Psalms 1

1 “BOOK I” Happy the man who walketh not in the counsel of the unrighteous, Nor standeth in the way of sinners, Nor sitteth in the seat of scoffers;

ദുഷ്ടരുടെ ആലോചനയിൽ നടക്കാതെയും പാപികളുടെ പാതയിൽ നിൽക്കാതെയും പരിഹാസകരുടെ പീഠങ്ങളിൽ ഇരിക്കാതെയും ജീവിക്കുന്നവർ അനുഗൃഹീതർ.

2 But whose delight is in the law of the LORD, And who meditateth on his precepts day and night.

അവർ യഹോവയുടെ ന്യായപ്രമാണത്തിൽ ആനന്ദിക്കുന്നു; അവിടത്തെ ന്യായപ്രമാണം അവർ രാപകൽ ധ്യാനിക്കുന്നു.

3 He is like a tree planted by streams of water, That bringeth forth its fruit in its season, Whose leaves also do not wither: All that he doeth shall prosper.

നീർച്ചാലുകൾക്കരികെ നട്ടതും അതിന്റെ സമയത്തു ഫലം നൽകുന്നതും ഇലകൊഴിയാത്തതുമായ വൃക്ഷംപോലെയാണവർ— അവർ ചെയ്യുന്നതൊക്കെയും അഭിവൃദ്ധിപ്പെടുന്നു.

4 Not so the unrighteous; They are like chaff, which the wind driveth away.

ദുഷ്ടർ അങ്ങനെയല്ല! അവർ കാറ്റത്തു പാറിപ്പോകുന്ന പതിരുപോലെയാണ്.

5 Therefore the wicked shall not stand in judgment, Nor sinners in the assembly of the just.

അതിനാൽ ദുഷ്ടർ ന്യായവിസ്താരത്തിലും പാപികൾ നീതിനിഷ്ഠരുടെ സദസ്സിലും തലയുയർത്തിനിൽക്കുകയില്ല.

6 For the LORD knoweth the way of the righteous, But the way of the wicked leadeth to ruin.

യഹോവ നീതിനിഷ്ഠരുടെ മാർഗം അറിയുന്നു, എന്നാൽ ദുഷ്ടരുടെ മാർഗം നാശത്തിൽ നിപതിക്കുന്നു.
