< Job 15 >

1 Then answered Eliphaz the Temanite, and said,
Te phoeiah Temani Eliphaz loh a doo.
2 Should a wise man make answer with vain knowledge, and fill his belly with the east wind?
Te vaengah, “Aka cueih loh khohli mingnah neh a doo vetih, a bung ah kanghawn a hah sak aya?
3 Should he reason with unprofitable talk, or with speeches wherewith he can do no good?
A taengah hmaiben pawt tih, a hoeikhang pawh olthui te ol neh a tluung aya?
4 Yea, thou doest away with fear, and restrainest devotion before God.
Nang aisat, hinyahnah na muei sak tih, Pathen mikhmuh kah thuepnah khaw na bim.
5 For thine iniquity teacheth thy mouth, and thou choosest the tongue of the crafty.
Na ka loh namah kah thaesainah a cang tih thaai ol na coelh.
6 Thine own mouth condemneth thee, and not I; yea, thine own lips testify against thee.
Na ka loh nang m'boe sak tih kai long moenih. Na hmuilai long ni namah te n'doo.
7 Art thou the first man that was born? or wast thou brought forth before the hills?
Hlang lamhma la n'sak tih som a om hlan lamloh n'yom coeng a?
8 Hast thou heard the secret counsel of God? and dost thou restrain wisdom to thyself?
Pathen kah baecenol te na yaak tih namah hamla cueihnah na buem a?
9 What knowest thou, that we know not? what understandest thou, which is not in us?
Ka ming uh pawt te metlam na ming tih, kaimih taengah amah a om pawt khaw na yakming?
10 With us are both the grayheaded and the very aged men, much elder than thy father.
Sampok khaw, mamih taengkah patong khaw na pa lakah a khohnin khuet coeng ta.
11 Are the consolations of God too small for thee, and the word [that dealeth] gently with thee?
Pathen loh hloephloeinah neh na taengah dikdik a cal ol nang hamla vawt a?
12 Why doth thine heart carry thee away? and why do thine eyes wink?
Balae tih na lungbuei na khuen? Balae tih na mik loh a mikmuelh?
13 That thou turnest thy spirit against God, and lettest [such] words go out of thy mouth.
Na thintoek te Pathen taengla na hooi tih na ka lamloh ol na tha.
14 What is man, that he should be clean? and he which is born of a woman, that he should be righteous?
Huta kah a sak te mebang hlanghing nim aka cael tih aka tang te?
15 Behold, he putteth no trust in his holy ones; yea, the heavens are not clean in his sight.
A hlangcim khuikah a hlangcim koek pataeng tangnah pawt tih vaan pataeng amah mikhmuh ah a cil moenih.
16 How much less one that is abominable and corrupt, a man that drinketh iniquity like water!
Tui bangla dumlai aka mam hlang, a tueilaeh neh a rhonging aisat a.
17 I will shew thee, hear thou me; and that which I have seen I will declare:
Nang taengah kan thui eh, kai ol he hnatun dae. Ka hmuh te kan tae eh.
18 (Which wise men have told from their fathers, and have not hid it;
Te te hlangcueih rhoek loh a thui uh tih a napa rhoek taeng lamloh a phah uh moenih.
19 Unto whom alone the land was given, and no stranger passed among them: )
Amih te amamih bueng ham khohmuen a paek vaengah amih lakli ah kholong a nuen sak moenih.
20 The wicked man travaileth with pain all his days, even the number of years that are laid up for the oppressor.
Halang tah hnin takuem amah kilkul tih, hlanghaeng ham a kum tarhing la khoem uh.
21 A sound of terrors is in his ears; in prosperity the spoiler shall come upon him:
Ngaimongnah khuiah pataeng anih aka rhoelrhak ham a hna ah birhihnah ol a pawk pah.
22 He believeth not that he shall return out of darkness, and he is waited for of the sword:
Hmaisuep lamloh mael ham tangnah pawt tih rhaltawt long khaw a cunghang dongah tawt uh.
23 He wandereth abroad for bread, [saying], Where is it? he knoweth that the day of darkness is ready at his hand:
Buh hamla amah poeng tih a kut ah hmaisuep khohnin bangla a tawn te metlam a ming eh?
24 Distress and anguish make him afraid; they prevail against him, as a king ready to the battle:
Anih te rhal loh a let sak tih caem dongah a coekcoe la aka om manghai bangla khobing loh anih te a khulae.
25 Because he hath stretched out his hand against God, and behaveth himself proudly against the Almighty;
Pathen taengah a kut a thueng tih, Tlungthang taengah phuel uh.
26 He runneth upon him with a [stiff] neck, with the thick bosses of his bucklers:
A rhawn kah a uen a thah la a taengah a photling a yong puei.
27 Because he hath covered his face with his fatness, and made collops of fat on his flanks;
A maelhmai te a tha neh a khuk tih a uen duela bungkawt laep.
28 And he hath dwelt in desolate cities, in houses which no man inhabited, which were ready to become heaps.
Tedae khopuei khosa khaw a im ding te, lungkuk la a phaek uh tih a khuiah khosa uh pawh.
29 He shall not be rich, neither shall his substance continue, neither shall their produce bend to the earth.
Boei pawt vetih a thadueng khaw pai mahpawh. Amih kah khohrhang loh diklai ah pungtai mahpawh.
30 He shall not depart out of darkness; the flame shall dry up his branches, and by the breath of his mouth shall he go away.
Hmaisuep lamloh nong thai mahpawh. A dawn te hmairhong loh a hae vetih a ka dongkah yilh loh a khoe ni.
31 Let him not trust in vanity, deceiving himself: for vanity shall be his recompence.
A poeyoek dongah tangnah boel saeh lamtah a poeyoek dongah khohmang boel saeh. A hnothung khaw a poeyoek lamni a om eh.
32 It shall be accomplished before his time, and his branch shall not be green.
A khohnin loh cup pawt vetih a rhophoe khaw hing mahpawh.
33 He shall shake off his unripe grape as the vine, and shall cast off his flower as the olive.
Misur a thaihkang bangla hul vetih, olive rhaipai bangla rhul ni.
34 For the company of the godless shall be barren, and fire shall consume the tents of bribery.
Lailak kah hlangboel tah pumhong la om vetih kapbaih kah dap tah hmai loh a hlawp ni.
35 They conceive mischief, and bring forth iniquity, and their belly prepareth deceit.
Thakthaenah la vawn tih boethae a sak. A bungko khaw hlangthai palat cuen,” a ti nah.
