< Galatians 2 >

1 Then after a period of fourteen years I went up again to Jerusalem with Barnabas, taking Titus also with me.
Tammanne oyddu laythafe guye, Barnnabaasara zaarada Yerusalaame bas. He wode Tito taara ekkada bas.
2 I went up by revelation, and I explained to them the Good News which I preach among those who are not Jewish, but privately before those who were respected, for fear that I might be running, or had run, in vain.
Xoossay taw qonccisida qonccethan yaa bada Ayhude gidonna asaa giddon ta sabbakiya Wonggelaa enttaw qonccisas. Kase ta woxxida wothaynne ha77ika ta woxxiya wothay hada gidonna mela gada kaaletheyssata dumma shiishada enttaw odas.
3 But not even Titus, who was with me, being a Greek, was compelled to be circumcised.
Hari attoshin, taara de7iya Titoy Girike asi gidikkoka, qaxxaretto gidi un77ethibookkona.
4 This was because of the false brothers secretly brought in, who stole in to spy out our liberty which we have in Christ Jesus, that they might bring us into bondage;
Gidoshin, ammaniyaa ishata daanidi nu giddo gelida issoti issoti I qaxxarettana mela koyidosona. He asati Kiristtoos Yesuusan nuus de7iya la77atethaa wochchidi be7anaw geeman nu giddo gelidi zaaridi nuna aylle oothanaw koyoosona.
5 to whom we gave no place in the way of subjection, not for an hour, that the truth of the Good News might continue with you.
Shin tuma Wonggelaa hinttenan minnidi daana mela nuuni hari attoshin, guutha wodeskka enttaw kushe immibookko.
6 But from those who were reputed to be important (whatever they were, it makes no difference to me; God shows no favoritism between people)—they, I say, who were respected imparted nothing to me,
Shin halaqa daaniya asata oonatethay taw aykkoka gidenna. Xoossay asa som77o be7idi pirddenna. Ha asati ta markkattiya Wonggelaa bolla gujjidabay baawa.
7 but to the contrary, when they saw that I had been entrusted with the Good News for the uncircumcision, even as Peter with the Good News for the circumcision
Shin Phexiroosi, Ayhudetas Wonggelaa odana mela Xoossay iyaw hadara immidayssada tawukka Ayhude gidonna asaas Wonggelaa odiya hadaraa immidayssa entti guyeppe be7idosona.
8 (for he who appointed Peter to be an apostle of the circumcision appointed me also to the non-Jews);
Hiza, Phexiroosi Ayhudeta hawaare gidana mela oothida Xoossay, takka Ayhude gidonna asaas hawaare gidana mela oothis.
9 and when they perceived the grace that was given to me, James and Cephas and John, they who were reputed to be pillars, gave to me and Barnabas the right hand of fellowship, that we should go to the non-Jews, and they to the circumcised.
Qassi tuussu daanidi benttiya Yayqoobi, Phexiroosinne Yohaannisi, taw imettida aadho keehatethaa be7ida wode nuura issifidayssa qonccisanaw ta kushiyanne Barnnabaasa kushiya oykkidosona. Nuuni Ayhude gidonna asaakko, qassi entti Ayhude asaakko baanaw giigidosona.
10 They only asked us to remember the poor—which very thing I was also zealous to do.
Entti nuna minthidi hadara giday, nuuni manqotas qoppanayssa. Kasekka ta hessa oothanaw amotteys.
11 But when Cephas came to Antioch, I resisted him to his face, because he stood condemned.
Phexiroosi Anxookiya katamaa yida wode I balida gisho taani iya som77on “Neeni baladasa” gas.
12 For before some people came from James, he ate with those who were not Jewish. But when they came, he drew back and separated himself, fearing those who were of the circumcision.
Yayqoobi kiittida guutha asay yaanappe sinthe I Ayhude gidonna asaara mees, shin entti yidaappe guye, “Ayhude gidonna asaappe ammanidayssati qaxxarettanaw bessees” giya asaas yayyidi enttafe shaakettis.
13 And the rest of the Jewish believers joined him in his hypocrisy; so that even Barnabas was carried away with their hypocrisy.
Qassi hankko ammanida Ayhudeti Phexiroosa hanuwa Kaallidosona. Hari attoshin, Barnnabaasikka iya qofan gooshettis.
14 But when I saw that they did not walk uprightly according to the truth of the Good News, I said to Cephas before them all, "If you, being a Jew, live as the non-Jews do, and not as the Jews do, how can you compel the non-Jews to live as the Jews do?
Shin entti Wonggelaa tumatethan suure hamuttonnayssa be7ada, Phexiroosa asa ubbaa sinthan, “Neeni Ayhude gidashe, Ayhude wogaatho gidonnashin, Ayhude gidonna asada de7aasa; yaatin, waanada Ayhude gidonnayssata, ‘Ayhude wogan de7ite gada wolqqatay?’” yaagas.
15 "We, being Jews by birth, and not non-Jewish sinners,
Nuuni yeletan Ayhude, shin nagaranchcho gidida Ayhude gidonna asaa mela gidokko.
16 yet knowing that no one is justified by the works of the law but through faith in Jesus Christ, even we believed in Christ Jesus, that we might be justified by faith in Christ, and not by the works of the law, because no flesh will be justified by the works of the law.
Shin asi Yesuus Kiristtoosa ammanidi xilleesippe attin higge naagidi xillonnayssa eroos. Oonikka higge naagidi xillonna gisho, nukka higge naagidi gidonnashin, Kiristtoosan ammanidi xillana mela Kiristtoosi Yesuusa ammanida.
17 But if, while we sought to be justified in Christ, we ourselves also were found sinners, is Christ a servant of sin? Certainly not.
Nu Ayhudetikka Kiristtoosa baggara xillanaw koshshees. Hessa gidikko nukka hara asada nagaranchcho gideyssa be7oos. Yaatin, nu nagara oothana mela denthethey Kiristtoosa guusseyye? Ubbaka gidenna!
18 For if I build up again those things which I destroyed, I prove myself a law-breaker.
Hiza, ta laallidayssa zaarada keexiyabaa gidikko taani ta huu7en higge mentheyssa gideyssa qonccisays.
19 For I, through the law, died to the law, that I might live to God.
Taani Xoossaas daana mela taani higge baggara higges hayqqas.
20 I have been crucified with Christ, and it is no longer I that live, but Christ living in me. That life which I now live in the flesh, I live by faith in the Son of God, who loved me, and gave himself up for me.
Taani Kiristtoosara masqaliya bolla kaqettas. Taani hizappe taw de7ikke, shin Kiristtoosi tanan de7ees. Ta ha77i de7iya de7oy, tana dosidi ta gisho bana aathi immida Xoossaa Na7aa ammanada de7ays.
21 I do not make void the grace of God. For if righteousness is through the law, then Christ died for nothing."
Taani Xoossaa aadho keehatethaa hada oothike. Xillotethi asas higge baggara benttiyabaa gidiyakko, Kiristtoosi coo hayqqis guussu.
