Job 14
1 Man, that is born of woman, Is of few days, and full of trouble.
१“मानव स्त्री पासून जन्मलेला आहे. आपले आयुष्य अगदी कमी आणि कष्टांनी भरलेले आहे.
2 He cometh forth as a flower, and is cut down; He fleeth also as a shadow, and continueth not.
२तो फुलासारखा फुलतो व खुडल्या जातो, त्याचे आयुष्य छायेसारखे आहे ती थोडा वेळ असते आणि नंतर नाहीशी होते.
3 And dost thou fix thine eyes upon such a one? And dost thou bring me into judgment with thee?
३अशाकडे तुझे डोळे लागतील काय? अशा मला तू आपल्या न्यायसनासमोर नेतोस काय?
4 Who can produce a clean thing from an unclean? Not one.
४अशुद्धांतून शुद्ध पदार्थ कोण काढील? कोणीही नाही.
5 Seeing that his days are determined, And the number of his months, with thee, And that thou hast appointed him bounds which he cannot pass,
५मनुष्याचे आयुष्य मर्यादित आहे, मनुष्याने किती जगायचे ते तूच ठरवतोस. तूच त्याची मर्यादा निश्चित करतोस आणि ती तो बदलू शकत नाही.
6 O turn thine eyes from him, and let him rest, That he may enjoy, as a hireling, his day!
६तू त्याजवर नजर ठेवणे बंद कर, म्हणजे त्यास शांती मिळेल, मजुर जसे रोज भरतो तसे त्यास त्याचे दिवस भरू दे म्हणजे तो आनंद पावेल.
7 For there is hope for a tree, If it be cut down, that it will sprout again, And that its tender branches will not fail;
७वृक्षाला तोडून टाकले तरी त्याच्याबाबतीत आशा असते. ते पुन्हा वाढू शकते त्यास नवीन फांद्या फुटतच राहतात.
8 Though its root may have grown old in the earth, And though its trunk be dead upon the ground,
८त्याची मुळे जरी जमिनीत जुनी झाली आणि त्याचे खोड जमिनीत मरुन गेले.
9 Through the scent of water it will bud, And put forth boughs, like a young plant.
९तरी ते पाण्यामुळे पुन्हा जिवंत होते. आणि त्यास नवीन रोपासारख्या फांद्या फुटतात.
10 But man dieth, and he is gone! Man expireth, and where is he?
१०परंतु मनुष्य मरतो आणि तो संपतो. खरोखर मनुष्य मरतो तेव्हा तो कोठे जातो.
11 The waters fail from the lake; And the stream wasteth and drieth up;
११जसे तलाव पाण्याशिवाय सुकून जातात, तसे नदी पाण्याशिवाय आटते.
12 So man lieth down, and riseth not; Till the heavens be no more, he shall not awake, Nor be roused from his sleep.
१२मनुष्य मरतो तेव्हा तो झोपतो आणि पुन्हा कधीही उठत नाही. आकाश नाहीसे होईपर्यंत मरण पावलेला मनुष्य उठणार नाही. मनुष्यप्राणीत्या झोपेतून कधी जागा होत नाही.
13 O that thou wouldst hide me in the under-world! That thou wouldst conceal me till thy wrath be past! That thou wouldst appoint me a time, and then remember me! (Sheol h7585)
१३तू मला अधोलोकापासून लपव, संकटा पासून वाचव, आणि तुझा राग निवळेपर्यंत तू मला तिथे लपवावेस. नंतर तू माझी मदत नियमित करून माझी आठवण करशील तर किती बरे होईल. (Sheol h7585)
14 If a man die, can he live again? All the days of my war-service would I wait, Till my change should come.
१४मरण पावलेला मनुष्य पुन्हा जिवंत होऊ शकतो का? मी माझी सुटका होईपर्यंत वाट बघत राहीन.
15 Thou wilt call, and I will answer thee; Thou wilt have compassion upon the work of thy hands!
१५तू मला हाक मारशील आणि मी तुला उत्तर देईन. मग जे तू मला निर्माण केलेस तो मी तुला महत्वाचा वाटेन.
16 But now thou numberest my steps; Thou watchest over my sins.
१६पण सध्या तू माझे प्रत्येक पाऊल मोजीत आहेस व माझ्या प्रत्येक पापा वर नजर ठेवीत आहेस.
17 My transgression is sealed up in a bag; Yea, thou addest unto my iniquity.
१७तू माझी पापे एखाद्या पिशवीत बांधून ठेवली आहेत, माझे पाप झाकून ठेवीली आहेस.
18 As the mountain falling cometh to nought, And the rock is removed from its place;
१८डोंगर पडतात आणि नष्ट होतात. मोठमोठे खडक जागीच फुटतात.
19 As the waters wear away the stones, And the floods wash away the dust of the earth, So thou destroyest the hope of man.
१९खडकावरुन वाहणारे पाणी त्यांची झीज करते. पुरामुळे जमिनीवरची माती वाहून जाते. त्याचप्रमाणे मनुष्याची आशा नष्ट होते.
20 Thou prevailest against him continually, and he perisheth; Thou changest his countenance, and sendest him away.
२०तू नेहमीच त्याचा पराभव करतोस, तू तेथून निघून जातोस. तू त्यास दु: खी करतोस आणि त्याला मरणासाठी सोडून देतो
21 His sons come to honor, but he knoweth it not; Or they are brought low, but he perceiveth it not.
२१त्यांच्या मुलांना बहुमान प्राप्त झाला तर ते त्यास समजत नाही. त्याच्या मुलांनी काही चुका केल्या तर त्या त्यास कधी दिसत नाहीत.
22 But his flesh shall have pain for itself alone; For itself alone shall his soul mourn.
२२फक्त त्याच्या स्वत: च्या शारीरिक दु: खाची जाणीव असते. आणि त्याचे अतंर्याम केवळ स्वत: साठी रडते.”
