Job 38
1 Then spake Jehovah to Job out of the whirlwind, and said:
१नंतर परमेश्वर वावटळीतून ईयोबाशी बोलला आणि तो म्हणाला,
2 Who is this that darkeneth counsel by words without knowledge?
२कोण आहे जो माझ्या योजनांवर अंधार पाडतो, म्हणजे ज्ञानाविना असलेले शब्द?
3 Gird up thy loins like a man! I will ask thee, and answer thou me!
३आता तू पुरूषासारखी आपली कंबर बांध, मी तुला प्रश्न विचारील, आणि तू मला उत्तर दे.
4 Where wast thou when I laid the foundations of the earth? Declare, if thou hast understanding!
४मी पृथ्वी निर्माण केली तेव्हा तू कुठे होतास? तू स्वत: ला इतका शहाणा समजत असशील तर मला उत्तर दे.
5 Who fixed its dimensions, that thou shouldst know it! Or who stretched out the line upon it?
५जग इतके मोठे असावे हे कोणी ठरवले ते सांग? मोजण्याच्या दोरीने ते कोणी मोजले का?
6 Upon what were its foundations fixed? And who laid its corner-stone,
६तीचा पाया कशावर घातला आहे? तिची कोनशिला कोणी ठेवली?
7 When the morning stars sang together, And all the sons of God shouted for joy?
७जेव्हा ते घडले तेव्हा पहाटेच्या ताऱ्यांनी गायन केले आणि देवपुत्रांनी आनंदाने जयजयकार केला.
8 And who shut up the sea with doors, When it burst forth as from the womb?
८जेव्हा समुद्र पृथ्वीच्या पोटातून बाहेर पडला तेव्हा दरवाजे बंद करून त्यास कोणी अडवला?
9 When I made the clouds its mantle, And thick darkness its swaddling-band;
९त्यावेळी मी त्यास मेघांनी झाकले आणि काळोखात गुंडाळले.
10 When I appointed for it my bound, And fixed for it bars and doors;
१०मी समुद्राला मर्यादा घातल्या आणि त्यास कुलुपांनी बंद केलेल्या दरवाजाबाहेर थोपविले.
11 And said, Thus far shalt thou come, and no farther, And here shall thy proud waves be stayed!
११मी म्हणालो, तू इथपर्यंतच येऊ शकतोस या पलिकडे मात्र नाही. तुझ्या उन्मत्त लाटा इथेच थांबतील.
12 Hast thou, in thy life, given charge to the morning, Or caused the day-spring to know its place,
१२तुझ्या आयुष्यात तू कधीतरी पहाटेला आरंभ करायला आणि दिवसास सुरु व्हायला सांगितलेस का?
13 That it should lay hold of the ends of the earth, And shake the wicked out of it?
१३तू कधीतरी पहाटेच्या प्रकाशाला पृथ्वीला पकडून दुष्ट लोकांस त्यांच्या लपायच्या जागेतून हुसकायला सांगितलेस का?
14 It is changed as clay by the seal; And all things stand forth as in rich apparel.
१४पहाटेच्या प्रकाशात डोंगरदऱ्या नीट दिसतात. दिवसाच्या प्रकाशात या जगाचा आकार अंगरख्याला असलेल्या घडीप्रमाणे ठळक दिसतात
15 But from the wicked their light is withheld, And the high-raised arm is broken.
१५दुष्टांपासून त्यांचा प्रकाश काढून घेतला आहे आणि त्यांचा उंच भूज मोडला आहे.
16 Hast thou visited the springs of the sea, And walked through the recesses of the deep?
१६सागराला जिथे सुरुवात होते तिथे अगदी खोल जागेत तू कधी गेला आहेस का? समुद्राच्या तळात तू कधी चालला आहेस का?
17 Have the gates of death been disclosed to thee, And hast thou seen the gates of the shadow of death?
१७मृत्युलोकात नेणारे दरवाजे तू कधी पाहिलेस का? काळोख्या जगात नेणारे दरवाजे तू कधी बघितलेस का?
18 Hast thou surveyed the breadth of the earth? Declare, if thou knowest it all!
१८ही पृथ्वी किती मोठी आहे ते तुला कधी समजले का? तुला जर हे सर्व माहीत असेल तर मला सांग.
19 Where is the way to the abode of light? And darkness—where is its dwelling-place?
१९प्रकाश कुठून येतो? काळोख कुठून येतो?
20 That thou shouldst lead it to its boundary, And that thou shouldst know the paths to its mansion!
२०तू प्रकाशाला आणि काळोखाला ते जिथून आले तेथे परत नेऊ शकशील का? तिथे कसे जायचे ते तुला माहीत आहे का?
21 Surely thou knowest; for thou wast then born! And the number of thy years is great!
२१तुला या सर्व गोष्टी नक्कीच माहीत असतील तू खूप वृध्द आणि विद्वान आहेस मी तेव्हा या गोष्टी निर्माण केल्या तेव्हा तू जिवंत होतास होय ना?
22 Hast thou visited the storehouses of the snow, Or seen the treasuries of the hail,
२२मी ज्या भांडारात हिम आणि गारा ठेवतो तिथे तू कधी गेला आहेस का?
23 Which I have reserved against the time of trouble, —Against the day of battle and war?
२३मी बर्फ आणि गारांचा साठा संकटकाळासाठी, युध्द आणि लढाईच्या दिवसांसाठी करून ठेवतो.
24 What is the way to where light is distributed, And the east wind spread abroad upon the earth?
२४सूर्य उगवतो त्याठिकाणी तू कधी गेला आहेस का? पूर्वेकडचा वारा जिथून सर्व जगभर वाहातो तिथे तू कधी गेला आहेस का?
25 Who hath prepared channels for the rain, And a path for the thunder-flash,
२५जोरदार पावसासाठी आकाशात पाट कोणी खोदले? गरजणाऱ्या वादळासाठी कोणी मार्ग मोकळा केला?
26 To give rain to the land without an inhabitant, To the wilderness wherein is no man;
२६वैराण वाळवंटात देखील कोण पाऊस पाडतो?
27 To satisfy the desolate and waste ground, And cause the tender herb to spring forth?
२७निर्जन प्रदेशात पावसाचे खूप पाणी पडते आणि गवत उगवायला सुरुवात होते.
28 Hath the rain a father? Or who hath begotten the drops of the dew?
२८पावसास वडील आहेत का? दवबिंदू कुठून येतात?
29 Out of whose womb came the ice? And who hath gendered the hoar-frost of heaven?
२९हिम कोणाच्या गर्भशयातून निघाले आहे? आकाशातून पडणाऱ्या हिमकणास कोण जन्म देतो?
30 The waters are hid as under stone, And the face of the deep becometh solid.
३०पाणी दगडासारखे गोठते. सागराचा पृष्ठभागदेखील गोठून जातो.
31 Canst thou fasten the bands of the Pleiades, Or loosen the chains of Orion?
३१तू कृत्तिकांना बांधून ठेवू शकशील का? तुला मृगशीर्षाचे बंध सोडता येतील का?
32 Canst thou lead forth the Signs in their season, Or guide the Bear with her sons?
३२तुला राशीचक्र योग्यवेळी आकाशात आणता येईल का? किंवा तुला सप्तऋर्षो त्यांच्या समूहासह मार्ग दाखवता येईल का?
33 Knowest thou the ordinances of the heavens? Hast thou appointed their dominion over the earth?
३३तुला आकाशातील नियम माहीत आहेत का? तुला त्याच नियमांचा पृथ्वीवर उपयोग करता येईल का?
34 Canst thou lift up thy voice to the clouds, So that abundance of waters will cover thee?
३४तुला मेघावर ओरडून त्यांना तुझ्यावर वर्षाव करायला भाग पाडता येईल का?
35 Canst thou send forth lightnings, so that they will go, And say to thee, “Here we are”?
३५तुला विद्युतलतेला आज्ञा करता येईल का? ती तुझ्याकडे येऊन. आम्ही आलो आहोत काय आज्ञा आहे? असे म्हणेल का? तुझ्या सांगण्याप्रमाणे ती हवे तिथे जाईल का?
36 Who hath put understanding in the reins, And given intelligence to the mind?
३६लोकांस शहाणे कोण बनवतो? त्यांच्यात अगदी खोल शहाणपण कोण आणतो?
37 Who numbereth the clouds in wisdom? And who poureth out the bottles of heaven,
३७ढग मोजण्याइतका विद्वान कोण आहे? त्यांना पाऊस पाडायला कोण सांगतो?
38 When the dust floweth into a molten mass, And the clods cleave fast together?
३८त्यामुळे धुळीचा चिखल होतो आणि धुळीचे लोट एकमेकास चिकटतात.
39 Canst thou hunt prey for the lioness, Or satisfy the hunger of the young lions,
३९तू सिंहासाठी अन्न शोधून आणतोस का? त्यांच्या भुकेल्या पिल्लांना तू अन्न देतोस का?
40 When they couch in their dens, And lie in wait in the thicket?
४०ते सिंह त्यांच्या गुहेत झोपतात. ते गवतावर दबा धरुन बसतात आणि भक्ष्यावर तुटून पडतात.
41 Who provideth for the raven his food, When his young ones cry unto God, While they wander about without food?
४१कावळ्याला कोण अन्न देतो? जेव्हा त्याची पिल्ले देवाकडे याचना करतात आणि अन्नासाठी चारी दिशा भटकतात तेव्हा त्यांना कोण अन्न पुरवतो?
