Isaiah 5
1 Let me sing, I pray you, for a well-beloved of mine, The song of my beloved concerning his vineyard: —A vineyard, had my well-beloved on a very fruitful hill;
என் அன்புக்குரியவருக்காக அவருடைய திராட்சைத் தோட்டத்தைப்பற்றி ஒரு பாட்டுப் பாடுவேன்: என் அன்புக்குரியவருக்கு செழிப்பான குன்றின்மேல் திராட்சைத் தோட்டம் ஒன்றிருந்தது.
2 And he thoroughly digged it, And gathered out the stones thereof, And planted it with a precious vine, And built a tower in the midst thereof, Moreover also a wine-press, hewed he therein, —Then waited he that it should bring forth grapes. And it brought forth wild grapes:
அவர் அதைக் கொத்தி கற்களை நீக்கிப் பண்படுத்தினார்; உயர்ந்தரக திராட்சைக் கொடிகளை அங்கு நட்டார். அவர் அதற்கு நடுவிலே காவற்கோபுரம் ஒன்றைக் கட்டி, திராட்சை இரசம் பிழியும் ஆலையொன்றையும் அமைத்தார். அது நல்ல திராட்சைப் பழங்களைத் தருமென்று எதிர்பார்த்தார், ஆனால் அதுவோ புளிப்பான பழங்களையே கொடுத்தது.
3 Now, therefore, O inhabitant of Jerusalem, And men of Judah, —Judge, I pray you, betwixt me, and my vineyard: —
“எருசலேம் நகரில் வசிப்போரே, யூதா மனிதர்களே, இப்போது நீங்களே எனக்கும் என் திராட்சைத் தோட்டத்திற்கும் இடையில் நியாயந்தீருங்கள்.
4 What could have been done further to my vineyard, That I had not done in it? Why then—When I had waited that it should bring forth grapes, Brought it forth, wild grapes?
என் திராட்சைத் தோட்டத்திற்கு நான் செய்ததைவிடக் கூடுதலாக என்ன செய்திருக்கலாம்? நல்ல திராட்சைப் பழங்களைத் தருமென்று நான் காத்திருக்க, அது ஏன் புளிப்பான பழங்களைக் கொடுத்தது?
5 Now, therefore, I pray you, let me tell, you, what I am about to do to my vineyard, —To take away the fence thereof And it shall be eaten up, To destroy the wall thereof And it shall be trodden down;
ஆகவே நான் என் திராட்சைத் தோட்டத்திற்கு இப்போது செய்யப்போவதைச் சொல்வேன்: அதன் வேலியை நீக்கிவிடுவேன், அது அழிந்துவிடும். அதன் மதில்களை உடைத்துவிடுவேன், அது மிதிக்கப்படும்.
6 And I will make it a waste; —It shall be neither pruned nor hoed, But there shall come up briars and thorns, —And upon the clouds, will I lay a charge, That they rain thereon no rain.
அதன் கிளைகளை நறுக்காமலும், களையைக் கொத்தி எடுக்கப்படாமலும் அதைப் பாழ்நிலமாக விட்டுவிடுவேன். முட்செடிகளும் நெருஞ்சில் செடிகளும் அங்கு வளரும். அங்கு மழை பெய்யாதபடி நான் மேகங்களுக்குக் கட்டளையிடுவேன்.”
7 Surely the vineyard of Yahweh of hosts, is the house of Israel, And, the men of Judah, are the plantation in which he dearly delighted, —And he waited, For equity but lo! murderous iniquity, For the rule of right but lo the cry of the wronged.
எல்லாம் வல்ல யெகோவாவின் திராட்சைத் தோட்டம் இஸ்ரயேல் குடும்பமே. யூதாவின் மனிதர்தான் அவரின் மகிழ்ச்சியின் தோட்டம். அவர் நீதியை எதிர்பார்த்தார், ஆனால் இரத்தம் சிந்துதலையே கண்டார்; நியாயத்தை எதிர்பார்த்தார், ஆனால் முறைப்பாட்டையே கேட்டார்.
8 Alas for them who join house to house, Field to field, bring they near, —Until there is no room, But ye are left to dwell alone in the midst of the land.
நாட்டில் பிறருக்கு இடம் இல்லாமல் தாங்கள்மட்டும், வீட்டுடன் வீட்டைச் சேர்த்து, வயலுடன் வயலை இணைத்து வாழ்கிறவர்களே, உங்களுக்கு ஐயோ!
9 In mine ears, [said] Yahweh of hosts, —Verily, houses in abundance, shall become, a desolation, Large and fair, without inhabitant;
எல்லாம் வல்ல யெகோவா என் காது கேட்க அறிவித்ததாவது: “நிச்சயமாகவே அந்த பெரும் வீடுகள் பாழாகும், அழகிய மாளிகைகள் குடியிருப்பாரின்றி விடப்படும்.
10 For, ten yokes of vineyard, shall yield one bath, —And the seed of a homer, shall yield an ephah,
பத்து ஏக்கர் திராட்சைத் தோட்டம் ஒரு குடம் திராட்சை இரசத்தையே உற்பத்தி செய்யும். பத்து கலம் விதை விதைத்தால் ஒரு கலம் அளவு தானியத்தை மட்டுமே கொடுக்கும்.”
11 Alas, for them who rise early in the morning that strong drink, they may pursue, —Who follow on in the evening cool [until] with wine, they are heated;
அதிகாலையில் எழுந்து மதுபானத்தை நாடி அலைந்து, இரவுவரை தரித்திருந்து வெறிக்கும்வரை குடித்துக் கொண்டிருப்பவர்களுக்கு ஐயோ, கேடு!
12 And it cometh to pass—that lyre and harp, timbrel and flute and wine are in their banquets, —But, the doing of Yahweh, they do not discern, And the work of his hands, have they not seen.
அவர்கள் யாழோடும், வீணையோடும், தம்புராக்களோடும், குழலோடும், மதுவோடும் விருந்து கொண்டாடுகிறார்கள். ஆனால் அவர்கள் யெகோவாவின் செயல்களை நினைப்பதோ, அவரின் கரம் செய்தவற்றை நோக்கிப் பார்ப்பதோ இல்லை.
13 Therefore, are my people taken away captive before they know it, —And their honourable men are famished with hunger, And, their multitude, do gape for thirst.
எனவே எனது மக்கள் அறிவின்மையால் நாடுகடத்தப்படுவார்கள்; அவர்களின் பெருமதிப்பிற்குரியவர்கள் பட்டினியால் சாவார்கள், பொதுமக்கள் தாகத்தால் நாவறண்டு போவார்கள்.
14 Therefore, hath hades enlarged her desire, And opened her mouth to its widest, —And their glory, and their multitude and their pomp. and he that is uproarious shall descend thereinto. (Sheol h7585)
எனவே பாதாளம் தன் தொண்டையை விரிவாக்கி, தன் வாயை அளவின்றித் திறக்கிறது. உயர்குடி மக்களும், பொதுமக்களும் அவர்களோடுகூட சண்டைக்காரரும், வெறியரும் அதற்குள் இறங்குவார்கள். (Sheol h7585)
15 And the mean man hath been bowed down And the mighty man hath been humbled, —Yea the looks of the haughty shall be humbled.
இப்படியாக மனிதன் தாழ்நிலைக்குக் கொண்டுவரப்படுவான். மனுக்குலமும் தாழ்த்தப்படும். அகங்காரரின் கண்களும் தாழ்த்தப்படும்.
16 But Yahweh of hosts, hath been exalted, in justice, —And the GOD that is holy hath been hallowed in righteousness;
ஆனால் எல்லாம் வல்ல யெகோவா தமது நியாயத்தீர்ப்பினால் உயர்ந்து, பரிசுத்த இறைவனும் தமது நீதியினால் தம்மைப் பரிசுத்தராக வெளிப்படுத்துவார்.
17 Then shall the young rams feed where they please, —And, the wastes of the wealthy, shall strangers consume.
அப்பொழுது செம்மறியாடுகள் தங்கள் மேய்ச்சல் இடங்களில் மேயும். செல்வந்தரின் பாழடைந்த இடங்களை அந்நியர்கள் அனுபவிப்பார்கள்.
18 Alas! for them Who draw on themselves punishment with cords of falsehood, —And as with waggon-bands, penalty:
வஞ்சகத்தின் கயிறுகளால் பாவத்தையும், வண்டியின் கயிறுகளால் கொடுமையையும் இழுத்து, ஐயோ கேடு!
19 Who say—Let his work quicken—let it hasten, That we may see, —And let the purpose of Israel’s Holy One, draw near and come. That we may know!
“நாம் காணத்தக்கதாக, இறைவன் துரிதமாய் வந்து தமது வேலையை விரைவாகச் செய்யட்டும். நாம் அறியத்தக்கதாக, இஸ்ரயேலரின் பரிசுத்தர் தமது திட்டத்தை வெளிப்படுத்தி, அதை நிறைவேற்றட்டும்” என்று சொல்கிறவர்களுக்கு ஐயோ, கேடு!
20 Alas! for them Who call evil good and good evil, —Who put darkness for light and light for darkness, Who put bitter for sweet and sweet for bitter.
தீமையை நன்மையென்றும், நன்மையைத் தீமையென்றும் சொல்லி, இருளை ஒளியாக்கி, ஒளியை இருளாக்கி, கசப்பை இனிப்பாக்கி, இனிப்பை கசப்பாக்குகிறவர்களுக்கு ஐயோ, கேடு!
21 Alas for them Who are wise in their own eyes, —And in their own sight, are prudent.
தங்கள் கண்களுக்கு ஞானியாக இருப்பவர்களுக்கும், தங்கள் கணிப்பில் புத்திசாலியாக இருப்பவர்களுக்கும் ஐயோ, கேடு!
22 Alas for them Who are heroes to drink wine, —And men of valour to mingle strong drink,
திராட்சைமது குடிப்பதில் வீரரும், மதுபானம் கலக்குவதில் வல்லவர்களுமாயிருந்து,
23 Who justify the lawless, for a bribe, —Whereas the righteousness of the righteous, they take from him.
இலஞ்சத்துக்காகக் குற்றவாளியை விடுவித்து, குற்றமற்றவனுக்கு நீதியை வழங்க மறுக்கிறவர்களுக்கு ஐயோ, கேடு!
24 Therefore, As a tongue of fire, eateth up straw, And a flame reduceth, dry grass, to powder, Their root, like rottenness, shall become, And their blossom, like dust shall ascend, —Because they refused the law of Yahweh of hosts, And the utterance of the Holy One of Israel, they despised.
ஆகவே அக்கினி ஜூவாலை வைக்கோலைச் சுட்டெரிப்பதுபோலவும், காய்ந்த புல் நெருப்பில் எரிந்து மடிவதுபோலவும், அவர்களின் வேர்கள் அழுகி, பூக்கள் புழுதிபோல் பறந்துவிடும். ஏனெனில் அவர்கள் எல்லாம் வல்ல யெகோவாவின் சட்டத்தைப் புறக்கணித்து, இஸ்ரயேலின் பரிசுத்தருடைய வார்த்தையை இழிவுபடுத்தினார்கள்.
25 For this cause, did the anger of Yahweh kindle upon his own people, And he stretched out his hand against them and smote them—So that the mountains, trembled, And, their dead bodies, served, for fuel in the midst of the streets. For all this, hath his anger, not turned back, But still, is his hand outstretched,
அதனால் யெகோவாவின் கோபம் தம்முடைய மக்களுக்கு விரோதமாய் பற்றியெரிகிறது: அவர் தமது கரத்தை உயர்த்தி, அவர்களை அடித்து வீழ்த்துகிறார். மலைகள் நடுநடுங்கின, அவர்களுடைய பிரேதங்கள் தெருக்களில் குப்பைபோல் கிடக்கின்றன. இவையெல்லாம் நடந்தும் அவரது கோபம் தீராமல், அவரது கரம் இன்னும் ஓங்கியபடியே இருக்கிறது.
26 Therefore will he lift up an ensign to the nations afar off, And signal for him from the end of the earth, —And lo! with hot haste, will he come:
அவர் தூரத்திலுள்ள நாடுகளுக்கு ஒரு கொடியை ஏற்றி, பூமியின் கடைசியிலுள்ளவர்களைக் கூவி அழைக்கிறார். இதோ, அவர்கள் வருகிறார்கள், விரைந்து வேகமாய் வருகிறார்கள்!
27 None shall be weary, and none shall stumble in his midst, He shall neither slumber nor sleep, —Nor shall be loosened, the girdle of his loins, Nor snapped, the thong of his sandals:
அவர்களில் ஒருவரேனும் களைப்புறுவதுமில்லை, இடறிவிழுவதுமில்லை; ஒருவரும் தூங்குவதுமில்லை, உறங்குவதுமில்லை; அவர்களின் இடைப்பட்டி தளர்த்தப்படுவதுமில்லை, அவர்களின் செருப்புகளின் தோல்வார் ஒன்றும் அறுந்துபோவதும் இல்லை.
28 Whose arrows, are sharpened, and all his bows, bent, —The hoofs of his horses, like flint, are accounted, And, his wheels, [are] like a storm-wind:
அவர்களுடைய அம்புகள் கூரானவை; வில்லுகள் நாணேற்றப்பட்டவை. அவர்களுடைய குதிரைகளின் குளம்புகள் கருங்கற்கள் போலவும், தேர்ச் சக்கரங்கள் சுழற்காற்றைப் போலவும் காணப்படுகின்றன.
29 A roar, hath he, like a lioness, —He will roar like wild lions—And will growl, and lay hold on prey, and carry into safety, and there be none to deliver.
அவர்களின் கெர்ச்சிப்பு சிங்கத்தின் கெர்ச்சிப்பைப் போன்றது, அவர்கள் இளஞ்சிங்கத்தைப்போல் கெர்ச்சிக்கிறார்கள்; அவர்கள் தங்கள் இரையைப் பற்றிக்கொள்ளும்போது உறுமுகிறார்கள்; அதை விடுவிக்கிறவன் இல்லாமல், அவர்கள் தாங்கள் பிடித்ததைக் கொண்டுபோகிறார்கள்.
30 Yea he will growl at him in that day, like the growling of the sea, —Though he look hard for the land, lo! the darkness of distress, Yea the light, hath grown dark in its clouds!
அந்நாளிலே அவர்கள், கடலின் இரைச்சல்போல் அவர்களுக்கு விரோதமாக இரைவார்கள். ஒருவன் அந்த நாட்டைப் பார்க்கும்போது இருளையும் துன்பத்தையுமே காண்பான்; வெளிச்சமும் மேகங்களால் இருளாக்கப்படும்.
