Isaiah 26
1 In that day, this song will be sung in the land of Judah [Praised]: “We have a strong city. God appoints yishu'ah ·salvation· for walls and bulwarks.
Azon a napon éneklik azt a dalt Jehúda országában: Erős városunk van, a segítséget teszi fallá és bástyává.
2 Open the gates, that the upright nation may enter: the one which keeps faith.
Nyissátok ki a kapukat, hogy bevonuljon az igaz nemzet, a hűséget őrző.
3 You will keep whoever’s mind is steadfast in perfect peace, because he trusts in you.
A lelkület szilárd, megóvod a békét, a békét; mert benned bízik.
4 Trust in Adonai forever; for in Yah, Adonai, is an everlasting Rock.
Bízzatok az Örökkévalóban mindétig, mert Jáh, az Örökkévaló örök szikla.
5 For he has brought down those who dwell on high, the lofty city. He lays it low. He lays it low even to the ground. He brings it even to the dust.
Mert lealázta a magasban lakókat, a fölemelkedő várat; lealacsonyítja, alacsonyítja a földig, éreti a porig.
6 The foot shall tread it down; Even the feet of the poor, and the steps of the needy.”
Láb tapossa, a szegénynek lábai, a szűkölködők léptei.
7 The way of the just is uprightness. You who are upright make the path of the upright level.
Az igaznak útja egyenesség; egyenes, te az igaznak ösvényét egyengeted.
8 Yes, in the way of your judgments, Adonai, have we waited for you. Your name and your renown are the desire of our soul.
Ítéleteid útján is, Örökkévaló, reméltünk benned, nevedre és emlékedre kívánkozik a lélek.
9 With my soul have I desired you in the night. Yes, with my spirit within me will I seek you earnestly; for when your judgments are in the earth, the inhabitants of the world learn righteousness.
Lelkemmel kívántalak az éjjel, szellememmel is én bennem kereslek: mert midőn ítéleteid a földre jutnak, igazságot tanulnak a világ lakói.
10 Let favor be shown to the wicked, yet he will not learn righteousness. In the land of uprightness he will deal wrongfully, and will not see Adonai’s majesty.
Ha megkegyelmeztetik a gonosz, nem tanul igazságot, a jogosság országában jogtalankodik és nem látja az Örökkévaló felségét.
11 Adonai, your hand is lifted up, yet they don’t see; but they will see your zeal for the people, and be disappointed. Yes, fire will consume your adversaries.
Örökkévaló, magas a te kezed, de nem látják, lássák szégyenülve a népért való buzgalmat, az ellenségeidet érő tűz is eméssze meg őket.
12 Adonai, you will ordain peace for us, for you have also done all our work for us.
Örökkévaló, békét szerzel majd nekünk, mert mind a mi dolgainkat is művelted nekünk.
13 Yahweh Eloheikhem [Yahweh our God], other lords besides you have had dominion over us, but by you only will we make mention of your name.
Örökkévaló, mi Istenünk, bírtak bennünket urak rajtad kívül; egyedül általad emlegetjük nevedet.
14 The dead shall not live. The departed spirits shall not rise. Therefore you have visited and destroyed them, and caused all memory of them to perish.
Holtak nem élednek föl, árnyak nem támadnak föl, ezért rendelted és megsemmisítetted őket és kipusztítottad minden emléküket.
15 You have increased the nation, O Adonai. You have increased the nation! You are glorified! You have enlarged all the borders of the land.
Gyarapítottad a nemzetet, Örökkévaló, gyarapítottad a nemzetet, megdicsőültél, messzivé tetted mind a föld végeit.
16 Adonai, in trouble they have visited you. They poured out a prayer when your chastening was on them.
Örökkévaló, a szorultságban gondoltak rád, halk fohászuk ömlött, midőn fenyítésed érte őket.
17 Like as a woman with child, who draws near the time of her delivery, is in pain and cries out in her pangs; so we have been before you, Adonai.
Mint várandós, ki közel van a szüléshez, vajúdik, kiált fájdalmaiban, úgy voltunk mi előtted, Örökkévaló.
18 We have been with child. We have been in pain. We gave birth, it seems, only to wind. We have not worked any yishu'ah ·deliverance· in the earth; neither have the inhabitants of the world fallen.
Várandósak voltunk, vajúdtunk, mintegy szelet szültünk; segítség nem érkezett az országba és nem születnek meg világlakók.
19 Your dead shall live. My dead bodies shall arise. Awake and sing, you who dwell in the dust; for your dew is like the dew of herbs, and the earth will cast out the departed spirits.
Éledjenek föl a te halottaid, hulláim támadjanak föl; ébredjetek és ujjongjatok, ti porban lakozók, mert világosság harmata a te harmatod és a föld megszüli az árnyakat.
20 Come, my people, enter into your rooms, and shut your doors behind you. Hide yourself for a little moment, until the indignation is past.
Eredj népem, menj be kamaráidba és zárd be mögötted ajtódat, rejtőzzél el kis pillanatra, míg elmúlik a harag.
21 For, behold, Adonai comes out of his place to punish the inhabitants of the earth for their depravity (moral evil). The earth also will disclose her blood, and will no longer cover her slain.
Mert íme az Örökkévaló elindul helyéről, hogy megbüntesse bűnéért a föld lakóját; és feltakarja a föld a rajta elontott vért és nem fedi be többé a rajta megölteket.
