Genesis 44
1 And he commanded [the one] who [was] over household his saying fill [the] sacks of the men food just as they are able! to carry and put [the] silver of each man in [the] mouth of sack his.
Giô-sép ra lệnh cho quản gia: “Hãy đổ thật nhiều lúa cho họ, sức họ chở được bao nhiêu, cứ đổ đầy bấy nhiêu. Còn bạc mua lúa cứ trả lại vào bao mỗi người.
2 And cup my [the] cup of silver you will put in [the] mouth of [the] sack of the young [brother] and [the] silver of grain his and he did according to [the] word of Joseph which he had spoken.
Ngươi cũng hãy để chén bạc của ta vào miệng bao của người út, chung với tiền mua lúa.” Quản gia vâng lệnh Giô-sép.
3 The morning it was light and the men they were sent off they and donkeys their.
Sáng sớm hôm sau, các anh em và đoàn lừa lên đường.
4 They they came out the city not they had gone far and Joseph he said to [the one] who [was] over household his arise pursue after the men and you will overtake them and you will say to them why? have you repaid evil for good.
Khi họ ra khỏi thành chưa xa, Giô-sép bảo quản gia: “Hãy đuổi theo những người đó, chặn họ lại hỏi: ‘Tại sao các anh lấy oán trả ân như thế?
5 ¿ Not [is] this [that] which he drinks master my in it and he indeed he practices divination by it you have done evil [that] which you have done.
Sao nhẫn tâm đánh cắp cái chén bạc của chủ ta dùng uống rượu và bói toán? Các anh đã làm một điều ác đó!’”
6 And he overtook them and he spoke to them the words these.
Quản gia đuổi kịp và nói với họ những lời của Giô-sép.
7 And they said to him why? does he speak master my according to the words these far be it to servants your from doing according to the manner this.
Họ ngạc nhiên: “Tại sao ông nói thế? Chúng tôi không phải hạng người xấu như ông nghĩ đâu.
8 Here! silver which we found in [the] mouth of sacks our we brought back to you from [the] land of Canaan and how? will we steal from [the] house of master your silver or gold.
Số bạc trong các bao lúa, từ Ca-na-an chúng tôi còn đem xuống trả lại cho ngài đầy đủ, lẽ nào còn ăn cắp vàng bạc trong nhà chủ ông?
9 [anyone] whom It is found with him of servants your and he will die and also we we will be[long] to lord my to slaves.
Nếu ông tìm thấy chén bạc nơi ai, người ấy phải chết, còn chúng tôi sẽ làm nô lệ cho chủ ông.”
10 And he said also now according to words your [will be] so it [anyone] whom it is found with him he will be of me slave and you you will be innocent.
Quản gia đáp: “Thôi được, chỉ người ăn cắp bị bắt làm nô lệ, còn tất cả vô can.”
11 And they hurried and they brought down each man sack his [the] ground towards and they opened each man sack his.
Các anh em vội vàng hạ các bao lúa trên lưng lừa xuống đất và mở ra.
12 And he searched with the old [brother] he began and with the young [brother] he finished and it was found the cup in [the] sack of Benjamin.
Quản gia lần lượt khám từ bao của anh cả đến bao của em út. Chén bạc được tìm thấy trong bao của Bên-gia-min.
13 And they tore clothes their and he loaded each man on donkey his and they went back the city towards.
Các anh em thất vọng, xé áo, chất lúa lên lưng lừa, và trở lại thành.
14 And he came Judah and brothers his [the] house of towards Joseph and he still he [was] there and they fell before him [the] ground towards.
Giu-đa và các anh em vào dinh Giô-sép; lúc ấy ông vẫn còn đó. Họ quỳ dưới đất, trước mặt ông.
15 And he said to them Joseph what? [is] the deed this which you have done ¿ not do you know that indeed he practices divination a man who [is] like me.
Giô-sép hỏi: “Các anh làm gì thế? Không biết rằng ta có tài bói toán sao?”
16 And he said Judah what? will we say to lord my what? will we speak and what? will we justify ourselves God he has found [the] guilt of servants your here we [are] slaves of lord my both we as well as [the one] who it was found the cup in hand his.
Giu-đa thưa: “Chúng tôi không biết phải nói năng thế nào, hay phải tự biện hộ làm sao đây, vì Đức Chúa Trời đã phạt chúng tôi về những tội ác của chúng tôi rồi. Chúng tôi và người lấy chén bạc xin trở lại làm nô lệ cho ông.”
17 And he said far be it to me from doing this the man whom it was found the cup in hand his he he will be of me slave and you go up to peace to father your.
Giô-sép đáp: “Không, ta chỉ giữ người lấy chén bạc làm nô lệ cho ta, còn các anh được tự do về nhà cha.”
18 And he drew near to him Judah and he said pardon me O lord my may he speak please servant your a word in [the] ears of lord my and may not it burn anger your on servant your for as you as Pharaoh.
Giu-đa bước đến gần và phân trần: “Xin cho đầy tớ ngài được biện bạch đôi lời. Xin đừng nổi giận với kẻ hèn này, vì uy quyền ngài ngang hàng với vua Pha-ra-ôn.
19 Lord my he asked servants his saying ¿ [does] there [belong] to you a father or a brother.
Trước đây, ngài hỏi chúng tôi còn cha hay anh em nào nữa không.
20 And we said to lord my there [belongs] to us a father old and a child of old age young and brother his he died and he was left he to only him to mother his and father his he loves him.
Chúng tôi thưa là còn cha già và đứa em út ra đời lúc cha đã cao tuổi. Anh nó đã chết. Trong số các con cùng một mẹ, nó là đứa duy nhất còn sống, nên cha cưng nó lắm.
21 And you said to servants your bring down him to me so let me set eye my on him.
Ngài dạy chúng tôi đem nó đến cho ngài thấy mặt.
22 And we said to lord my not he will be able the young man to leave father his and he will leave father his and he will die.
Chúng tôi thưa: ‘Nó không thể lìa cha; nếu nó đi, cha sẽ chết.’
23 And you said to servants your if not he will come down brother your young with you not you will repeat! to see face my.
Ngài lại bảo nếu em út không đến, chúng tôi không được gặp ngài nữa.
24 And it was that we went up to servant your father my and we told to him [the] words of lord my.
Chúng tôi về trình lại với cha những lời ngài dạy.
25 And he said father our go back buy for us a little of food.
Sau đó, cha bảo chúng tôi trở lại mua ít lương thực.
26 And we said not we are able to go down if there [is] brother our young with us and we will go down for not we will be able to see [the] face of the man and brother our young not he [is] with us.
Chúng tôi thưa: ‘Nếu em út không đi cùng, chúng con không thể xuống đây. Vì chúng con không thể gặp tể tướng nếu không có nó.’
27 And he said servant your father my to us you you know that two [sons] she bore to me wife my.
Cha chúng tôi than: ‘Vợ ta sinh cho ta hai con trai,
28 And he went out the one from with me and I said surely certainly he has been torn to pieces and not I have seen him until now.
một đứa đi mất, chắc đã bị thú dữ xé xác, vì đến nay vẫn chưa thấy về.
29 And you will take also this [one] from with presence my and it will happen to him harm and you will cause to go down gray hair my in calamity Sheol towards. (Sheol h7585)
Nếu chúng bay đem đứa này đi nữa, rủi nó bị nguy hiểm, thân già này sẽ sầu khổ mà chết.’ (Sheol h7585)
30 And therefore when come I to servant your father my and the lad not [is] he with us and life his [is] bound up with life his.
Thưa ngài, mạng sống cha tôi tùy thuộc nơi mạng sống đứa trẻ. Bây giờ, nếu tôi không đem nó về nhà,
31 And it will be when sees he that there not [is] the young man and he will die and they will bring down servants your [the] gray hair of servant your father our in sorrow Sheol towards. (Sheol h7585)
khi thấy tôi mà không thấy nó, chắc chắn cha tôi sẽ chết. Vậy, chính chúng tôi làm cho cha già chết trong sầu khổ. (Sheol h7585)
32 For servant your he stood surety for the young man from with father my saying if not I will bring him to you and I will be culpable to father my all the days.
Kẻ hèn này đã xin cha cho bảo lãnh đứa trẻ: ‘Nếu không đem em về cho cha, con sẽ mang tội với cha suốt đời.’
33 And therefore let him remain please servant your in place of the young man a slave of lord my and the lad let him go up with brothers his.
Vậy, xin ngài cho tôi ở lại làm nô lệ thay cho em tôi, để nó về nhà với các anh nó.
34 For how? will I go up to father my and the lad not [is] he with me lest I should look on the calamity which it will find father my.
Làm sao tôi có thể về với cha mà không có nó? Lẽ nào tôi phải chứng kiến thảm họa xảy đến cho cha tôi sao?”
