< Isaiah 11 >

1 Then shall spring forth a shoot from the stem of Jesse, And a sprout grow up from his roots.
And it will go forth a shoot from [the] rootstock of Jesse and a branch from roots his it will bear fruit.
2 The spirit of Jehovah shall rest upon him, The spirit of wisdom and understanding, The spirit of counsel and might, The spirit of the knowledge and of the fear of Jehovah,
And it will rest on him [the] spirit of Yahweh a spirit of wisdom and understanding a spirit of counsel and strength a spirit of knowledge and [the] fear of Yahweh.
3 He shall take delight in the fear of Jehovah; He shall not judge by the sight of his eyes, Nor decide by the hearing of his ears.
And delighting he [will be] in [the] fear of Yahweh and not to [the] sight of eyes his he will judge and not to [the] hearing of ears his he will decide.
4 But with righteousness shall he judge the poor, And decide with equity for the afflicted of the land; He shall smite the earth with the rod of his mouth; With the breath of his lips shall he slay the wicked.
And he will judge with righteousness poor [people] and he will decide with uprightness for [the] humble [people] of [the] earth and he will strike [the] earth with [the] rod of mouth his and with [the] breath of lips his he will put to death [the] wicked.
5 Righteousness shall be the girdle of his loins, And faithfulness the girdle of his reins.
And it will be righteousness [the] waistband of hips his and faithfulness [the] waistband of loins his.
6 Then shall the wolf dwell with the lamb, And the leopard shall lie down with the kid; The calf, and the young lion, and the fatling shall be together, And a little child shall lead them.
And it will sojourn wolf with lamb and leopard with kid it will lie down and calf and young lion and fatling together and a child small [will be] leading them.
7 The cow and the bear shall feed together, Together shall their young lie down, And the lion shall eat straw like the ox.
And cow and bear they will graze together they will lie down young their and [the] lion like the ox it will eat straw.
8 The suckling shall play upon the hole of the asp, And the near-weaned child lay his hand on the hiding-place of the basilisk.
And he will play a suckling-child over [the] hole of a cobra and over [the] nest of a viper a weaned [child] hand his he will put out.
9 They shall not hurt nor destroy in all my holy mountain; For the land shall be full of the knowledge of Jehovah, As the waters cover the depths of the sea.
Not they will do harm and not they will destroy in all [the] mountain of holiness my for it will be full the earth knowledge Yahweh like the waters the sea [which] cover.
10 In that day shall the shoot of Jesse stand as a banner to the nations, And to him shall the gentiles repair, And his dwelling-place shall be glorious.
And it will be in the day that [the] root of Jesse who [will be] standing for a standard of peoples him nations they will seek and it will be resting place his glory.
11 In that day shall Jehovah the second time stretch forth his hand To recover the remnant of his people, That remaineth, from Assyria, and from Egypt, And from Pathros, and from Ethiopia, and from Elam, And from Shinar, and from Hamath, And from the islands of the sea.
And it will be - in the day that he will repeat [the] Lord - a second [time] hand his to acquire [the] remnant of people his which it will remain from Assyria and from Egypt and from Pathros and from Cush and from Elam and from Shinar and from Hamath and from [the] islands of the sea.
12 He shall set up a banner to the nations, And gather the outcasts of Israel, And bring together the dispersed of Judah, From the four extremities of the earth.
And he will lift up a standard for the nations and he will gather [the] banished [men] of Israel and [the] scattered [women] of Judah he will assemble from [the] four [the] corners of the earth.
13 Then shall the jealousy of Ephraim depart, And the enmity in Judah be at an end; Ephraim shall not be jealous of Judah, And Judah shall not contend with Ephraim.
And it will come to an end [the] jealousy of Ephraim and [the] opposing of Judah they will be cut off Ephraim not it will be jealous of Judah and Judah not it will be opposed to Ephraim.
14 But they shall fly upon the shoulders of the Philistines at the sea; Together shall they plunder the children of the East; On Edom and Moab shall they lay their hand, And the sons of Ammon shall be subject to them.
And they will fly on [the] shoulder [the] Philistines west-ward together they will plunder [the] people of [the] east Edom and Moab [will be] [the] stretching out of hand their and [the] people of Ammon [will be] subjects their.
15 Then will Jehovah utterly destroy the tongue of the Egyptian sea, And shake his hand over the river with a mighty wind, And smite it into seven streams, So that men may go over it dry-shod.
And he will divide Yahweh [the] tongue of [the] sea of Egypt and he will brandish hand his over the River with [the] heat of wind his and he will strike it into seven wadis and he will make walk in sandals.
16 And it shall be a highway for the remnant of the people, Which shall remain, from Assyria, As there was to Israel, When he came up from the land of Egypt.
And it will belong a highway to [the] remnant of people his which it will remain from Assyria just as it belonged to Israel on [the] day went up it from [the] land of Egypt.
