< 1 Samuel 6 >

1 And it came to pass, that the ark of Yahweh was in the country of the Philistines, seven months.
Awurade Apam Adaka no dii Filistifo asase so asram ason.
2 Then called the Philistines for the priests and for the diviners, saying, What shall we do with the ark of Yahweh? Let us know, wherewith we shall send it to its own place.
Na Filistifo no frɛɛ wɔn asɔfo ne wɔn asamanfrɛfo bisaa wɔn se, “Dɛn na yɛnyɛ Awurade Apam Adaka yi? Monkyerɛ yɛn ɔkwan a yɛmfa so nsan mfa nkɔ asase a efi so no so.”
3 And they said—If ye are going to send away the ark of the God of Israel, do not send it away, empty, but ye must, surely return, to him, a guilt-offering, —then, shall ye be healed, and it shall be known to you, wherefore his hand would not turn away from you.
Wɔka kyerɛɛ wɔn se, “Monsan mfa Israel Nyankopɔn Apam Adaka no nkɔ faako a mokɔfaa no, na momfa akyɛde nka ho. Momfa afɔdi afɔre nka ho, na ama ɔyaredɔm no agyae. Na sɛ ɔyaredɔm no annyae a, ɛbɛma moahu sɛ ɛnyɛ Onyankopɔn na ɔde bae.”
4 And they said—What shall be the guilt-offering, that we shall return to him? And they said—By the number of the lords of the Philistines, five tumours of gold, and five mice of gold, —for, one plague, was on you all, and on your lords.
Wobisae se, “Ɛno de, na afɔdi afɔre bɛn na yɛmfa nkɔ?” Na wɔka kyerɛɛ wɔn se, “Esiane sɛ ɔyaredɔm no abɔ mo ne mo asodifo baanum nti, monyɛ sikakɔkɔɔ te sɛ pɔmpɔ sɛso anum ne sikakɔkɔɔ akisi sɛso anum te sɛ nea asodifo no dodow te.
5 Wherefore ye shall make likenesses of your turnouts, and likenesses of your mice that are laying waste the land, and shall, give unto the, God of Israel, glory, —Peradventure he will lighten his hand from off you, and from off your god, and from off your land.
Monyɛ saa nneɛma yi nyinaa mfa nkyerɛ nidi a mowɔ ma Israel Nyankopɔn. Na ebia, obegyaa mo, mo anyame ne mo asase amanehunu no.
6 Wherefore, then, should ye make your heart dull, as the Egyptians and Pharaoh made their heart dull! When he had done his great doings upon them, did they not let them go, and they departed?
Monnyɛ asoɔden, nnyɛ atuatewfo, sɛnea Farao ne Misraimfo yɛe no. Wɔamma Israelfo ankɔ kosii sɛ Onyankopɔn maa ɔyaredɔm tew guu wɔn so.
7 Now, therefore, take and get ready, one new waggon, and two milch kine, whereon hath never come yoke, —then shall ye fasten the kine in the waggon, and withdraw their calves from them, into the shed;
“Afei, monyɛ teaseɛnam foforo, na monhwehwɛ anantwibere abien a afei na wɔawo mma foforo. Monhwɛ sɛ wɔntwee teaseɛnam da. Momfa anantwi no nsesa teaseɛnam no na montetew wɔn mma no mfi wɔn ho, mfa wɔn nkogu wɔn buw mu.
8 and ye shall take the ark of Yahweh, and place it in the waggon, also, the jewels of gold which ye send back to him as a guilt-offering, shall ye put into a coffer, at the side thereof, —so shall ye let it go, and it shall depart.
Momfa Awurade Apam Adaka no nsi teaseɛnam no mu, na momfa adakawa a sikakɔkɔɔ akisi sɛso ne sikakɔkɔɔ pɔmpɔ sɛso wɔ mu no nsi nkyɛn. Afei, momma anantwi no nkɔ baabiara a wɔpɛ.
9 Then shall ye look—if, by the way of its own boundary, it goeth up to Beth-shemesh, he, it was who caused us this great affliction, —but, if not, then shall we know that it was not, his hand, that smote us, a chance, it was, that befell us.
Na sɛ wɔtra yɛn asase hye, na wokodu Bet-Semes a, ɛbɛma yɛahu sɛ, ɛyɛ Awurade na ɔde saa amanehunu kɛse yi baa yɛn so. Na sɛ amma no saa a, yebehu sɛ saa ɔyaredɔm a ɛbaa yɛn so no yɛ akwanhyia bi, na mmom, emfi Awurade, wɔ ɔkwan biara so.”
10 The men, therefore, did so, and took two milch kine, and fastened them in the waggon, —but, their calves, shut they up in the shed.
Wɔyɛɛ saa. Wɔfaa anantwi abien a wɔawo foforo de wɔn saa teaseɛnam no so, na wɔde wɔn mma no guu buw mu.
11 And they put the ark of Yahweh, into the waggon, —also the coffer, with the mice of gold, and the likenesses of their tumours.
Wɔde Awurade Apam Adaka no sii teaseɛnam no mu. Wɔde adakawa a sikakɔkɔɔ akisi sɛso ne sikakɔkɔɔ pɔmpɔ sɛso wɔ mu no sii ho.
12 And the kine went straight along the road, on the way to Beth-shemesh, yea, along the main highway, they went, lowing as they went, turning not aside, to the right hand or to the left. And, the lords of the Philistines, went along after them, as far as the bounds of Beth-shemesh.
Afei, anantwi no de su faa ɔtempɔn a ɛkɔ Bet-Semes no so tee. Filistifo asodifo dii wɔn akyi ara kosii Bet-Semes hye so.
13 Now, they of Beth-shemesh, were reaping their wheat-harvest in the vale, —so they lifted up their eyes, and saw the ark, and rejoiced to meet it.
Saa bere no, na Bet-Semesfo retwa wɔn atoko wɔ obon no mu. Enti wɔpagyaw wɔn ani huu Adaka no, wodii ahurusi.
14 And, the waggon, entered into the field of Joshua, a man of Beth-shemesh, and stood still, there, where also, was a great stone, —so they clave into pieces the planks of the waggon, and, the kine, offered they up as an ascending-sacrifice, unto Yahweh.
Teaseɛnam no koduu ɔbarima bi a wɔfrɛ no Yosua a ofi Bet-Semes afuw mu no, egyinaa ɔbotan kɛse bi ho. Nnipa no twitwaa nnua a wɔde yɛɛ teaseɛnam no mu. Na wɔde anantwi no bɔɔ ɔhyew afɔre maa Awurade.
15 And, the Levites, took down the ark of Yahweh, and the coffer that was with it, wherein were the jewels of gold, and put them upon the great stone, —and, the men of Beth-shemesh, caused to go up ascending-offerings and offered sacrifices, that day, unto Yahweh.
Lewifo no mu bebree faa adaka no ne adakawa a sika agude wɔ mu no, na wɔde guu ɔbotan kɛse no so. Saa da no, Bet-Semesfo bɔɔ ɔhyew afɔre ne aduan afɔre bebree maa Awurade.
16 And, the five lords of the Philistines, saw it, —and returned unto Ekron, the same day.
Filistifo asodifo baanum no hwɛɛ eyinom nyinaa, na da no ara, wɔsan kɔɔ Ekron.
17 Now, these, are the golden boils which, the Philistines returned as a guilt-offering unto Yahweh, —For Ashdod, one, for Gaza, one, for Ashkelon, one, for Gath, one, for Ekron, one;
Sikakɔkɔɔ mpɔmpɔ sɛso a Filistifo no de kɔɔ sɛ asodi afɔre, de maa Awurade no yɛ akyɛde a efi Asdod, Gasa, Askelon, Gat ne Ekron asodifo nkyɛn.
18 And the golden mice, by the number of all the cities of the Philistines, pertaining to the five lords, both fortified cities, and country villages, —yea, even the great meadow whereon they rested the ark of Yahweh, until this day, is in the field-land of Joshua, the man of Beth-shemesh.
Sikakɔkɔɔ akisi sɛso anum no nso gyina hɔ ma Filistifo nkuropɔn anum no ne nkurow a atwa ho ahyia no a na asodifo baanum no hwɛ so no. Ɔbotan kɛse a na ɛwɔ Bet-Semes a wɔde Awurade Apam Adaka no sii no nso da so tim Yosua afum besi nnɛ sɛ nkae ade a ɛkyerɛ asɛm a esii wɔ hɔ no.
19 And, when he smote the men of Beth-shemesh, because they looked into the ark of Yahweh, yea smote of the people seventy men [and] fifty thousand men, the people mourned, for that Yahweh had smitten the people with a great smiting.
Na Awurade kunkum Bet-Semesfo no mmarima aduɔson sɛ wɔahwɛ Awurade Apam Adaka no mu. Na nea Awurade yɛe no nti, nnipa no twaa agyaadwo pa ara.
20 Then said the men of Beth-shemesh, Who is able to stand before Yahweh, this holy God? and, unto whom, shall he go up from us?
Wosu bisae se, “Hena na obetumi agyina Awurade, Ɔkronkronni Nyankopɔn anim? Ɛhe na yebetumi de adaka yi afi ha akɔ?”
21 And they sent messengers unto the inhabitants of Kiriath-jearim, saying, —The Philistines have returned the ark of Yahweh, come down, fetch it up unto you.
Enti wɔsomaa abɔfo kɔɔ Kiriat-Yearimfo nkyɛn kɔka kyerɛɛ wɔn se, “Filistifo no asan de Awurade Apam Adaka no aba. Yɛsrɛ mo, mommra ha mmegye!”
