitas, que ficaram dos filhos de Kohath, tiveram as cidades da sua sorte da tribo de Ephraim.
21 Those cities were Shechem (which was one of the cities to which people could run/escape to be safe/protected), Gezer,
E deram-lhes Sichem, cidade do refúgio do homicida, e os seus arrabaldes, no monte de Ephraim, e Gezer, e os seus arrabaldes;
22 Kibzaim, and Beth-Horon.
E Kibsaim, e os seus arrabaldes, e Beth-horon, e os seus arrabaldes: quatro cidades.
23 They were also allotted four cities and surrounding pastureland in the area that had been allotted to the tribe of Dan. Those cities were Eltekeh, Gibbethon,
E da tribo de Dan, Elteke, e os seus arrabaldes, Gibbethon, e os seus arrabaldes;
24 Aijalon, and Gath-Rimmon.
Ajalon, e os seus arrabaldes, Gath-rimmon, e os seus arrabaldes: quatro cidades.
25 They were also allotted two towns and surrounding pastureland that had been allotted to [the] part of the tribe of Manasseh [that lived on the west side of the Jordan River]. Those cities were Taanach and Gath-Rimmon.
E da meia tribo de Manasseh, Taanach, e os seus arrabaldes, e Gath-rimmon, e os seus arrabaldes: duas cidades.
26 Those were the ten cities and surrounding pastureland that were allotted to the other members of the Kohath clan.
Todas as cidades para as famílias dos filhos de Kohath que ficavam, foram dez, e os seus arrabaldes.
27 They also allotted towns and the surrounding pastureland to the Gershon clans. Those clans were also descended from Levi. They were allotted two cities from the area that had been allotted to the tribe of Manasseh [that is on the east side of the Jordan River]. Those cities were Golan in the Bashan region, which was one of the cities to which people could run/escape to be safe/protected, and Be-Eshtarah.
E aos filhos de Gerson, das famílias dos levitas, Golan da meia tribo de Manasseh, cidade do refúgio do homicida, em Basan, e os seus arrabaldes, e Be-estra, e os seus arrabaldes: duas cidades.
28 From the area that had been allotted to the tribe of Issachar they were allotted four cities. Those cities were Kishion, Daberath,
E da tribo de Issacar, Kisjon, e os seus arrabaldes: Daberath, e os seus arrabaldes;
29 Jarmuth, and En-Gannim.
Jarmuth, e os seus arrabaldes, En-Gannim, e os seus arrabaldes: quatro cidades.
30 From the area that had been allotted to the tribe of Asher they were allotted four cities. Those cities were Mishal, Abdon,
E da tribo de Aser, Misal, e os seus arrabaldes, Abdon, e os seus arrabaldes;
31 Helkath, and Rehob.
Helkath, e os seus arrabaldes, e Rohob, e os seus arrabaldes: quatro cidades.
32 From the area that had been allotted to the tribe of Naphtali they were allotted three cities. Those cities were Kedesh in the Galilee region (it was one of the cities to which people could run/escape to be safe/protected), Hammoth-Dor, and Kartan.
E da tribo de Naphtali, Kedes, cidade do refúgio do homicida, em Galiléia, e os seus arrabaldes, e hamoth-dor, e os seus arrabaldes; e Cartan, e os seus arrabaldes: três cidades.
33 So altogether the Gershon clans were allotted 13 cities and the surrounding pasturelands.
Todas as cidades dos gersonitas, segundo as suas famílias, foram treze cidades e os seus arrabaldes.
34 The other descendants of Levi, the ones who belonged to the Merari clans, were also allotted towns and their surrounding pasturelands. From the area that had been allotted to the tribe of Zebulun they were allotted four cities. They were Jokneam, Kartah,
E às famílias dos filhos de Merari, dos levitas que ficavam, foram dadas da tribo de Zebulon, Jokneam e os seus arrabaldes, Carta e os seus arrabaldes,
35 Dimnah, and Nahalal.
Dimna e os seus arrabaldes, Nahalal e os seus arrabaldes: quatro cidades.
36 From the area that had been allotted to the tribe of Reuben they were allotted four cities. They were Bezer, Jahaz,
E da tribo de Ruben, Beser, e os seus arrabaldes, e Jahaz, e os seus arrabaldes;
37 Kedemoth, and Mephaath.
Kedemoth, e os seus arrabaldes, e Mephaath, e os seus arrabaldes: quatro cidades.
38 From the area that had been allotted to the tribe of Gad they were allotted four cities. They were Ramoth, which was one of the cities in the Gilead region to which people could run/escape to be safe/protected, Mahanaim,
E da tribo de Gad, Ramoth, cidade do refúgio do homicida, em Gilead, e os seus arrabaldes, e Mahanaim, e os seus arrabaldes;
39 Heshbon, and Jazer.
Hesbon, e os seus arrabaldes, Jaezer e os seus arrabaldes: por todas, quatro cidades.
40 Altogether twelve cities were allotted to the Merari clans.
Todas estas cidades foram dos filhos de Merari, segundo as suas famílias, que ainda restavam das famílias dos levitas; e foi a sua sorte doze cidades.
41 So altogether 48 cities were allotted to the tribe of Levi,
Todas as cidades dos levitas, no meio da herança dos filhos de Israel, foram quarenta e oito cidades e os seus arrabaldes.
42 and each city had surrounding pastureland.
Estavam estas cidades cada qual com os seus arrabaldes em redor delas: assim estavam todas estas cidades.
43 In that way Yahweh allotted to the Israeli people all the land that he had promised to give to their/our ancestors. The Israeli people took control of [most of] those areas and started to live there.
Desta sorte deu o Senhor a Israel toda a terra que jurara dar a seus pais: e a possuiram e habitaram nela.
44 Just like he had promised our ancestors, Yahweh allowed them/us to have peace with the enemies that surrounded them/us. Yahweh enabled the Israelis/us to defeat their/our enemies.
E o Senhor lhes deu repouso em redor, conforme a tudo quanto jurara a seus pais; e nenhum de todos os seus inimigos ficou em pé diante deles; todos os seus inimigos o Senhor deu na sua mão.
45 Yahweh did all the things that he had promised to the Israeli people/us. Everything that he said would happen did happen.
Palavra alguma falhou de todas as boas palavras que o Senhor falara à casa de Israel: tudo se cumpriu.
