Psalms 96

1 O SING unto the LORD a new song: sing unto the LORD, all the earth.

Chantez à Yahvé un chant nouveau! Chantez à Yahvé, toute la terre.

2 Sing unto the LORD, bless his name; shew forth his salvation from day to day.

Chantez à Yahvé! Bénissez son nom! Proclamez son salut au jour le jour!

3 Declare his glory among the nations, his marvelous works among all the peoples.

Déclarez sa gloire parmi les nations, ses merveilles parmi tous les peuples.

4 For great is the LORD, and highly to be praised: he is to be feared above all gods.

Car Yahvé est grand et très digne de louange! Il doit être craint par-dessus tous les dieux.

5 For all the gods of the peoples are idols: but the LORD made the heavens.

Car tous les dieux des peuples sont des idoles, mais Yahvé a fait les cieux.

6 Honour and majesty are before him: strength and beauty are in his sanctuary.

L'honneur et la majesté sont devant lui. La force et la beauté sont dans son sanctuaire.

7 Give unto the LORD, ye kindreds of the peoples, give unto the LORD glory and strength.

Rendez hommage à Yahvé, familles de nations, attribuer à Yahvé la gloire et la force.

8 Give unto the LORD the glory due unto his name: bring an offering, and come into his courts.

Rendez à Yahvé la gloire due à son nom. Apportez une offrande, et venez dans ses parvis.

9 O worship the LORD in the beauty of holiness: tremble before him, all the earth.

Adorez Yahvé avec des vêtements sacrés. Tremblez devant lui, toute la terre.

10 Say among the nations, The LORD reigneth: the world also is stablished that it cannot be moved: he shall judge the peoples with equity.

Dites parmi les nations: « Yahvé règne ». Le monde est également établi. Il ne peut pas être déplacé. Il jugera les peuples avec équité.

11 Let the heavens be glad, and let the earth rejoice; let the sea roar, and the fulness thereof;

Que les cieux se réjouissent, et que la terre se réjouisse. Que la mer rugisse, et sa plénitude!

12 Let the field exult, and all that is therein; then shall all the trees of the wood sing for joy;

Que le champ et tout ce qu'il contient exulte! Alors tous les arbres de la forêt chanteront de joie.

13 Before the LORD, for he cometh; for he cometh to judge the earth: he shall judge the world with righteousness, and the peoples with his truth.

devant Yahvé, car il vient, car il vient pour juger la terre. Il jugera le monde avec justice, les peuples avec sa vérité.
