Job 14
1 Man, that is born of woman, Is of few days, and full of trouble.
১মানুষ, যে মহিলার থেকে জন্মেছে, সে কিছুদিন বাঁচে এবং কিন্তু সমস্যায় ভরা।
2 He cometh forth as a flower, and is cut down; He fleeth also as a shadow, and continueth not.
২সে মাটি থেকে ফুলের মত বের হয়, কিন্তু তা কেটে ফেলা হয়: সে ছায়ার মত চলে যায় এবং তা বেশি দিন স্থায়ী হয় না।
3 And dost thou fix thine eyes upon such a one? And dost thou bring me into judgment with thee?
৩তুমি কি সেই রকম কিছুর ওপর তোমার চোখ রেখেছ? তুমি কি আমাকে তোমার সঙ্গে বিচারে আনবে?
4 Who can produce a clean thing from an unclean? Not one.
৪অশুচি থেকে শুচি কে করতে পারে? কেউ পারে না।
5 Seeing that his days are determined, And the number of his months, with thee, And that thou hast appointed him bounds which he cannot pass,
৫মানুষের দিন নির্ধারিত, তার মাসের সংখ্যা তার সঙ্গে আছে, তুমি তার সীমা ঠিক করেছ যা সে পার করতে পারে না।
6 O turn thine eyes from him, and let him rest, That he may enjoy, as a hireling, his day!
৬তার থেকে চোখ সরাও, যাতে সে বিশ্রাম পায়, যাতে সে দিন মজুরের মত তার জীবনে আনন্দ করতে পারে।
7 For there is hope for a tree, If it be cut down, that it will sprout again, And that its tender branches will not fail;
৭একটা গাছের জন্য আশা আছে; যদি এটা কেটে ফেলা হয়, তাহলে এটা আবার অঙ্কুরিত হতে পারে, এটার কোমল শাখার অভাব হবে না।
8 Though its root may have grown old in the earth, And though its trunk be dead upon the ground,
৮যদিও এটার মূল মাটিতে অনেক পুরানো এবং এটার গোড়া মাটির মধ্যে মারা যায়,
9 Through the scent of water it will bud, And put forth boughs, like a young plant.
৯তবুও যদি এটা জলের গন্ধও পায়, এটা অঙ্কুরিত হবে এবং গাছের মত শাখা প্রশাখা বিস্তার করবে।
10 But man dieth, and he is gone! Man expireth, and where is he?
১০কিন্তু মানুষ মরে এবং কমে যায়; সত্যি, মানুষ তার আত্মা ত্যাগ করে এবং তারপর কোথায় সে?
11 The waters fail from the lake; And the stream wasteth and drieth up;
১১যেমন জল সমুদ্র থেকে অদৃশ্য হয়ে যায়, যেমন নদী জল হারায় এবং শুকিয়ে যায়,
12 So man lieth down, and riseth not; Till the heavens be no more, he shall not awake, Nor be roused from his sleep.
১২তেমন লোকেরা শুয়ে পড়বে এবং আর উঠবে না। যতক্ষণ না আকাশ নিশ্চিহ্ন হয়, তারা জাগবে না, না তাদের ঘুম থেকে উঠবে।
13 O that thou wouldst hide me in the under-world! That thou wouldst conceal me till thy wrath be past! That thou wouldst appoint me a time, and then remember me! (Sheol h7585)
১৩আহা তুমি আমাকে সমস্যা থেকে পাতালে লুকিয়ে রাখবে এবং তুমি আমায় গোপনে স্থানে রাখবে যতক্ষণ না তোমার ক্রোধ শেষ হয়; তুমি আমার জন্য নির্দিষ্ট দিন ঠিক করবে সেখানে থাকার এবং আমায় স্মরণ কর। (Sheol h7585)
14 If a man die, can he live again? All the days of my war-service would I wait, Till my change should come.
১৪যদি কোন মানুষ মরে, সে কি আবার বেঁচে উঠবে? যদি তাই হয়, আমি আমার ক্লান্তিকর দিনের সেখানে অপেক্ষা চাই যতক্ষণ না আমর মুক্তির দিন আসে।
15 Thou wilt call, and I will answer thee; Thou wilt have compassion upon the work of thy hands!
১৫তুমি ডাকবে এবং আমি তোমাকে উত্তর দেব। তোমার হাতের কাজের জন্য তোমার আকাঙ্খা থাকবে।
16 But now thou numberest my steps; Thou watchest over my sins.
১৬তুমি আমার পায়ের চিহ্ন গুনে থাকো এবং যত্ন নাও; তুমি আমার পাপের প্রতি লক্ষ রাখো না।
17 My transgression is sealed up in a bag; Yea, thou addest unto my iniquity.
১৭আমার অপরাধ থলিতে মুদ্রাঙ্কিত হবে; তুমি আমার পাপ ঢেকে দেবে।
18 As the mountain falling cometh to nought, And the rock is removed from its place;
১৮কিন্তু এমনকি পাহাড় পড়ে যায় এবং নিশ্চিহ্ন হয়ে যায়; এমনকি পাথর তার নিজের জায়গা থেকে সরে যায়;
19 As the waters wear away the stones, And the floods wash away the dust of the earth, So thou destroyest the hope of man.
১৯জল পাথরকে ক্ষয় করে; বন্যা পৃথিবীর ধূলোকে ধুয়ে নিয়ে যায়। এই ভাবে, তুমি মানুষের আশা ধ্বংস কর।
20 Thou prevailest against him continually, and he perisheth; Thou changest his countenance, and sendest him away.
২০তুমি সব দিন তাকে হারাও এবং সে চলে যায়; তুমি তার মুখ পরিবর্তন কর এবং তাকে দূরে পাঠাও মরতে।
21 His sons come to honor, but he knoweth it not; Or they are brought low, but he perceiveth it not.
২১তার ছেলেরা হয়ত গৌরবান্বিত হবে, কিন্তু সে তা জানে না; তারা হয়ত অবনত হবে, কিন্তু তিনি সেটা ঘটতে দেখবেন না।
22 But his flesh shall have pain for itself alone; For itself alone shall his soul mourn.
২২শুধু তার নিজের মাংস ব্যথা পায়; শুধু তার নিজের প্রাণ শোক করে তার জন্য।
