< Genesis 49 >

1 Then called Jacob unto his sons, —and said—Gather yourselves together, and let me tell you, that which shall befall you in the afterpart of the days.
Yakob frɛɛ ne mmabarima nyinaa ka kyerɛɛ wɔn se, “Mummetwa me ho nhyia, na menka mo nea ɛbɛba mo so daakye.
2 Assemble yourselves and hear ye sons of Jacob, —And hearken unto Israel your father!
“Yakob mmabarima, mommoaboa mo ho ano, na muntie; muntie mo agya Israel.
3 Reuben, my first-born, thou, My vigour, and the first-fruit of my strength, —Pre-eminence of elevation and pre-eminence of power:
“Ruben, wo na woyɛ mʼabakan. Wo na woyɛ me tumi ne mʼahoɔden nsɛnkyerɛnne a edi kan a ɛboro anuonyam ne tumi so.
4 Boiling over like water, thou mayest not have pre-eminence, Because thou didst mount the bed of thy father, —Then, wast thou profane—My marriage-bed, he mounted!
Woyɛ kitikiti sɛ asorɔkye, nanso worenkɔ so bio, efisɛ woforoo wʼagya mpa ne ne yere kɔdae, de guu mʼanim ase.
5 Simeon and Levi, are brethren, —Instruments of violence, are their agreements:
“Simeon ne Lewi yɛ anuanom. Wogyina hɔ ma basabasayɛ ne asisi.
6 Into their circle, do not thou enter my soul! In their convocation, do not thou join mine honour! For in their anger, they slew brave men, And in their wantonness, they ham-strung oxen.
Mma me nkɔka wɔn agyinatu ho, efisɛ wɔnam wɔn abufuw so akunkum nnipa, na wokunkum anantwi de gyee wɔn ani.
7 Accursed, be their anger, because fierce, And their wrath because cruel, —I divide them in Jacob, And I disperse them in Israel.
Nnome nka wɔn abufuw, efisɛ ano yɛ den, na ɛyɛ atirimɔdensɛm! Ɛno nti, mɛbɔ wɔn asefo ahwete Israelman mu nyinaa.
8 Judah, as for thee, thy brethren shall praise thee when thy hand is on the neck of thy foes, —The sons of thy father, shall bow them-selves down to thee:
“Yuda, wo nuabarimanom beyi wo ayɛ. Wobɛsɛe wʼatamfo nyinaa. Wʼagya mmabarima bɛkotow wo.
9 A lion’s whelp, is Judah, From the prey, my son hast thou come up! He hath stooped—hath crouched As a lion—or as a lioness, Who shall rouse him?
Yuda, woyɛ gyata ba a woawe wʼatamfo nam awie. Wote sɛ gyata a wabutuw. Hena na obetumi akɔka no?
10 The sceptre shall not depart from Judah, Nor the commander’s staff from between his feet, —Until that he come in as a Shiloh, And, his, be the obedience of the peoples:
Ahempema remfi Yuda nsam, na saa ara nso na ahempema remfi nʼanan ntam, kosi sɛ, nea ɛyɛ ne dea a aman nyinaa betie no no bɛba.
11 Binding, to the vine, his ass, And to the choice vine his ass’s colt, He hath washed in wine his raiment, And in the blood of grapes, his mantle:
Ɔbɛsa nʼafurum wɔ bobe dua mu. Ɔde nʼafurum ba bɛsa bobe pa mman mu. Ɔbɛhoro ne ntama wɔ nsa mu, na wahoro nʼatade nso wɔ bobesa kɔɔ mu.
12 Darker—his eyes, than wine, —Whiter—his teeth than milk!
Nʼaniwa aba bebiri asen bobesa. Ne se bɛyɛ fitaa asen nufusu.
13 Zebulon, by a haven of seas, shall he settle down, —Even he, by a haven of ships, With his utmost part upon Zidon.
“Sebulon bɛtena mpoano. Obesisi ahyɛngyinabea ama ahyɛn. Nʼahye so bɛtrɛw akosi Sidon.
14 Issachar, an ass of strength, —couching between the pens;
“Isakar yɛ afurum hoɔdenfo a obutuw hɔ rehome wɔ nguankuw mu.
15 Then beholdeth he rest, that it is good, And the ground that it is pleasant, —So he bendeth his shoulder to bear, And becometh a tributary servant.
Sɛ ohu sɛnea nʼahomegyebea ye fa, ne sɛnea nʼasase no so dwo a, obekuntun agye adesoa, na wapene so sɛ akoa ama ɔhyɛ adwuma.
16 Dan, shall vindicate his people, —as one of the tribes of Israel;
“Dan bebu ne manfo atɛn sɛ Israel mmusuakuw no baako.
17 It cometh to pass that, Dan, is a serpent upon the way, A horned viper, upon the path, —That biteth the heels of the horse, And his rider falleth backwards: —
Dan bɛyɛ sɛ ɔwɔ a ɔda kwankyɛn; ɔbɛyɛ sɛ ahurutoa a ɔnam ɔtempɔn mu a ɔka ɔpɔnkɔ nantin, sɛnea ɛbɛma ne sotefo atew ahwe nʼakyi.
18 For thy salvation, have I waited O Yahweh!
“Awurade, wo nkwagye na meretwɛn.
19 Gad! a troop shall troop on him, —But, he, shall troop on the rear.
“Nnipa bɔnefo bɛtow ahyɛ Gad so, na ɔno nso betiw wɔn atow ahyɛ wɔn so.
20 Out of Asher, fatness, is his food, —So, he, setteth forth dainties for a king.
“Aser aduan a odi no bɛyɛ aduan pa. Na ɔbɛma ahennuan a ɛyɛ akɔnnɔ.
21 Naphtali, is a slender hind, —That putteth forth antlers of beauty.
“Naftali te sɛ ɔforote a wɔagyaa no a ɔwo mma ahoɔfɛfo.
22 A fruitful bough, is Joseph, A fruitful bough over a fountain, —Branches creeping over a wall.
“Yosef yɛ ngodua a ɛsow aba, a esi asuten ho, na ne mman tra afasu.
23 So they attack him and have shot, —So they enclose him, do the masters of arrows.
Agyantowfo kaa no hyɛe, de abufuw tow hyɛɛ ne so.
24 But abideth, as an enduring one, his bow, And supple are the arms of his hands, —From the hands of the Mighty One of Jacob, From thence, is the Shepherd the Stone of Israel:
Nanso ne bɛma no gyinaa pintinn, na ne basa mu yɛɛ den; esiane Otumfo Nyankopɔn a Yakob som no no a ɔyɛ oguanhwɛfo ne Israel botantim no;
25 From the GOD of thy father who doth help thee And GOD Almighty who doth bless thee, Blessings of the heavens, above, Blessings of the abyss, couching beneath, —Blessings of breasts and womb:
esiane Onyankopɔn a wʼagya som no a ɔboa wo no; Otumfo a ɔde ɔsoro nhyira behyira wo; nhyira a efi asase ase pɛɛ; nhyira a efi nufu ne ɔyafunu mu no.
26 The blessings of thy father, have prevailed, Over the blessings of the perpetual mountains, The charm of the age-abiding hills, —They turn out to be, for the head of Joseph, And for the crown of the head of him who was set apart from his brethren.
Wʼagya nhyira a wɔahyira no no bɛdɔɔso asen tete nteredee mmepɔw ne nkoko a etintim hɔ daa no so nnɔbae. Eyinom nyinaa mmra Yosef ti so, engugu anuanom no mu nea wɔapaw no no anintɔn so.
27 Benjamin a wolf that teareth in pieces, In the morning, he eateth prey, And at eventide, he divideth spoil.
“Benyamin yɛ pataku a ɔyɛ nam; ɔbɔ aporɔw anɔpa, kyere ne hanam we, na edu anwummere a, ɔkyekyɛ nam nkae no.”
28 All these, are the twelve tribes of Israel, —And this, is that which their father spake to them when he blessed them, Each man severally according to the blessing wherewith he blessed them.
Eyi ne nhyira a Israel mmusuakuw dumien no agya de hyiraa wɔn; obiara ne sɛnea ɛfata no.
29 Then commanded he them and said unto them—I, am about to be gathered unto my people, Bury me among my fathers, —within the cave, that is in the field of Ephron the Hittite:
Yakob rebewu no, ɔka kyerɛɛ wɔn hyɛɛ wɔn se, “Aka kakraa bi, na wɔrebɛfa me akɔka me mpanyimfo ho. Sɛ miwu a, munsie me wɔ ɔboda a ɛwɔ Hetini Efron afuw a wosiee me mpanyimfo wɔ mu no mu.
30 in the cave that is in the field of Machpelah which is over against Mamre, in the land of Canaan, —which Abraham bought, along with the field, from Ephron the Hittite for a possession of a buryingplace: —
Ɛno ne ɔboda ne afuw a ɛwɔ Makpela, a ɛbɛn Mamrɛ a ɛwɔ Kanaan asase so no. Abraham tɔɔ saa ɔboda no fii Hetini Efron nkyɛn, de yɛɛ amusiei.
31 There, buried they Abraham, and Sarah his wife, There, buried they Isaac, and Rebekah his wife, —And there, buried I Leah: —
Saa ɔboda no mu na wosiee Abraham ne ne yere Sara. Ɛhɔ ara nso na wosiee Isak ne ne yere Rebeka, na misiee Lea nso.
32 buying the field and the cave that is therein, from the sons of Heth.
Me nena Abraham tɔɔ afuw no ne ɔboda a ɛka ho no nyinaa fii Hetifo no nkyɛn.”
33 So Jacob made an end of commanding his sons, and gathered up his feet into the couch, —and ceased to breathe and was gathered unto his people.
Bere a Yakob kasa kyerɛɛ ne mma no wiee no, ɔmaa ne nan so guu ne mpa so wui. Wokosiee no wɔ ne mpanyimfo nkyɛn.
