Proverbs 1
1 The proverbs of Solomon, son of David, King of Israel:
Proverbele lui Solomon, fiul lui David, împăratul lui Israel;
2 For the knowledge of wisdom and correction, for discerning the sayings of intelligence;
Pentru a cunoaște înțelepciunea și instruirea; pentru a pricepe cuvintele înțelegerii;
3 For receiving the correction of prudence, righteousness and justice, and equity;
Pentru a primi instruirea înțelepciunii, a dreptății și a judecății și a echității;
4 For giving To the simple shrewdness, To the young man, knowledge and discretion.
Pentru a da agerime celor simpli, tânărului, cunoaștere și discernământ.
5 A wise man, will hear, and will increase learning, and a, discreet man, wise counsels, will acquire,
Un înțelept va asculta și își va crește învățătura, și un om al priceperii va obține sfaturi înțelepte;
6 By gaining discernment of proverb, and satire, the words of the wise, and their dark sayings.
Pentru a înțelege un proverb și interpretarea lui, cuvintele înțelepților și vorbele lor adânci.
7 The reverence of Yahweh, is the beginning of knowledge, Wisdom and correction, the foolish have despised.
Teama de DOMNUL este începutul cunoașterii; dar nebunii disprețuiesc înțelepciunea și instruirea.
8 Hear, my son, the correction of thy father, and do not reject the instruction of thy mother;
Fiul meu, ascultă instruirea tatălui tău și nu părăsi legea mamei tale;
9 For, a wreath of beauty, shall they be to thy head, and chains of ornament, to thy neck.
Fiindcă ele vor fi o podoabă de har pentru capul tău și lănțișoare în jurul gâtului tău.
10 My son, if sinners entice thee, do not consent.
Fiul meu, dacă păcătoșii te ademenesc, nu te învoi!
11 If they say—Come with us, —Let us lie in wait for blood, Let us watch in secret for him who is needlessly innocent;
Dacă ei spun: Vino cu noi, să stăm la pândă pentru a vărsa sânge, să pândim în ascuns și fără motiv pe cel nevinovat;
12 Let us engulf them, like hades, alive, While in health, like them who are going down to the pit; (Sheol h7585)
Să îi înghițim de vii precum mormântul; și în întregime, ca pe cei ce coboară în groapă; (Sheol h7585)
13 All costly substance, shall we find, We shall fill our houses with spoil;
Vom găsi toate averile prețioase, ne vom umple casele cu pradă;
14 Thy lot, shalt thou cast into our midst, One purse, shall there be, for us all.
Aruncă-ți sorțul printre noi; să avem toți o singură pungă;
15 My son, do not walk in the way with them, Withhold thy foot from their path.
Fiul meu, nu umbla cu ei pe cale; oprește-ți piciorul de la cărarea lor;
16 For, their feet, to mischief, do run, and haste to the shedding of blood.
Căci picioarele lor aleargă la rău și se grăbesc să verse sânge.
17 Surely, in vain, is spread the net, in the sight of aught that hath wings!
Cu siguranță în zadar este întinsă plasa înaintea ochilor oricărei păsări.
18 Yet, they, for their own blood, lie in wait, They watch in secret for their own life.
Și ei stau la pândă pentru a vărsa propriul lor sânge; pândesc în ascuns propriile lor vieți.
19 Such are the ways of every one that graspeth with greed, The life of the owners thereof, it taketh away!
Astfel sunt căile fiecărui om lacom de câștig, lăcomie care ia viața celor ce o au.
20 Wisdom, in the open place, soundeth forth, in the broadways, she raiseth her voice;
Înțelepciunea strigă afară; își înalță vocea pe străzi;
21 At the head of bustling streets, she crieth aloud, —at the openings of the gates in the city—her sayings, she doth utter: —
Ea strigă în piața de adunare a mulțimii, în pragurile porților; își rostește cuvintele ei în cetate, spunând:
22 How long, ye simple ones, will ye love simplicity? and, scoffers, in scoffing, delight them? and, dullards, hate knowledge?
Până când simplilor, veți iubi simplitatea și batjocoritorii se vor desfăta în batjocurile lor și proștii vor urî cunoașterea?
23 Will ye turn, at my reproof? Lo! I will pour out to you my spirit, I will make known my words to you.
Întoarceți-vă la mustrarea mea; iată, voi turna duhul meu peste voi, vă voi face cunoscute cuvintele mele.
24 Because I called, and ye refused, I stretched out my hand, and no one regarded;
Deoarece v-am chemat și ați refuzat; mi-am întins mâna și nimeni nu a dat atenție;
25 But ye dismissed all my counsel, and, to my rebuke, would not yield,
Dar ați făcut de nimic tot sfatul meu și ați refuzat mustrarea mea;
26 I also, at your calamity, will laugh, I will mock, when cometh your dread;
Și eu voi râde la nenorocirea voastră; îmi voi bate joc când vine spaima voastră;
27 When cometh as a crashing your dread, and, your calamity, as a storm-wind, overtaketh, when there come upon you, distress and anguish.
Când vine spaima voastră ca pustiirea și nimicirea voastră vine ca un vârtej de vânt; când vine strâmtorarea și chinul peste voi,
28 Then, will they call me, but I will not answer, they will seek me diligently, but shall not find me.
Atunci mă vor chema, dar voi refuza să răspund; devreme mă vor căuta, dar nu mă vor găsi,
29 Because they hated knowledge, and, the reverence of Yahweh, did not choose;
Pentru că au urât cunoașterea și nu au ales teama de DOMNUL;
30 Consented not to my counsel, disdained all my rebuke,
Au refuzat sfatul meu, au disprețuit întreaga mea mustrare.
31 Therefore shall they eat of the fruit of their own way, and, with their own counsels, be filled.
De aceea vor mânca din rodul căii lor și vor fi îndestulați cu propriile lor planuri.
32 For, the turning away of the simple, will slay them, —and, the carelessness of dullards, will destroy them.
Fiindcă abaterea de pe cale a celor simpli îi va ucide și prosperitatea proștilor îi va nimici.
33 Whereas, he that hearkeneth unto me, shall dwell safely, and be at rest, without dread of misfortune.
Dar oricine îmi dă ascultare va locui în siguranță și va fi liniștit față de teama de rău.
