Acts 3
1 And Peter and John were going up together to the temple, at the hour of prayer, which is the ninth hour.
Or Pierre et Jean montaient au temple pour la prière de la neuvième heure.
2 And a certain man lame from his birth was carried along, whom they laid daily at the gate of the temple which is called Beautiful, to ask alms of those who entered the temple;
Et voilà qu’on portait un homme qui était boiteux dès le sein de sa mère, et chaque jour on le posait à la porte du temple, appelée la Belle, afin qu’il demandât l’aumône à ceux qui entraient dans le temple.
3 who, seeing Peter and John about to go into the temple, asked alms.
Celui-ci ayant vu Pierre et Jean, qui allaient entrer dans le temple, les priait pour avoir l’aumône.
4 And Peter fixing his eyes upon him, with John, said, Look upon us.
Fixant avec Jean les yeux sur lui, Pierre dit: Regarde-nous.
5 And he gave heed to them, expecting to receive something from them.
Et il les regardait, espérant recevoir quelque chose d’eux.
6 Then Peter said, Silver and gold have I none; but what I have I give thee. In the name of Jesus Christ the Nazarene, rise up and walk.
Mais Pierre dit: De l’argent et de l’or, je n’en ai pas; mais ce que j’ai, je te le donne: Au nom de Jésus-Christ de Nazareth, lève-toi et marche.
7 And grasping him by the right hand, he raised him up; and immediately his feet and ankles received strength.
Et lui ayant pris la main droite, il se leva; et aussitôt ses jambes et les plantes de ses pieds s’affermirent.
8 And leaping forth he stood, and walked, and entered with them into the temple, walking and leaping, praising God.
Et, s’élançant, il se dressa debout et il marchait; et il entra avec eux dans le temple, marchant, sautant et louant Dieu.
9 And all the people saw him walking, and praising God;
Et tout le peuple le vit marchant et louant Dieu.
10 and they recognized him as the man that sat for alms at the Beautiful Gate of the temple; and they were filled with wonder and amazement at that which had happened to him.
Ainsi, reconnaissant que c’était celui-là même qui était assis à la Belle porte du temple pour demander l’aumône, ils furent étonnés et hors d’eux-mêmes de ce qui lui était arrivé.
11 And as he held fast to Peter and John, all the people ran together to them in the porch that is called Solomon's greatly wondering.
Et comme il tenait Pierre et Jean, tout le peuple étonné accourut vers eux au portique appelé de Salomon.
12 But Peter seeing it, answered the people: Men of Israel, why wonder ye at this? Or why look ye earnestly on us, as though by our own power or godliness we had made this man to walk?
Ce que voyant, Pierre dit au peuple: Hommes d’Israël, pourquoi vous étonnez-vous de ceci, ou pourquoi nous regardez-vous, comme si c’était par notre vertu ou par notre puissance que nous avons fait marcher cet homme?
13 The God of Abraham and Isaac and Jacob, the God of our fathers, hath glorified his servant Jesus, whom ye indeed delivered up, and denied him in the presence of Pilate, when he had decided to release him.
Le Dieu d’Abraham, le Dieu d’Isaac et le Dieu de Jacob, le Dieu de nos pères a glorifié son fils Jésus, que vous avez, vous, livré et renié devant Pilate, quand il jugeait lui-même de le renvoyer.
14 But ye denied the holy and righteous one, and asked that a murderer should be granted to you.
Car c’est vous qui avez renié le Saint et le Juste, et qui avez demandé qu’on vous remît un meurtrier;
15 But the author of life ye killed; whom God raised from the dead, whereof we are witnesses.
Vous avez même tué l’auteur de la vie, que Dieu a ressuscité d’entre les morts, ce dont nous sommes témoins.
16 And his name, through faith in his name, made this man strong, whom ye see and know; yea, the faith which is through him gave him this perfect soundness in the presence of you all.
Or c’est par la foi en son nom, que son nom a affermi cet homme que vous voyez et connaissez, et c’est la foi qui vient par lui qui a opéré, en votre présence, cette entière guérison.
17 And now, brethren, I know that ye acted in ignorance, as did also your rulers.
Cependant, mes frères, je sais que c’est par ignorance que vous avez agi, aussi bien que vos chefs.
18 But God thus fulfilled what he had before announced by the mouth of all the prophets, that his Christ should suffer.
Mais Dieu, qui avait prédit par la bouche de tous les prophètes que son Christ souffrirait, l’a ainsi accompli.
19 Repent therefore and turn from your ways, that your sins may be blotted out, in order that the times of refreshing may come from the presence of the Lord,
Faites donc pénitence et convertissez-vous, afin que vos péchés soient effacés;
20 and that he may send forth Christ Jesus, who was before appointed for you;
Quand seront venus les temps de rafraîchissement devant la face du Seigneur, et qu’il aura envoyé celui qui vous a été prédit, Jésus-Christ,
21 whom heaven indeed must receive until the times of a restoration of all things; of which times God spoke by the mouth of his holy prophets from the days of old. (aiōn g165)
Que le ciel doit recevoir jusqu’au temps du rétablissement de toutes choses, dont Dieu a parlé par la bouche de ses saints prophètes, depuis le commencement du monde. (aiōn g165)
22 Moses indeed said, “A prophet will the Lord your God raise up to you from among your brethren, as be raised up me; him shall ye hear in all things, whatever he shall speak to you.
Car Moïse a dit: Le Seigneur votre Dieu vous suscitera d’entre vos frères un prophète comme moi; vous l’écouterez en tout ce qu’il vous dira.
23 And it shall come to pass, that every soul which doth not hear that prophet shall be utterly destroyed from among the people.”
Or il arrivera que quiconque n’écoutera pas ce prophète sera exterminé du milieu du peuple.
24 And all the prophets also, Samuel and those who followed, as many as spoke, announced these days.
Et tous les prophètes depuis Samuel, et tous ceux qui depuis ont parlé, ont annoncé ces jours.
25 Ye are the sons of the prophets, and of the covenant which God made with our fathers, saying to Abraham, “And in thy posterity shall all the families of the earth be blessed.”
Vous êtes les fils des prophètes et de l’alliance que Dieu a établie avec nos pères, disant à Abraham: Et en ta postérité seront bénies toutes les familles de la terre.
26 To you first, God, having raised up his servant, sent him to bless you in turning away every one of you from your iniquities.
C’est pour vous premièrement que Dieu, suscitant son Fils, l’a envoyé pour vous bénir, afin que chacun revienne de son iniquité.
