< Proverbs 28 >

1 The wicked have fled and there is no pursuer, And the righteous is confident as a young lion.
Ame vɔ̃ɖi la léa du tsɔna, evɔ ame aɖeke menyae ɖe du nu o, ke dzi le ame dzɔdzɔe ƒo abe dzata ene.
2 By the transgression of a land its heads are many, And by an understanding man, Who knows right—it is prolonged.
Dziɖulawo sɔ gbɔ ɖe dukɔ si me aglãdzedze le, ke ŋutsu si si gɔmesese kple sidzedze le la hea ɖoɖodziwɔwɔ vɛ.
3 A man—poor and oppressing the weak, [Is] a sweeping rain, and there is no bread.
Dziɖula si tea hiãtɔwo ɖe anyi la le abe tsidzadza si ɖe anyigba eye megblẽ nuɖuɖu aɖeke ɖi o la ene.
4 Those forsaking the Law praise the wicked, Those keeping the Law plead against them.
Ame siwo gbe nu le sea gbɔ la kafua ame vɔ̃ɖiwo ke sedziwɔlawo tsia tsitre ɖe wo ŋu.
5 Evil men do not understand judgment, And those seeking YHWH understand all.
Ame vɔ̃ɖiwo mesea afiatsotso nyui gɔme o gake ame siwo dia Yehowa ya sea egɔme nyuie.
6 Better [is] the poor walking in his integrity, Than the perverse of ways who is rich.
Enyo be nànye hiãtɔ si ƒe zɔzɔme ŋu fɔɖiɖi mele o, wu nànye kesinɔtɔ si ƒe mɔwo to vo.
7 Whoever is keeping the Law is an intelligent son, And a friend of gluttons Causes his father to blush.
Ame si léa sea me ɖe asi la nye vi nyanu gake ame si dea ha kple nutsuɖulawo la doa ŋukpe fofoa.
8 Whoever is multiplying his wealth by biting and usury, Gathers it for one favoring the poor.
Ame si dzi eƒe kesinɔnuwo ɖe edzi to demegaxɔxɔ me la, le kɔ lim nuwo na ame bubu si anyo dɔ me na ame dahewo.
9 Whoever is turning his ear from hearing the Law, Even his prayer [is] an abomination.
Ne ame aɖe doa toku sea la, eƒe gbedodoɖawo gɔ̃ hã zua ŋunyɔnu.
10 Whoever is causing the upright to err in an evil way, He falls into his own pit, And the perfect inherits good.
Ame si kplɔ nu dzɔdzɔe wɔla to mɔ vɔ̃ dzi la, age ɖe eya ŋutɔ ƒe mɔ me. Ke ame siwo ŋu fɔɖiɖi mele o la, axɔ domenyinu nyui.
11 A rich man is wise in his own eyes, And the intelligent poor searches him.
Kesinɔtɔ nye nunyala le eya ŋutɔ gbɔ gake hiãtɔ si si sidzedze le la kpɔa egɔme.
12 In the exulting of the righteous the glory [is] abundant, And in the rising of the wicked man is apprehensive.
Ne ame dzɔdzɔe ɖu dzi la, dzidzɔkpɔkpɔ teƒe mekɔna o, ke ne ame vɔ̃ɖi zu fia la, amewo sina bena.
13 Whoever is covering his transgressions does not prosper, And he who is confessing and forsaking has mercy.
Nu medzea edzi na ame si ɣla eƒe nu vɔ̃ o, ke wokpɔa nublanui na ame si ʋu eƒe nu vɔ̃wo me eye wògbe nu le wo gbɔ.
14 O the blessedness of a man fearing continually, And whoever is hardening his heart falls into evil.
Woayra ŋutsu si vɔ̃a Yehowa ɣe sia ɣi, ke ame si sẽa eƒe dzi me la gena ɖe xaxa me.
15 A growling lion, and a ranging bear, [Is] the wicked ruler over a poor people.
Ŋutasẽla si le ame dahewo dzi ɖum la le abe dzata si le gbe tem alo sisiblisi si le ade tam ene.
16 A leader lacking understanding multiplies oppressions, Whoever is hating dishonest gain prolongs days.
Dziɖula tamesesẽtɔ menyaa nu o, ke ame si lé fu kesinɔnu ƒoɖi la anɔ agbe didi, ase vivi.
17 A man oppressed with the blood of a soul, Flees to the pit, [and] none takes hold on him [to help].
Hlɔ̃dola si hlɔ̃dodo la zu agba na la anye tsatsala va se ɖe eƒe kugbe; ame aɖeke megakpe ɖe eŋu o.
18 Whoever is walking uprightly is saved, And the perverted of ways falls at once.
Ame si fɔɖiɖi mele eƒe zɔzɔme ŋu o la anɔ dedie, ke ame si ƒe mɔwo to vo la adze anyi kpata.
19 Whoever is tilling his ground is satisfied [with] bread, And whoever is pursuing vanity, Is filled [with] poverty.
Ame si ŋlɔ eƒe agble la akpɔ nuɖuɖu geɖe, ke ame si ƒe susu le nu manyatalenuwo yome la, ahedada axɔ aƒe nɛ.
20 A steadfast man has multiplied blessings, And whoever is hastening to be rich is not acquitted.
Woayra ŋutsu nuteƒewɔla fũu, ke womagbe tohehe na ame si tsi dzi ɖe kesinɔnuwo kpɔkpɔ ŋuti o.
21 [It] is not good to discern faces, And a man transgresses for a piece of bread.
Amedzidede menyo o gake ame ayi aɖawɔ vɔ̃ ɖe abolo kakɛ ta.
22 The man [with] an evil eye [is] troubled for wealth, And he does not know that want meets him.
Ŋutsu nuvela tsi dzi ɖe hotsuikpɔkpɔ ŋu, evɔ mehenya be ahedada le ye lalam o.
23 Whoever is reproving a man finds grace afterward, More than a flatterer with the tongue.
Ame si ka mo na ŋutsu la, axɔ amenuveve ɖe amenuveve dzi wu ame si alakpaɖe le nume na.
24 Whoever is robbing his father or his mother, And is saying, “It is not transgression,” He is a companion to a destroyer.
Ame si da adzo fofoa alo dadaa hegblɔ be, “Medze vɔ̃ o” la, nye kpeɖeŋutɔ na nugblẽla.
25 Whoever is proud in soul stirs up contention, And whoever is trusting on YHWH is made fat.
Ŋutsu ŋubiala hea mama vɛ ke ame si ɖoa dzi ɖe Yehowa ŋu la, nu adze edzi nɛ.
26 Whoever is trusting in his heart is a fool, And whoever is walking in wisdom is delivered.
Ame si ɖoa dzi ɖe eɖokui ŋu la, bometsilae, ke ame si zɔna le nunya me la anɔ dedie.
27 Whoever is giving to the poor has no lack, And whoever is hiding his eyes multiplied curses.
Ame si naa nu hiãtɔ la, naneke mahiãe o, ke ame si miaa ŋku ɖe woƒe hiahiãwo dzi la, axɔ fiƒode geɖe.
28 A man is hidden in the rising of the wicked, And the righteous multiply in their destruction!
Ne tamesesẽtɔ zu dziɖula la, amewo sina bena, ke ne ame vɔ̃ɖiwo tsrɔ̃ la, ame dzɔdzɔewo tsina.
