Proverbs 10
1 Proverbs of Solomon. A wise son causes a father to rejoice, And a foolish son [is] an affliction to his mother.
सोलोमनको हितोपदेश । बुद्धिमान् छोरोले आफ्नो बुबालाई खुसी तुल्याउँछ, तर मूर्ख छोरोले आफ्नी आमामा शोक ल्याउँछ ।
2 Treasures of wickedness do not profit, And righteousness delivers from death.
दुष्टताद्वारा जम्मा गरिएको धन-सम्पत्तिको कुनै मूल्य हुँदैन, तर ठिक गर्नाले तपाईंलाई मृत्युबाट जोगाउँछ ।
3 YHWH does not cause the soul of the righteous to hunger, And He thrusts away the desire of the wicked.
परमप्रभुले धर्मी व्यक्तिको प्राणलाई भोकै रहन दिनुहुन्न, तर उहाँले दुष्टको इच्छालाई निराश तुल्याइदिनुहुन्छ ।
4 Poor [is] he who is working [with] a slothful hand, And the hand of the diligent makes rich.
अल्छे हातले मानिसलाई गरिब बनाउँछ, तर परिश्रमी मानिसको हातले धन-सम्पत्ति आर्जन गर्छ ।
5 Whoever is gathering in summer [is] a wise son, Whoever is sleeping in harvest [is] a son causing shame.
बुद्धिमान् छोरोले ग्रिष्म ऋतुमा फसल जोहो गर्छ, तर कटनीको समयमा सुत्नेले अपमान ल्याउँछ ।
6 Blessings [are] for the head of the righteous, And the mouth of the wicked covers violence.
परमेश्वरका उपहारहरू धर्मी व्यक्तिको शिरमा पर्छन्, तर दुष्टहरूको मुख हिंसाले ढाकिएको हुन्छ ।
7 The remembrance of the righteous [is] for a blessing, And the name of the wicked rots.
धर्मी व्यक्तिलाई सम्झनेहरूलाई उसले खुसी तुल्याउँछ, तर दुष्टहरूको नामचाहिँ सडेर जाने छ ।
8 The wise in heart accepts commands, And a talkative fool kicks.
संवेदनशील हुनेहरूले आज्ञालाई स्वीकार गर्छन्, तर बकबके मूर्ख नष्ट हुने छ ।
9 Whoever is walking in integrity walks confidently, And whoever is perverting his ways is known.
निष्ठामा हिँड्ने सुरक्षामा हिँड्छ, तर आफ्ना मार्गहरूलाई टेडो बनाउने पक्राउमा पर्ने छ ।
10 Whoever is winking the eye gives grief, And a talkative fool kicks.
द्वेषपूर्ण आँखा झिम्क्याउनेले शोक निम्त्याउँछ, तर बकबके मूर्ख फ्याँकिने छ ।
11 A fountain of life [is] the mouth of the righteous, And the mouth of the wicked covers violence.
धर्मात्माको मुख जीवनको पानीको फुहारा हो, तर दुष्टहरूको मुखमा हिंसा लुकेको हुन्छ ।
12 Hatred awakens contentions, And love covers over all transgressions.
घृणाले द्वन्द्व निम्त्याउँछ, तर प्रेमले सबै कुकर्मलाई ढाकिदिन्छ ।
13 Wisdom is found in the lips of the intelligent, And a rod [is] for the back of him who is lacking understanding.
बुद्धि विवेकशील व्यक्तिको ओठमा पाइन्छ, तर लट्ठीचाहिँ समझ नभएको व्यक्तिको लागि हो ।
14 The wise lay up knowledge, and the mouth of a fool [is] near ruin.
बुद्धिमान् मानिसहरूले ज्ञान सञ्चय गर्छन्, तर मूर्खको मुखले विनाशलाई नजिक ल्याउँछ ।
15 The wealth of the rich [is] his strong city, The ruin of the poor [is] their poverty.
धनी मानिसको सम्पत्ति उसको किल्लाबन्दी गरिएको सहर हो, तर गरिबहरूको गरिबी तिनीहरूको विनाश हो ।
16 The wage of the righteous [is] for life, The increase of the wicked for sin.
धर्मी मानिसको ज्यालाले जीवनमा पुर्याउँछ, तर दुष्टहरूको लाभले पापमा पुर्याउँछ ।
17 A traveler to life [is] he who is keeping instruction, And whoever is forsaking rebuke is erring.
अनुशासनलाई पछ्याउनेको लागि जीवनको मार्ग छ, तर सुधारलाई इन्कार गर्ने कुबाटोमा लगिन्छ ।
18 Whoever is covering hatred with lying lips, And whoever is bringing out an evil report is a fool.
घृणालाई लुकाउने जोसुकैसित छली जिब्रो हुन्छ, र बदख्याइँ फैलाउनेचाहिँ मूर्ख हो ।
19 In the abundance of words transgression does not cease, And whoever is restraining his lips [is] wise.
जहाँ धेरै कुरा गरिन्छ, त्यहाँ अपराधको कमी हुँदैन, तर आफूले बोल्ने कुरामा सतर्क हुनेचाहिँ बुद्धिमानी हो ।
20 The tongue of the righteous [is] chosen silver, The heart of the wicked—as a little thing.
धर्मी व्यक्तिको जिब्रो शुद्ध चाँदी हो, तर दुष्टहरूको हृदयमा थोरै मूल्य हुन्छ ।
21 The lips of the righteous delight many, And fools die for lack of heart.
धर्मी व्यक्तिको ओठले धेरैलाई तृप्त पार्छ, तर समझशक्तिको कमीको कारण मूर्खहरू मर्छन् ।
22 The blessing of YHWH—it makes rich, And He adds no grief with it.
परमप्रभुका असल वरदानहरूले धन-सम्पत्ति ल्याउँछन्, र उहाँले त्यसमा दुःखकष्ट थप्नुहुन्न ।
23 To execute inventions [is] as play to a fool, And wisdom to a man of understanding.
दुष्टता मूर्खले खेल्ने खेल हो, तर बुद्धि समझशक्ति भएको मानिसको लागि खुसी हो ।
24 The feared thing of the wicked meets him, And the desire of the righteous is given.
दुष्ट व्यक्तिको डरले त्यसलाई उछिन्ने छ, तर धर्मी व्यक्तिको इच्छा पुरा हुने छ ।
25 As the passing by of a windstorm, So the wicked is not, And the righteous is a perpetual foundation.
दुष्टहरू बितिजाने आँधीबेहरीझैँ हुन्, र तिनीहरू रहँदैनन्, तर धर्मात्माचाहिँ सदा टिकिरहने जग हो ।
26 As vinegar to the teeth, And as smoke to the eyes, So [is] the slothful to those sending him.
दाँतमा सिर्का र आँखामा धुवाँजस्तै अल्छे आफूलाई पठाउनेहरूका निम्ति त्यस्तै हुन्छ ।
27 The fear of YHWH adds days, And the years of the wicked are shortened.
परमप्रभुले भयले जीवनको आयु लम्ब्याउँछ, तर दुष्टको आयु छोटिने छ ।
28 The hope of the righteous [is] joyful, And the expectation of the wicked perishes.
धर्मी मानिसहरूको आशा तिनीहरूको आनन्द हो, तर दुष्ट मानिसहरूको आयु छोटिने छ ।
29 The way of YHWH [is] strength to the perfect, And ruin to workers of iniquity.
परमप्रभुको मार्गले निष्ठावान् मानिसहरूको रक्षा गर्छ, तर दुष्टको लागि यो विनाश हो ।
30 The righteous is not moved for all time, And the wicked do not inhabit the earth.
धर्मात्मा कहिल्यै उखेलिने छैन, तर दुष्टचाहिँ पृथ्वी रहने छैन ।
31 The mouth of the righteous utters wisdom, And the tongue of contrariness is cut out.
धर्मात्माको मुखबाट बुद्धिको फल निस्कन्छ, तर भड्काउने जिब्रो काटिने छ ।
32 The lips of the righteous know a pleasing thing, And the mouth of the wicked perverseness!
धर्मात्माको ओठले स्वीकारयोग्य कुरा जान्दछ, तर दुष्टको मुखले बाङ्गोटिङ्गो कुरा मात्र जान्दछ ।
